Review of Balmoral by Northcare from Julie S (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My father passed away in Balmoral last month and the care and attention he received from staff in his last few days was exceptional. He was kept very comfortable and checked regularly by the nurse. The family were well looked after too, with lots of comfort, tea and sandwiches.

The staff on shift the night he passed could not have been more supportive in attending to his and our needs. The respect shown by all staff the following morning when he left was very moving and a great comfort. The family will always be very grateful to them for helping to make our father's passing so peaceful and dignified and for their support to us in our grief.

Reply from Robyn Cooper, Administrator at Balmoral by Northcare

Review of Clarkston House from Ann M (Respite Resident) published on 20 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I have received excellent care and support from all staff during my stay. Everyone has been friendly, kind and efficient, making me feel welcome. The staff organised a private dining experience for my birthday with the other residents, which made me feel truly spoiled. As I was staying at Clarkston House for respite, I have been greatly supported to maintain my independence, which will benefit me on my return home. My en-suite room has been beautifully decorated to very high standards and I have enjoyed taking daily walks in the lovely garden. Overall I have had a wonderful experience at Clarkston House and would happily recommend it to my friends and family.

Review of Winton Suites by Northcare from Carole F (Wife of Resident) published on 14 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My husband is receiving outstanding care at Winton Suites. With late stage Parkinsons Disease, plus additional health issues, he has complex physical and mental needs. Winton Suites does more than provide lovely, comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting; it is a place where my husband feels safe and where I am confident he will be well looked after.

From the first, families are welcomed and every effort is made to listen to and respond to requests. Communication, so important, especially during stressful times has been prompt and helpful and nurses have been quick to liaise with other health services when needed. Above all, it is clear that establishing good relations with residents is a key priority in this home. Staff are more than well trained professionals; they are caring. Our thanks to you all.

I've been very impressed by Clarkston House. The most important aspect is the care. Staff treat residents with respect and care. They engage with residents with sensitivity, kindness and good humour. The clinical care seems good and communication about my relative's health has been very good. Real efforts have been made by the care home to cater for what matters to my relative. The activities provided are great and designed to promote wellbeing. The management team are approachable and helpful. All of this provides reassurance about my relative's wellbeing and her future care.

Review of Northcare Residences, Glasgow from Vickie K (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Our family could not be happier with the care my mother has received at Northcare Residences. Being a family-owned care home truly makes a difference. There is a genuine warmth throughout the home, and everyone treats the residents with the kindness, respect, and compassion you would hope your own family would receive.

The staff are exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. They take the time to get to know each resident personally and go above and beyond to make everyone feel valued, safe, and comfortable. It is evident that they genuinely love what they do.

The accommodations are beautiful, welcoming, and impeccably maintained, creating a lovely place to call home. We are also so impressed by the wide variety of activities offered every day, which keep residents engaged, active, and socially connected.

The dedication and professionalism of everyone at Northcare Residences have given our family complete peace of mind. We are deeply grateful for the outstanding care

Review of Clarkston House from L S (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Eight months ago when Mum could no longer live independently at home, the search commenced for an excellent care home for her. Clarkston House has provided the 5 star care that her family sought. Mum has been treated with dignity, respect, kindness and humour from management and staff. They have shown an interest in her life story from her arrival. There is a welcome for the family when they visit and updates are offered on mum's day, what she eats, her health or concerns, and tea and biscuits/cakes are always offered. Any concerns or suggestions that the family have are acted upon immediately by all staff and management. Mum's bright and airy bedroom suite looks onto a patio and garden area. Clarkston House is decorated throughout to a high standard, with a cinema, a hairdressers and a cocktail/events room. It is clean and comfortable for its residents who can get together in the sitting room, for dining, socialising, activities or watching TV. Mum enjoys the yoga/dancing and musical activities. To conclude, this is all providing Mum with the best quality of care at this stage in her life.

Review of Winton Suites by Northcare from Kirsty S (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My dad has returned home from a 2 week respite stay in Winton Suites - July 2026.
Communication with the team prior to dad being accepted was clear and professional. A full assessment of his needs was completed over the telephone with myself before being offered a respite placement.
Throughout the process communication was professional but warm and I felt able to ask questions and provide info. I felt reassured and relaxed the whole team were aware of all my dads needs and I definitely felt the team only wished to provide high level care to support him.
On dad's arrival the welcome was warm and friendly, we were given a lovely afternoon tea in the Brasserie allowing us to spend some time together before I left. Dad was shown to his room and facilities of Winton - all of a high standard.

It id the first time I have accessed this type of support for my dad and I would have absolutely no hesitation in returning to Winton in the future. My dad thoroughly enjoyed his stay!!

My Aunt was in Clarkston House for 16 months. When she arrived, the staff all called in to see her and introduced themselves. They were all like family and they couldn't have done enough for her. She didn't take part in many of the activities but there were plenty to choose from. She enjoyed getting her hair and nails done! The food was lovely and she enjoyed the cakes with her afternoon tea. If we arrived at the right time, we got one too! The staff at Clarkston House not only supported my aunt, but supported us, her family too. We got a warm welcome at reception and also from the nurses and carers upstairs. As my aunt got more frail the staff were so caring and attentive . I would have no hesitation in recommending Clarkston House to anyone thinking of putting a loved one into care.

Staff are all lovely and very helpful.
If mum feels unwell and a Dr is required the staff deal with everything and call me to let me know why Dr was called, and outcome of the visit, this takes so much pressure off of my sister and myself.
Mum is settled and happy which is the main thing, and again the staff has helped to make mum very welcome.

A massive huge thanks to all staff at Lindsayfield, your dedication and hardwork is very much appreciated.

Review of Northcare Suites Care Home from David M (Son of Resident) published on 13 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mum spent one week in respite care here as a potential model for more respite or permanent residence should that need arise.
From the minute I walked into the premises with my mum for a pre-residential visit, Northcare had a special feel about it. We were given a short tour and the feeling I had walking through the front door continued through the whole premises. My mum liked it which was key to a happy stay.
All the staff, without exception, were excellent and the premises themselves, first class. I couldn't fault anything about it any way. It feels more like a casual, familiar, high quality hotel than a care home, but this is not to question the care. There is a positivity about the place and everyone in it which is hugely commendable; nothing is too much trouble and there is a positive response to any question or request - and I had plenty.

If this is the sustainable standard, I won't be looking anywhere else.
