View Full Details of Balmoral by NorthcareI am very pleased I chose the Balmoral nursing home for my Mum. The staff are so friendly, caring kind and thoughtful. The surroundings in the home are nothing short of five star. My mum loves the activities they put on and I am reassured she is well cared for at this vulnerable time of her like. It's heart warming to see her so happy.
Putting our Mum into care was never going to happen, however, her Alzheimer's worsened and we could no longer keep her safe at home. It's been a rocky road for her as she had lived in the same home for 56 years and couldn't understand where she was. The nursing staff, the carers and the hospitality team have all been so caring to her and make her feel safe and welcome in her new environment. The home is spotless and the bedrooms and communal areas are so inviting, and the garden is a huge bonus with many activities going on with our warmer weather. Communication from the nurses has been a huge positive for us on Mums more challenging days, they always welcome us and give us up to date reports either when visiting or a phone call. Mum recently suffered a TIA stroke, we had a call to tell us what was happening, they called an ambulance and sent a carer with her in the ambulance to stay with her until we could get to the hospital. We recommend The Balmoral 100%
I've been so impressed with every aspect of Balmoral. Every member of staff has been so welcoming and friendly, even those who don't know us. I'd dreaded a time where we'd have to 'put Dad into a care home' but this doesn't feel like that at all. It's more like a 5* hotel & an opportunity for him to live a far better life in beautiful surroundings with all the care he needs. He regularly tells us how incredible it is - the staff, the food (he can even choose how brown he wants his toast!), and how spotless his room is. We had concerns about an unwanted visitor, but the staff explained their process and handled it perfectly. Dad hasn't taken part in activities but the schedule looks great. I'm still giving that a 5* rating as him not taking part is no reflection on the offerings. The care has been amazing, and any health concerns we've raised have been dealt with immediately. Staff include Dad in every conversation and decision. I'm so thankful to have found you for him. Thank you!
From the minute we entered the building we were happy with what we saw + experienced. A nice family atmosphere. Spotless, sweet smelling rooms. Patients were comforted whenever they were distressed + food looked good plenty of it. My husband's medical care has been excellent and well attended. He does not always appreciate this but we as family do.
The care my husband, who has had a major stroke, has received at the Balmoral has been exemplary. Dedicated, skilled staff at all levels in all roles and responsibilities maintain a calm and very caring environment. They are always good humoured and patient in what can be challenging situations. I am always greeted by name and with a smile, and staff somehow manage to seem never too busy to listen, to reassure. There is on going observation and monitoring of my husband's health and an impressively a rapid response to several potential emergencies that required hospital admission. Strategies that maximise opportunities to improve existing health issues have been developed. The Brasserie has been a delightful place for us to enjoy some quality moments together at an exceptionally difficult time. The Balmoral team are providing outstanding nursing care to my husband and outstanding support - for which I will always be grateful -to myself.
Finding the perfect nursing home for my aunt started with one phone call. Such a friendly voice answered the phone and a visit was arranged. Two days later my aunt was visited in hospital by one of the senior staff which was lovely. I had 3 criteria visiting nursing homes. The smell; how cared for and happy the residents looked; how engaged and communicative the staff were. The Balmoral exceeded my expectations and we had chosen her new home! Within 10 days, my aunt had moved from hospital to the Balmoral and has been so happy and settled there from day one. We were welcomed with afternoon tea and kindness and lots of laughter. All staff have shown such care, compassion and encouragement for joining in all the fun and varied activities which are twice a day! It's amazing. The Leadership and their visibility and involvement with staff, residents and visitors is the key to this incredible care home. Whatever you ask, it's like a magic wand, its done! Always done with smiles.
In February this year, my husband required full time care, having a long term terminal illness and dementia. We assessed several care homes, and found Balmoral to be the best for us. We are very happy with the care and attention he receives from all of the staff. The staff make everyone very welcome and they know all the regular visitors by name. All are made to feel very welcome in Balmoral. Due to his condition, my husband has had several hospital visits. He is always accompanied by a member of staff who stays with him and brings him back. He has settled in well and enjoys the facilities and activities in Balmoral.
The staff and management at Balmoral are amazing. My father was previously a resident in another Northcare Home and when it came time for my mother to also need care for Alzheimer's, it was wonderful that all our family were remembered by the owners, manager and many of the staff. The transition to care was difficult for my mother to accept but her individual and challenging needs have been met with kindness, compassion, professionalism and endless patience over the last eight months. That care extends to family members too as we navigate our emotions at this time. I receive regular updates and can talk to staff anytime I need. The facilities and activities are of a very high standard, with my mother gradually coming round to participation. It is incredibly reassuring that my mother is safe and well, thanks to every single member of staff in every role.
I continue to be delighted with the care my aunt is receiving at Balmoral Care Home. She is as happy as she can be - as a frail 90-year-old - and, more importantly, safe. I have always been impressed by the extent of communication between staff at the home and myself: I'm the Power of Attorney. And the hospitality staff are just brilliant: it's lovely to be offered a glass of wine when I'm visiting!
It was with a heavy heart that I found myself in the position of finding a care home for a very dear, elderly friend, who has no family. My spirits were lifted when I entered Balmoral. The airy atmosphere throughout, and the beautifully appointed interior made me feel less anxious. On a comprehensive tour, I was able to see the amazing facilities. Meeting the staff, further confirmed my confidence in the high standard of care. I felt an abundance of kindness flowing from every member of staff. My friend has now been a resident at Balmoral for over one month and my expectations have become reality. As a regular visitor now I am able to appreciate the excellent visiting facilities The stunning brasserie coffee shop provides the perfect environment for visits. I have also discovered the splendid range of activities. Recently there was a showing of a romance film in-house cinema which my friend loved. I am so glad I found Balmoral.
My husband has been a resident in this home for twelve months and we have been more than happy with the medical and social care he has received. The staff are all committed to giving residents the best quality of life. There are many social events and facilities to support these. Top quality.
At a very difficult time I had to identify somewhere for my relative to go after a lengthy hospital stay. On contacting the home the care manager arranged a visit. During the visit we were shown around and met with staff and other residents. We have all got to know each other over the past few months. The staff on Braemar Suite are excellent they understand my relative's needs and I am reassured that she is being looked after to a very high standard. The senior staff are always available to talk through care plan and offer reassurance. The activities that are put on are varied and recently all residents and staff enjoyed a BBQ. All staff at Balmoral are professional and friendly from the minute you meet the receptionists to the housekeeping and catering staff they are all keen to support and make individuals stay as comfortable as possible.
