View Full Details of Maples Care HomeThe Home is well run, with helpful and attentive staff from reception through to the care and nursing professionals, whilst the rooms are well maintained and comfortable. The food and drinks are to a good standard and meticulous records are kept of the residents intake and health status. My brother experienced a difficult period, between the Home and hospital stays, during which Maples nursing staff were very helpful in ensuring he returned and settled well back in the Home.
The service, care and dedication of Maples Care Home staff is excellent. My mother was recently taken to hospital and prior to the ambulance arriving the nurses and carers were exemplary. Also in general the staff are devoted to the caring of my mother.
My Brother and I had a difficult decision to make after my mother suffered a stroke. Her independence was completely taken away. After months of home carers, numerous falls and hospital stays we decided permanent care was the only way forward. We visited many, but Maples seemed to fit exactly what we were looking for, and we definitely made the right decision. Our mother is safe, happy and loved by all who work there. She knows it is her permanent home and loves it. The team work tirelessly to make the home feel like home and the care they give feel like extended members of their own family. We can't thank them enough for all their love, care and attention.
My father is well cared for but with lots of staff changes I do not feel I have such a close relationship with them. Hopefully, in time this will change. My father does not have a great quality of life so the fact that he enjoys the food is a bonus.
I feel that mother in law, has been forgotten! She doesn't appear to have any social contact with anyone. I thought the home had people to come and chat to the residents. I feel that when I visit her door is mostly always pulled to. She can't even see people walk past.
All the staff at Maples are caring and responsive to the residents' needs. The management team listen to the relatives and try their best to accommodate the family's wishes. A move into a care home is a significant step, not only for the elderly person but also for the family; the staff at Maples have provided welcome support to ease this transition.
My dad was only at Maples for a few months but myself and the family would like to say how wonderful and caring all the staff were throughout Dad's stay. Unfortunately Dad passed away at Maples and the staff went above and beyond to make Dad and all the family comfortable and cared for at the beginning and end and we will be forever grateful for the professionalism and caring we received. Don't change anything, just keep up the splendid work that you all do.
Staff are pretty good but I think my relative needs to be walked about more often. My relative could be given more care and attention and the TV and music should be relevant to the resident's age group.
My mum has been a resident of Maples for 4 months and we have been very satisfied with her care so far. The whole team are friendly and welcoming. The facilities are kept clean and tidy and the food provided is plentiful. We have access to an online portal that the care team updates regularly, it is a reassurance throughout the day when we cannot visit in person.
The home has looked after my mother who has Dementia for over three years. She is extremely well looked after, well nourished and kept mobile. The staff are friendly and caring and provide good regular updates in the form of "resident of the day". I have no issues with my mother's care.
A very clean, warm and friendly care home which meets all of my father's needs. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The activities are always very good and interactive. I am very happy in knowing my father is safe and well looked after at all times in Maples Care Home.
All mum's care needs are seen to. The home has a relaxed attitude and carers adapt to the resident's individual needs on a changing day-to-day basis. my mother does not engage in the activities but the team do try to include her.
Mum came to Maples 18 months ago and has been cared for very well. Staff always accommodating and welcoming. Because of dementia, Mum is not always accommodating and willing to get involved with activities, etc., but the staff just goes along with her wishes.
Mum came to Maples five weeks ago. As we are four daughters, we regularly go to visit. Just love Maples staff, so cheerful and smiley, and the other visitors are all so pleasant. We have definitely seen a marked improvement in our mum's health and well-being since she has been there. We have our mum back, which we haven't had for a few years.
Maples Care Home has experienced and compassionate staff leading. My mum tells me 'they are lovely to me', what more could anyone ask for. The activities on offer are so varied and range from quizzes, singers, arts and crafts to therapy dog visits (to name a few). The residents are so well looked after and nourished and hydrated. I never feel that I can't raise any points or give feedback regarding my mum's care. This is a really tremendous home and with new management in place, the improvements are ongoing. I sleep well at night knowing Maples is my mum's home. Thank you.
My mum came to Maples from another home, where she wasn't eating, had no interaction with the staff for the 6 weeks she was there. Within half an hour at Maples the carers had her eating and drinking, then the activities lady encouraged her to play a game. My mum has been there for 2 weeks and she is happy and settled. Seriously I can't thank all the staff enough. From entering Maples it has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are all caring, encouraging, and supportive. It feels like a home from home and would 100% recommend this home. I can finally relax knowing my mum is safe and all her needs are met.
My mother has Vascular dementia and has been residing in Maples for nearly two years. The home itself is clean, nicely decorated and is a safe and secure home for my mum, mum is well cared for and the carers, nurses and staff are all friendly professional and polite. They see to all of Mum's needs, you get a call once a week asking if I have any concerns and go through a care plan to make sure it's up to date. They also look at the meals to make sure mum's eating well. Mum has regular showers. Mum's room is lovely, with matching furniture, you can also take in their pieces of furniture and bedding to make them feel at home and put family pictures on the walls. There's a peaceful garden with a seating area. They have a great team of people that do different activities with the residents, singing and dancing (if the residents can of course) visiting times are 8 am to 8 pm, come and go as you please. A hairdresser and a chiropodist, opticians and a doctor visit regularly when needed. We are very happy.
Maples had always been friendly and informative. My cousin is quite difficult at times and the staff do their utmost to divert and support her anxieties. She is still quite volatile at times and they do their best to support and pacify her. Always kept informed. Maples is kept clean and tidy and never this year have there been any unpleasant smells etc.
The home is working well for our needs. My wife is cared for well. The carers are good and facilities are well run. My value for money rating refers simply to the fact there is no local authority support.
Do not put your loved one here. Don’t be fooled by the sight of the place. Read the CQC report that was published in December 2023. Read it and believe it! It doesn’t go far enough! In my opinion, criminal investigations should occur. I’ve put one star because otherwise my review won’t be accepted, Canfield Healthcare deserve nothing!
