Maples Care Home is a purpose-built nursing home, set over 3 floors in a residential area of Bexleyheath.

The home has been carefully designed to offer all the facilities that residents would expect from a modern nursing home while retaining a warm, homely and relaxed feel.

Maples has a total of 75 ensuite bedrooms that are spacious and comfortably furnished. Residents are encouraged to personalise their room with pictures, family photographs and belongings of their choice.

Dedicated nursing and care staff are on hand on each floor 24/7, and the key worker system means that residents will always have a friendly and familiar face looking out for them.

The home provides person-centred nursing, palliative, respite and dementia care. Dementia care at Maples supports independence, reduces anxiety and ensures that residents feel comfortable and can enjoy the best possible quality of life.

The communal areas provide a mix of quiet spaces where residents can sit and relax or chat with visitors (who are welcome at any time) and larger areas where the home holds a variety of daily activities. A dedicated salon provides on-site hairdressing facilities.

Along with the rest of the home, the large, landscaped garden at Maples is fully wheelchair accessible and offers a relaxed and safe environment with plenty of seating space.

Great improvements so far with new management, which I feel confident will result eventually with recognition as the best in borough of Bexley. Keep up the good work, well done to all the loyal staff there who really do care.

My relative has serious health problems and her health has deteriorated in recent months. I feel the response has been good- the staff have been focused on her welfare and keeping her as comfortable as possible. There has been good communication with the GP and I have been kept up to date. The standards
of care in this home continue to improve and I am aware that there are active plans to provide a more interesting range of activities and to improve the menus. My relative's friends and I recently had lunch at the home. The meal was tasty and staff made every effort to make us welcome.

My father has had various care needs over the last 2 years and Maples have done their best to ensure that the care is appropriate for his needs. I can rest assured that he is being looked after 24/7, and I will be contacted if anything happens between my visits. He is secure, well fed and cared about.

My mother has been at Maples for just over 2 years. She improved quite quickly after she became a resident. She is happy being at Maples and she receives very good care. She gets along with the staff very well and other residents. The home is always very clean and tidy, and all the staff are very
friendly.

The Maples is a very good care home. Very clean with beautiful decor and the food is very good. Most importantly the carers "care" and do their job very well. Nothing is too much trouble all the staff (cleaners, kitchen staff, laundry etc) are pleasant and helpful. The only criticism I have is that
they have too much computer/paper work to do, especially the senior carers and nurses who appear to do this all day!
