View Full Details of Kendal Care HomeMy very dear friend (and nursing colleague) has been a resident for nearly a year and I cannot fault the care she has received. The staff are friendly, courteous and very respectful. And go the "extra mile"! And most importantly my friend is happy and contented in the home.
My father spent his final days at Kendal Care Home. The care that he received was delivered to a very high standard. The staff always came across as being kind, caring and professional.
Over the last eighteen months the care given to my mother at Kendal Care Home has been nothing short of exceptional. Mum arrived the care after a fall and resultant head injury on 23rd Dec 2023 and lived at KCH until she passed away 18 months later. During that time she was given an amazing amount of care, love and affection by the outstanding team. Too many wonderful staff to mention individually here other than to say they have all been so kind, fun and genuinely considerate to my Mum THANK YOU
I could not be happier for my relative, knowing that she is in a very well run care home where her needs are being taken care of in the most attentive and dignified manner. The staff at the home make us feel welcome at anytime and they genuinely care about the residents. We moved our relative from another home and she is clearly happier at Kendal Care Home. The rooms are a good size, the food is excellent and there are a good selection of activities. The home is strongly recommended.
A quick note of thanks to all the staff at Kendal Care Home. Under the manager's leadership, everyone plays a part in making this a special place. From reception and office staff as you enter the building to all the carers nurses and entertainment team. A couple of examples - yesterday was St Patrick's day and everyone enjoyed what was on offer. The rooms were decorated with crafts done last week by the residents. The menus for a special lunch was perfect, and enjoyed by everyone in the dining room. Whilst activities are taking place the staff are looking out for everyone and know who needs help. They help with enthusiasm, which I am sure the residents appreciate. They are all kind and sensitive. Today a fabulous boat ride on Windermere. These trips must take quite a bit of organising but looking at the photos, everyone looks safe and happy. The weather was an added bonus! Keep up the good work KCH you are a great team, and thank you.
This is the seoncd time I have written to you. I read the information when it stated that you would contact me within 4 days, and I am still waiting to hear from you. On my weekly visit to the home, the trousers my husband was wearing have not been ironed. He looked as though he had slept in them. He was particular about his trousers as he worked for the service and would iron his own trousers two days before he came to the care home. Please let me know what you are going to do about this problem.
A massive thank you to every member of staff at Kendal Care Home, the kindness and care, often in difficult circumstances were handled so professionally. As a family we were always warmly welcomed, we were part of Kendal Care Home Family Such dignity was shown by all the staff after my father died. I highly recommend kendal Care Home.
Excellent nursing home. The staff and management are lovely and helpful. Carers are friendly and very caring, nothing too much. My mum is very well looked after unlike when she had to stay in a different care home (horrific place), which left her in bed and didn't care if she ate or not (she's diabetic), the staff never spoke. Just grunted at you. Kendal Care Home couldn't be more different. Carers really look after her and take time to talk to her. It's a massive weight off my mind, knowing she is very well cared for.
I can't express enough appreciation to Kendal Care Home for the care and dedication given to my husband. He has complex needs and nothing that is asked if the staff or nursing floor is of any bother for them. They keep me informed on all aspects, and they are a credit to the care home. Anyone considering care for a loved one, this is the best home you could consider as I have visited a few homes over the years and without a doubt this home tops the bill for choice also, all the other staff in the home are super.
It is a real pleasure to visit Kendal Care Home. From the welcome at reception to the nursing staff caring for my mother, everyone is kind, considerate, attentive and truly professional. This facility excels in every single aspect.
Such a calm and warm atmosphere where all seems so organised and under control. The staff are extremely polite and always happy to help. It feels like a truly welcoming place. I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs the best care.
After struggling with having to make the difficult decision to move Dad into a care home, I can honestly say that I wouldn't want him anywhere else. The staff are so caring, not only did they quickly get up to speed with Dad, but they also made me and my family feel welcome at any time, allowed close family to come and dine with Dad and always kept me up to date with every change or need Dad has. The environment is like being welcomed into a top hotel, the rooms are a good size with en-suite facilities and Dad has never eaten so well. The in-house services, such as the entertainment team and occupational therapist, mean the residents are stimulated and entertained, this is complemented by personal services such as hairdressers and chiropodists that visit regularly. Given Dad's state of health and needs, he couldn't be in a better place. Thank you to all the staff who provide the excellent care.
Brilliant care, next door to the local hospital. Staff are very well trained with a business and care-led approach. My mum has had much more done for her than the last home. They are currently looking into 1 to 1 funded nursing care for her which I did not know about. Well done!
I visited my mum at Kendal Care Home today, along with my daughter and granddaughter. When we arrived the residents were taking part in a baking session - making jam tarts. I visit often and today was only planning a short visit, but enjoyed a couple of hours with my daughter, granddaughter, mum, the residents, and staff. The staff running the session were amazing with the residents. The session was lively and fun, and the team interacted with each person. They knew who needed help and who could manage. This made for an inclusive session where everyone was taking part. The residents were clearly enjoying themselves. There end result was lots of jam tarts which the team explained but be ready for tomorrow, to have with a cup of tea. I can't praise the manager and his team highly enough. There is always a buzz at Kendal Care Home and visiting is a pleasure. Well done to the best team at the best care home! Keep up the amazing work you do every day.
My family have been so impressed with the high-quality level of care given to my husband, whilst on palliative, and End of Life Care. We were always made to feel welcome, and over the last 18 months, the Home has indeed been our second home. The Care and devotion for my husband from all the staff, has been truly amazing and we are so grateful for making his final days so peaceful and caring. Thank you.
I must say on arriving at Kendal Care Home I was pleasantly surprised by the reception area, you would think you were walking into a first-class hotel. I was so happy to see my friend so happy in his environment. He was so pleased to tell me how wonderful the staff were, his room and meals, and could not have wished for more. I would certainly recommend the care home to my friends.
Just the loveliest most relaxed place. The staff are wonderful and all the residents seem very happy - feels like a place where "everyone knows your name". I am so glad my brother is a resident here
My friend had a degenerative condition similar to Motor Neurone Disease. She needed very high levels of help with all tasks and functions and as her speech deteriorated it became challenging to understand her. Some of her carers were exceptionally sensitive and tenacious in their efforts to understand her. The manager engaged with her on a personal level and strove to do everything in his power to make her life more bearable. Several other people - her room cleaner, her occupational therapist, the physiotherapists and the home's medical officer were warm, positive and encouraging and formed meaningful relationships with her. My friend was able to form attachments to these people and her more sensitive carers. Other carers seemed more detached and formal, giving adequate physical care but nothing more. This distressed her. The home is efficiently run. It is large but has a relaxed feel and as a visitor, I always felt welcome. My requests for help in e.g. finding a vase for flowers were always met willingly and cheerfully. I think the home succeeds as far as any large institution can, in creating a feeling of freedom and informatlity. I would certainly recommend it to friends or family members.
Really excellent. Our friend who is a resident was particularly laudatory about the food and loved the soups! On my visits, all staff were most helpful, friendly and effective. The staff all appeared to be enjoying their roles, which is excellent! Well done to all!
Our friend was well cared for. The staff were happy to answer queries, in spite of being very busy. There appeared to be lots of interaction with the clients both in the bedroom and in the lounge. Our friend was very happy with the food.
