View Full Details of Abbot Care HomeMy mother in law loves the home and activities, and is very happy at Abbot Care Home.
Christine has been in Abbot Care Home for just 18 months now and we have been very pleased with the care and attention she has been receiving since she arrived here. If I've had any problem, I have spoken to staff regarding it and has been sorted quickly.
I like the way my mum is cared for and also the way I am made to feel welcome. All the staff are very friendly and always take time to say hello and talk to me too. My mum has been in residence since 2022, and I feel her mood is better in this home despite her illness.
Day staff very helpful and friendly. I like most activities.
It was lovely seeing Sue looking so happy and settled in her room.
Very nice, friendly and helpful staff. My dad's needs are always met. He does like being in the home and he has made lots of new friends. The food is of very good standards. My dad is eating so well. The medical staff look after all his needs. His room is lovely and spacious. The overall care home is kept very well and of good standards.
My mother in law loves it at Abbots Care Home. The care team really look after her and she enjoys all the activities.
I have to say Helen is the most amazing lady we have met. She is caring and loving, she makes my mum's face light up, and always includes her in activities. She is a wonderful asset to the home.
Staff are always welcoming and happy. The home is very clean and well kept. When I see Sue, she talks about activities that she enjoys.
Everyone is friendly and the staff go above and beyond for my aunt, to give her and all residents the best experience. The staff have communicated with family regularly and when needed, and always welcomed us when we visited. Our observations showed us people are treated with kindness, respect and dignity. Staff are very attentive and understand people's individual needs.
I like living here, everyone is so friendly.
Excellent care, and a lovely variety of activities on offer. Food is lovely, staff have listened and made it hotter. Lot of choice . New dining room is lovely and welcoming, everyone is treated well, and made comfortable, a lovely care home
My mum moved into Abbots this week and I really thought she wouldn't settle but within a day she has already made friends and is calm and relaxed there. When I visited I was told she was downstairs in the activity room joining in karaoke. My mum has never in her entire 90 years joined in anything like this and to see her smiling and singing along really made my day. She's joined in karaoke a few times, joined in the coffee morning and been to film club. I can't believe the transformation in such a short space of time. The residents have welcomed her which has really helped and all the staff that I've seen have been absolutely amazing, calm, kind, helpful, cheerful in fact nothing is too much trouble. Abbots has a really lovely homely feel to it and knowing my mum is so happy and settled has really eased the terrible guilt I feel.
The Mallard Suite at The Abbott Care Home is outstanding. All the staff take great pride in their work, creating a warm, happy, and positive atmosphere. The management is strong, robust, and sets consistently high standards. Care here is delivered with genuine compassion and professionalism, making residents feel truly valued. Despite the challenges in the UK care sector, this team delivers excellence every day - a shining example of how care should be.
My brother has been a resident for a year now at the care home. There is always a good welcome and atmosphere within the home. There are plenty of daily organised activities. Any concerns are picked up and acted on promptly, with good communication. I have found the care staff on my brother's unit to be exceptional.
My Mum spent the last several months of her life at Abbot Care Home, from October 2024 until May 2025 after being placed there for end of life care. I cannot thank the staff enough. My Mum knew she was loved and cared for by the staff, I would visit daily and I saw the relationships built between my Mum and all the staff (and I mean all the staff) from the carers, nurses, domestics, managers, activities staff. She was always treated with dignity and respect, she was happy and always had a smile for them, or a little nickname, nothing was too much trouble. Sadly we lost Mum in May this year, but when other charities or company's say they are there for you, but they aren't. It is different with Abbot Care Home, we the family still matter, they check to see how we are doing. If you are looking for a care home for long term care or respite care, from my experience I would recommend them and the staff who work there.
Excellent service and staff all 100%.
Enjoyed my stay, great staff.
My last review was in Feb 2023 when Mum was a very new resident in KFI unit. Now, over 2 years later, I am really pleased to say she's still as happy, now, as she was then. Care is still excellent. She is treated with much kindness and dignity. She enjoys the food and although she does not attend any activities, she enjoys the times activities staff pop in for a chat with her. One thing I feel would improve KFI unit is a dishwasher. I think it would be far more hygienic and also save already overworked and busy carers some valuable time.
Since the day my brother went into Abbott Care Home, Kingfisher 2 Unit I have nothing but praise for this wonderful Home. Everyone of the staff have been just incredible. Always very professional, patient, kind and caring to him and to us as a family whenever we visited. The communication has been brilliant which was very important as we live a long way from the area and whenever I contacted them they always made me feel my brother was a special person in his own right, not just another resident. Nothing was too much trouble and we took great comfort knowing he was being cared for so wonderfully. . We will always be indebted to you and I can honestly say we would not have wanted him to be anywhere else for this last stage of his earthly journey. I can't recommend you highly enough. A heartfelt "thank you" for everything.
