From Robyn being the 'first face' when contacting The Balmoral, through to James in the Brasserie to the staff in the Culzean Suite, we could not have been more reassured that this was going to be the correct decision on such a major "Life" move. After that first visit, Henty was in no doubt that she was taking up residency, and it proved to be an excellent decision. The home is wonderfully appointed; the staff are caring and attentive and the activities are plentiful and enriching. How many 93-year-olds do you know who start learning Spanish in between keep fit classes and trips to the Burrell Collection? Latterly, as Henty's health declined, every aspect of her care was meticulous and loving (and that latter term is not used lightly). During the last week, the staff's empathy in looking after me with the same level of care as offered to Henty was humbling. You were all wonderful. Every one of you. Thank you. I'd recommend the Balmoral to anyone.

She had a successful operation to replace the broken plate. She then suffered a stroke. When discharged from hospital she was rather frail, physically but mentally very sharp. Her recovery in the community was hindered by lack of physiotherapy. She spent two weeks in Balmoral with remarkable results!

The staff on shift the night he passed could not have been more supportive in attending to his and our needs. The respect shown by all staff the following morning when he left was very moving and a great comfort. The family will always be very grateful to them for helping to make our father's passing so peaceful and dignified and for their support to us in our grief.

From the moment we walked through the front door, we had a good feeling. Choosing a care home is difficult and emotional, but the staff were wonderful with us and mum. They took time to listen to our requirements, mum's likes and dislikes, and were kind and empathetic to mum as she transitioned from home. Nothing was too much trouble. We are now 2 years down the line and feel that mum is well and truly part of the Balmoral family. We are grateful to all the staff for the care they provide and, more importantly, the manner in which they provide it. The nursing staff, healthcare support workers, hospitality, front of house, housekeeping are all truly amazing people and treat mum with such dignity, respect and compassion. We feel confident knowing mum is in good hands. There's never a dull moment, Balmoral have a full schedule of activities which residents can choose to take part in. Mum is not so keen on the dancing, but will happily have a wee prosecco! We would 100% recommend.

Our family member recently moved to The Balmoral. From our first visit with Robyn at Front of House we were treated with respect and kindness.She answered our many questions and made us feel that nothing is too much trouble. That attitude is shared by the whole staff team. My sister in law receives wonderful personal care from Care Staff who know her likes/dislikes and specific needs. Hospitality Staff provide a variety of meals/snacks to suit her dietary needs and Housekeeping maintain her clothes and room to a high standard. The Nursing staff are amazing. They communicate with us as a family on a regular basis, highlighting any changes in her condition and ensuring her wellbeing at all times. She takes part, as she chooses, in a variety of impressive activities from the monthly programme. There is a warm and friendly private day room where she can relax and interact with other residents. We could not be happier with the quality of care given and highly recommend The Balmoral.

I can only say that we are even happier with our Mum's care. All of the team, from being greeted into the home, updated with any health concerns by the nurses, and further updated on Mum's wellbeing by the carers has been fantastic. Our Mum is constantly monitored, recently she was clutching her chest, and as she is mostly non-verbal and couldn't say what was wrong, they immediately checked her oxygen levels and blood pressure which weren't right, phoned us for permission to call an ambulance, got her to hospital, and it turned out to be blood clots on her lungs. Mum was treated for 4 days and is now back at Balmoral as if nothing had happened. We arrived the other day to find a miniature therapy pony visiting. The residents were so happy to meet and stroke the pony, just amazing. The families are invited to join their relatives at the summer barbeque, the brasserie quiz, Mother's day afternoon tea and other fantastic events. Would recommend 100%

A classically trained chef with a foundation in fine dining, Martin has dedicated his career not only to the pursuit of culinary excellence but to using food as a tool for care, comfort, and community.His journey began in high-end restaurants, including a prestigious country house venue in England where he spent seven years refining his craft. During this time, He also embraced a new chapter as a family man, welcoming two of his three children while living down south with his partner and eldest son. In the restaurant, He was part of a team that catered weekly lavish weddings and special events, consistently delivering fine dining at scale.
Martin later took on a vital role at a countryside restaurant and deli owned by Lord and Lady Harriet and Gavin Hamilton. It was there that he was honoured to contribute a signature recipe to the cookbook Made in Shropshire—a publication featuring some of the county’s top chefs and establishments.
Following this, Martin was headhunted to become Head Chef at a high-end retirement home, which later transitioned into a care home. It was during this period that he discovered his passion for elevating food standards in care environments. His efforts were recognised when he was entered into the NACC Chef of the Year competition. He placed second nationally and was invited to showcase care home cuisine at a live cook-off at Birmingham’s NEC during the Good Food Show.That same year, He began a two-year partnership with Tetley Tea as their brand ambassador.
