I've been a carer for 15 years. Never having had a break my daughter convinced me to take some respite. I was unsure, out of my comfort zone but so in need of some 'me' time. I booked a week for my Mum. I had my break and picked her up. I was relaxed. I'd rang her every day knowing she was fine and happy. On pick up day my Mum was smiling, still chatting to everyone. Residents and staff. She refused to leave until she had hugged and kissed everyone. They all loved her and she loved them. She fitted in and felt at home despite only staying the week. Since then Mum has stayed quite a few times over the last ten months. However, the difference now is that as soon as she gets out the car someone is hugging her and greeting her with love and happiness to see her. Residents and staff are all genuine and are a family united. Mum has enjoyed her respite and I too have gone away and had my break knowing full well that she is as loved and cared for here as at home. It's a 5 stars from me.

I am the husband of the resident who has been living in the Alder Care Home since the spring of last year. Having visited many care establishments and used respite in a number of them, coming to Alder has proved to be an excellent choice. The home has become very far above our expectations and has become our family. My wife enjoys being here, the facilities are excellent, and the staff are extremely caring and competent. The accommodation is excellent and always very clean. She enjoys the myriad of activities.

I was so worried and anxious about mum moving into a care home for long term care. I needn't of been. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Mum's room and communal areas are immaculate. All the staff at Alder House are so kind, compassionate and genuinely care. The activities team are great with involving residents in the daily activities. All staff are so approachable. In my experience, Alder House Care Home is first class and I am so relieved we have found this wonderful home for my mum.

My wife has been a resident at the home for the last ten months. Staff have been very caring and look after her extremely well; they have tremendous patience. I am very grateful for the way they look after her. The manager has been very supportive of me at a low point in my life.

Mum was with Alder House for 7 weeks and received first class care, 100% of the time. the management team, carers, carers assistance gave mum amazing attention & were extremely thoughtful to her needs, both medically & emotionally. The care home is run in an extremely professional manner & my sister and I were provided with fantastic support by everyone connected with mums well being.

The care I received was outstanding; all my needs were met. The staff were very caring. I have no complaints at all and will definitely consider using the facility again.

I moved into Alder House in December 2024 and have made several friends. The staff are excellent.

I felt that I needed to share the expertise and care of this care home. I am sure that if you are thinking of placing your loved one into short-term or long-term care then your anxieties would be raised. I remember all the fears and guilt I felt when I was looking for a care home for my mother. My mother is my life and her happiness is priceless. She raised 6 children and faced many adversities in her life and for me to allow others with my mother was extremely hard for me. I eventually found Alder House, the management is excellent the carers are amazing, the food is excellent and the cleanliness is amazing. The entertainment staff all go that extra mile. The home has become part of my family, they not only support and care for my mother but they are all there for me and my family. If you want the best for your loved one then trust me you will not find better than Alder House. Please visit and I promise you, you will not be disappointed. I would live here if needed.

Absolutely wonderful place. The staff are like our family, the manager is the most caring person I've ever met. I would highly recommend anyone's loved ones being here. The whole place is filled with love and laughter, the environment everyone would want to be around.

Looking for somewhere that gives that extra care for my father. Manager could not have been more supportive. Did not feel rushed gave me support as well as my father. I have been to a number of residential sites and this was by far the most welcoming open-door policy. Looked around and spoke to some residents randomly and all looked happy appearances were excellent and were being social. Well done to the manager and team.

The staff here are so amazing they are dedicated and caring, they go above and beyond. The rooms are spotlessly clean as is the whole place throughout the manager of the home is an absolute angel and a great asset to the place so kind and caring with her leading her team no wonder, it's a remarkable place for anyone to place their loved ones safe in the knowledge, they will be well looked after spoilt in fact truly 5-star ratings best care home ever.

My lovely sister is in Alder House, her care is outstanding, honestly, I was overwhelmed. I was so worried before but at last, I can relax. I go every day to see her with no restrictions at all, such a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are amazing and so welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. There's a facility to stay if required too. Very highly recommended.

The staff was very nice and caring, respectful of everyone's wishes and needs, the facilities standards were super and rooms were excellent. Everyone was made to feel welcome and at home.

From the minute my mother-in-law arrived at Alder House Care Home, we knew she was in safe hands. The staff are absolutely lovely and go above and beyond to make sure the residents are looked after and given exceptional care. The home is beautiful, very clean and always feels welcoming. The food always looks delicious and it's one of the many things my mother-in-law always compliments. There are lots of activities throughout the day and it's lovely to see the residents playing games of scrabble and dominoes. A brilliant home, I can't speak highly enough about it.

My mum was offered Alder House Care Home as a respite for my family as her health has declined quite significantly due to a brain tumour. We have been absolutely blessed to have this opportunity. As well as the home being 2 minutes away from us, there are no issues with parking, there are no restrictions on visiting hours or how many visitors at a time, and we can take our dogs to visit. The room is spacious, comfortable and clean. My mum has 24-hour support from the team, and they are all our heroes. Nothing is too big or too much, they are always happy to help, they are all amazing from the care team to the maintenance and the cleaners. There are so many endless benefits, even the food is fantastic. My mum has managed to gain 5kg within 3 weeks. I could never thank the team enough for their help and support, we are so very grateful.

My father was admitted with cancer and needed end-of-life care. The staff and the home were amazing. They looked after him lovely and I am extremely grateful for their care.
