Northcare Suites Care Home Reviews (39)
Northcare Suites Care Home has a Review Score of 9.9 (9.911) out of 10, based on 31 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Northcare Suites Care Home has 39 reviews.
From the minute I walked into the premises with my mum for a pre-residential visit, Northcare had a special feel about it. We were given a short tour and the feeling I had walking through the front door continued through the whole premises. My mum liked it which was key to a happy stay.
All the staff, without exception, were excellent and the premises themselves, first class. I couldn't fault anything about it any way. It feels more like a casual, familiar, high quality hotel than a care home, but this is not to question the care. There is a positivity about the place and everyone in it which is hugely commendable; nothing is too much trouble and there is a positive response to any question or request - and I had plenty.
If this is the sustainable standard, I won't be looking anywhere else.
Your kind words about our team and the atmosphere at Northcare mean a great deal to us. We work hard to create a warm,...
Overall I found Northcare Suites to be faultless from start to finish. This gives me great comfort, knowing that as my mother's care needs increase, she may eventually move in full-time to this facility, where I know she will be safe, happy and well cared for. To any of the staff who read this - thank you!
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. We are delighted to hear that mum enjoyed her respite stay with us and that both she and your family felt supported throughout her time at Northcare Suites.
Your kind words about the care, amenities, and overall experience mean a great deal to us....
Transferring my 86-year-old Mum from another care home was a real risk I would never have considered, were it not for her strong desire to return to Edinburgh and how exceptional Northcare Suites appeared. Within just over a week, it has absolutely exceeded every expectation.
The facilities are luxurious yet wonderfully homely, but what truly sets Northcare Suites apart is the people. Without exception, every member of staff we encountered was kind, polite, friendly and genuinely caring. From the front of house team to the those who bring morning and afternoon tea with a cheerful smile, it has been a model of quality and efficiency.
If considering Northcare Suites from a distance, as I was from the other side of the world, the reality lives up to the promise. The improvement in Mum's happiness and wellbeing speaks for itself, and I feel completely confident leaving her in their care.
Thank you so much for your incredibly thoughtful review. We are truly honoured that you selected Northcare Suites for Mum's new home and care especially given the distance involved and the significance of such a major decision.
It means the world to hear that your Mum has settled in so well and...
There is so much to recommend about Northcare Suites Care Home. The most important point is that the staff are very caring and friendly- not just to my Mother but also to all her visitors! An excellent GP practice covers Northcare Suites for medical needs. The facilities are extensive because there is a cinema, a hairdresser, a private dining room (to celebrate birthdays) and a brasserie, to which you can take your relative for the best shortbread in Edinburgh (and other cakes). There are plenty of activities for the Residents, such as visiting singers, chair based exercises and even trips out. The view from the Brasserie to Edinburgh castle and the Pentlands is superb! The staff go the extra mile for special days, such as Mothers' Day and the Summer Barbecue. Sara B.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review. We're truly delighted to hear how happy you are with the care mum receives at Northcare Suites.
It means a great deal to our entire team that you've highlighted their kindness and friendliness-not only towards residents but also...
Overall my parents experience was very good with one or two very minor things which could be improved (they didn't score it 5 but thought it closer to around 4.8 out of 5).
My parents found it difficult to control the temperature in their rooms, as the control was in a poorly lit part of the room and was difficult for them to move and control.
No waste paper bin in the room (other than in the bathroom).
The potential of the garden area was not exploited to make it more stimulating and seemed underused by the residents.
Most days the food was very good but on the odd occasion it didn't quite meet expectations.
No books available, which would have been a nice addition.
As stated, the above were the very minor issues and overall they enjoyed their stay and would recommend the care home to anyone.
We're delighted to hear that your parents had such a positive experience overall and that they would recommend us-this truly means a great deal to our team.
Thank you again for your kind words and constructive feedback-it...
We as a family are delighted with the care, the surroundings and the welcome we get when visiting. Thank you to all involved
We understand what a big and emotional decision this must have been for both mum and your family, and it...
I would recommend this for anyone. I hope this level of care and this amazing environment will be available for me when it's time.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review Sue and for taking the time to share your experience with Northcare Suites. It truly means a lot to our whole team.
We're delighted to hear that your uncle has settled in so well and that Northcare Suites has become a place he feels proud to call home....
A wonderfully caring environment for a respite break from surgery for my mum who fell and broke her hip at the age of 86. Staff were friendly, professional and approachable at all times. Menu choices were great. All the staff were pleasant, polite, professional and approachable. My mum was very apprehensive beforehand but she was well cared for and made to feel welcome. The addition of a very well appointed brasserie serving teas/coffees/home made cakes for visitors along with a hairdressing facility and cinema, allow me to say that I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone. looking for both respite care or a long term care option for their relatives.
We're truly delighted to hear that your mum felt well cared for and welcomed during her respite stay with us, especially after what must have been a very difficult time following her fall and surgery. It means a great deal to know that our team helped ease her apprehension and made her feel...
All the staff were so pleasant, polite, professional and friendly. I was very apprehensive beforehand but my husband was so well cared for. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone.
We are delighted that you had a lovely experience with us and your husband enjoyed his stay.
Do not hesitate to contact us in the future if you ever need us,

A wonderfully caring environment for a respite break post surgery. Staff friendly and approachable at all times. Menu choices superb.
Thank you for your kind review Hilary. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay here with us at Northcare Suites and we were happy we could help you recover well. I will pass on to our team who looked after you. We hope you have settled in well at home and are recovering well.
Despite almost round the clock care it became clear that she needed support 24 hours a day.
The team from North care Suites assessed and accepted her.
Unfortunately she took a sudden turn for the worse and care at home became distressing for her and for us as a family, recognising we could not meet her needs. Despite this change Northcare suites accepted her for end of life care.
From the moment they began caring for her they extended that compassion to us, a grieving family. The person centered care was kind and compassionate, the very best in end of life care in a beautiful environment.
Staff were always kind, never walked by without offering support and kindness, and a cup of tea.
As a nurse of more than 25 years I cannot express my appreciation enough. My grandma was so proud I went into to nursing a this team demonstrate the very best of the profession.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a deeply moving review. We are truly honoured that your family entrusted Northcare Suites with your grandma's care at such an important and emotional time.
We are very sorry for your loss, and we're grateful that we were able to support both...
The service has been outstanding in the support of our father and wider family, since my father became a resident at the end of November 2025.
Absolutely every staff member has been caring, professional, kind and hard working in every interaction with our whole family.
Cannot recommend the service enough.
Thank you very much for the kind review of our home at Northcare Suites. We are delighted to hear that you have all been made to feel welcome and that dad has settled in well. We are here to support you all every step of the way. Please do let us know anything you need.
My Mum needed some respite care following hospitalisation. From first contact all the staff were excellent. Mum stayed 3 weeks and got just the care and attention we hoped for. The room and facilities are all first class but it is the staff which is the differentiator. Debbie and Kirsty were very helpful and supportive and they obviously recruit and manage the staff very well. The atmosphere seems very genuine and caring. All the staff I met seemed compassionate and had time to look after Mum. Very impressive. Well done everybody and thank you
If you ever need anything please do let us know, Best Wishes,
Kirsty

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback. We're delighted to hear how happy you are with the care your dad receives, and it's wonderful that you enjoy visiting and experiencing the welcoming atmosphere here. We're glad you've had the chance to enjoy the Brasserie too - the cakes are a definite favourite!
