View Full Details of The PotteriesMy 2 aunts were at The Potteries together receiving end of life care. I cannot praise the care home enough for the outstanding care dignity and respect both aunts received. Everything was tailored to their needs and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff in their uniforms was nice to see to understand their roles and all staff were so polite and super friendly. I stayed overnight in a guest room to be with my aunts 24/7 so I saw day & night staff and all were equal in delivering their first class care. The food was very good as well with a choice of "home-cooked" meals everyday and taking them to the cafe for coffee & cake felt like a real treat to them. I would highly recommend The Potteries Care Home to anyone seeking care for a relative in Poole. Well done to all of you!
As the weeks pass, I have become more and more impressed by The Potteries! All the employees are so welcoming and friendly, always greeting residents by their first name. They are also always smartly dressed (and colour coded too!). The food is interesting, well balanced, and the Help Yourself Cafe is excellent (particularly now after the new machine has been installed)! Residents' clothes are washed and ironed daily. There is a lovely garden to walk in for exercise. There are daily activities, and the "one-to-ones" are extremely popular. Local musicians visit and are very much appreciated.
My mother has been a resident since April of this year, and I can't praise all the staff enough. They all know her by name and treat her with genuine kindness and respect. She takes part in many of the activities offered, and the activities team clearly put a lot of effort into creating a fun and stimulating environment for the residents. The home is always clean and really welcoming, and the cakes in the cafe are delicious! I am pleased with the care she receives, and it gives me peace of mind knowing she's in such capable hands.
Thank you for all the incredible care and compassion shown to my friends. All staff, throughout our time in The Potteries went above and beyond with the care delivered. The care for those approaching their final days, and the compassion for family and friends, makes a very difficult situation more bearable. Thank you especially to the manager and also the kind nurse who was so gentle.
We have been very happy with the service and environment provided by The Potteries. Dad is safe - our primary concern, but also cared for, genuinely, by all the staff, from the nursing staff providing his primary care through to front of house and maintenance. Everyone knows Dad's name and they all say hello and make the time to engage with him. The activities are also second to none, they're varied and engaging and are keeping his spirits high. I would love to see more 'DIY' type activities for dad - he loved the gentleman's club but it is only once a month. If there was a possibility of more of this, that would be great!
I would have no hesitation in recommending The Potteries for the care of their loved one. Our mum was so happy there, and her last few weeks of life were treated with genuine care and dignity. All levels of staff were outstanding and showed genuine care and support, not only to mum, but also us as a family. Nothing was too much trouble. We cannot thank you all enough for your love and understanding in those last few weeks.
Fabulous place - Mum loves it! The staff are fab!
We have all been very impressed with The Potteries. They have gone out of their way to make sure my father has settled in. They have gone the extra mile to help with his rehabilitation when the NHS hasn't really been able to help him yet due to a lack of resources. All members of staff are very polite and are always smiling. We couldn't have asked for more.
My gran lives at The Potteries. She has lived in many care homes and by far this is the best! The food is fantastic, as well as the activities. The staff are very caring and engaging. My gran loves living here and we can not thank the staff enough.
The key strength of The Potties is the staff. They genuinely care and pay real attention to the residents and their needs. This strength is reinforced by the team, including several long term employees, ensuring consistency of care standards as well as a familiar environment to residents.
Would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at The Potteries who looked after dad. You are all amazing and not sure how we can ever repay you. I know some times he was challenging especially if he didn't have his dinner on a hot plate or if his hot cross buns were not toasted how he liked them, but he thought you were all brilliant. The last couple of months have been challenging with dad deteriorating until he took his final breath on Sunday. You have been our life line over the last few months and dad thought the world of you all. Not sure how we would have got through this without out you. Thanks again to everyone who cared for dad, you are all very special people xx
My mum has just had two weeks respite in the potteries. I was so impressed with the home and the staff. The home is welcoming with a bright and airey reception and cafe area. The staff are very caring and pay great attention to detail , everyone seemed to know her name from day one . I delivered her case the afternoon before admission , her clothes were taken and immediately named and were hanging in her wardrobe/ drawers when we arrived . The lifestyle team encouraged mum to take part in activities of which there are many .Mum enjoyed the meals and the chef and team provided lovely cakes everyday for the cafe. Many thanks to all at the potteries , would definitely recommend if you are looking for a care home .
My husband has been at the potteries since June 2022. He has had exceptional care from the staff and lifestyle team.
I can't thank the team at The Potteries enough for the care and attention they gave to my Mum and also us as a family. They all went above and beyond and with so many highs and lows for us to all to deal with. The warmth felt by my Mum was reciprocated with the team being known as 'her girls'. In the short time Mum was there she was so very well cared for. The family had regular messages from the team to keep us involved with Mum's care. We were always made to feel welcome when visiting. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Potteries.
Excellent care for my mum. She has dementia. The care she receives is second to none. Lots of interaction with the staff. So happy she is there. The staff are always very welcoming when I visit. If I have any worries, they put my mind at rest.
Living in Canada, I needed a trustworthy, safe and comfortable location for my 90-year-old Mother. I have been so pleased with the super care, warmness and constant updates the home provides. I cannot fault this location in any way and highly recommend it to anyone looking for top-class care for an ageing relative, to provide them with a five-star lovely home in their latter years.
My father was a resident at The Potteries for 5 years passing away on the 10th of October. His time at the Potteries gave him a very very happy and fulfilling care experience. The continuing strive by the management team to build the best team of service providers I've enjoyed being a part of too. The icing on the cake being the lifestyle team now in place who bring so much joy to the residents. Dad loved the staff and the staff loved him, it says something when I'm missing the team as they've become such a big part of my routine.
First class nursing home! My father-in-law has been in The Potteries Nursing Home now for a few months and every time I go to visit him I am greeted with friendly professional staff who look after all the residents with upmost respect. I totally recommend this place!
The Potteries Care Home is the best care home my mother has resided in. The staff are always kind and considerate to my mum and provide very good care. The home is very well presented and offers a wide range of meal options for residents. Further, it provides activities that are well-planned, fun and rewarding for residents. I have no hesitation in recommending the Potteries Care home to others, for peace of mind with regard to holistic care for their loved ones.
Visited my grandmother for lunch. It's difficult for her as she is a very independent woman and doesn't like to cause a fuss. The care home in general was lovely. Staff were lovely and friendly and welcoming. Good facilities and clean. However, my grandmother is a vegetarian. There is no vegetarian menu listed. It says there is a vegetarian menu available but it is not advertised anywhere. Why can the menu not include the vegetarian option so those who require it know what to expect or whether they need to get something else in. Seems a very easy fix considering a daily menu is printed anyway. I know it would make her feel much more included.
