I placed my 80 year old mum into Maples Care home for 9 days of respite whilst I went on holiday, from the moment I called the home to arrange a show round to checking mum in I found the staff to be so lovely, welcoming and friendly. My mum had a lovely room with a welcome card when she arrived which was a lovely personal touch. My mum returned home from her respite stay for 4 days and she has now decided to move into Maples permanently. The food is lovely, and the staff are anmazing and I couldn't think of anywhere else I would want my mum to be.

Overall, I found the home friendly and caring, it's clean, the food has been good. We noticed the care on the first floor to be slightly better, but it was clear that the people on that floor needed more assistance. So more staff appeared to be on duty. It may only be my opinion, but I feel that there is less staff on the ground floor, especially during meal times. I raise this because my mother needs a small degree of help when using the toilet.

From the start of our visit to view Maples, we were shown around. The staff were so friendly, we have since brought mum to live here. The staff are so kind and helpful, they have made a very life changing experience stress free.
Mum is 95 and has settled in straight away.

The food is amazing and served in a lovely dining room.

My mother was in a respite care home following a fall and a stay in a Rehab ward in hospital. During her stay there, her condition deteriorated, she had another fall and got two serious open sores. The home in question gave us few days to get out as they couldn't provide the right care. I went and saw the manager of the Maples who seemed very professional. She came and assessed my mum on a Sunday and we moved her here on a Tuesday. The nursing care has been excellent, the staff are very kind and caring, my mum has settled in and always tells us how nice the food is. We're very happy.

Absolutely wonderful place where to begin from the carers, staff, management, residents such a happy positive environment. The cleanliness levels are outstanding the presentation of every meal and meal times the table settings really create a really realistic home from home experience.

The entertainment is brilliant inclusive for every ability for residents. I am so grateful and happy that my grandmother is in this home it has been so comforting to see her progress from being here in only 4 weeks. I look forward to visiting her and spending time in such a wonderful place.

Avoid. Unless your happy to put your loved one into care and never know what's going on with them thereafter. Also don't trust their possessions will be cared for as once your loved one no longer needs their care they will lose their things. Disgusting treatment of families at very hard times for them. Zero compassion.

Our family has serious concerns about the care provided at Maples Care Home. Medication appeared to be administered without clear consent or explanation, raising concerns about communication and safeguarding. During one visit, several swabs meant for overnight use were left untouched, suggesting personal care checks were not completed as expected. We also felt that our relative did not receive the dignity and attention deserved during end-of-life care. Concerns raised with staff and management were not adequately acknowledged or resolved. We hope these issues are reviewed to ensure improvements in care, oversight, and family communication.

The Home is well run, with helpful and attentive staff from reception through to the care and nursing professionals, whilst the rooms are well maintained and comfortable.
The food and drinks are to a good standard and meticulous records are kept of the residents intake and health status.

My brother experienced a difficult period, between the Home and hospital stays, during which Maples nursing staff were very helpful in ensuring he returned and settled well back in the Home.

My Brother and I had a difficult decision to make after my mother suffered a stroke. Her independence was completely taken away. After months of home carers, numerous falls and hospital stays we decided permanent care was the only way forward. We visited many, but Maples seemed to fit exactly what we were looking for, and we definitely made the right decision. Our mother is safe, happy and loved by all who work there. She knows it is her permanent home and loves it. The team work tirelessly to make the home feel like home and the care they give feel like extended members of their own family. We can't thank them enough for all their love, care and attention.

My dad was only at Maples for a few months but myself and the family would like to say how wonderful and caring all the staff were throughout Dad's stay. Unfortunately Dad passed away at Maples and the staff went above and beyond to make Dad and all the family comfortable and cared for at the beginning and end and we will be forever grateful for the professionalism and caring we received. Don't change anything, just keep up the splendid work that you all do.

Staff are pretty good but I think my relative needs to be walked about more often.

My relative could be given more care and attention and the TV and music should be relevant to the resident's age group.
