View Full Details of Bucklers LodgeI don't know what has happened because the communication has become so poor, but this once very good care home is in a very poorly managed situation, I would strongly recommend anybody to be extremely carefully at looking at a Greensleeves Owned Care Home at the moment because the way they are mismanaging Bucklers Lodge at the moment is VERY concerning! Please check the recent care commission review
Mum was in Bucklers Lodge for just under a year, initially she was on the second floor which was more residential (mum has dementia) but it was felt it would be more detrimental for her to be on the first floor ( Dementia floor). On the Greensleeves website it states they take mild to moderate dementia residents but dementia does not stop at moderate it progresses, mums dementia did progress so she was moved to the first floor and this is where her care deteriorated. I would really like to put everything down about the care or lack of it but it probably wouldn't be printed on this website but the Care Quality Commission and Social Services have all the details. Bucklers Lodge evicted mum without any notice because her of Dementia, they said they couldn't meet her needs so sent her to hospital where she spent nearly three weeks and it's not the first time they have done this to a resident as we have found out. Mum is now safe and in a care home that understands dementia.
The home, the staff are all excellent and know and understand the requirements for my dad. He is well fed, the food is excellent. Dad has gained good weight and is very happy. Fantastic home, well designed a wonderful place for residents and staff alike.
My wife became a resident at Bucklers Lodge in February. For me to loose the love of my life to the care of professionals was a huge decision. I had been her carer for 3 years and it was beginning to take its toll on my own well being. From the moment of her taking up residence the relief at knowing she was in such better hands than mine in her care and stability. I have nothing but praise for all the staff for their understanding and patience with all the residents. Above all my life has begun to return to a level of normality, mainly because of the knowledge that I have been usurped as main carer. Safe in the knowledge that my sweetheart is in the best of hands. Thank you all the carers at BL.
My wife has been a resident at Bucklers Lodge for just over a year, it wasn't an easy decision for me to place her in care, but after caring for her for 6 years at home I realised I wasn't best person to provide all her needs, my wife is on the second floor, she has a lovely room with a pleasant outlook, she is safe, warm and well cared for, she always looks well groomed and happy, everyone knows her and she is well looked after by all the staff, they all know her name and escort her to the various activities she takes part in, when I visit her she is very cheerful, one of the things she always says is "I like coming here, because everyone is so friendly, or it is very peaceful" All in all it is probably the best decision I have ever made and I would like to thank all the staff at Bucklers Lodge for making my wife's life a little happier
The most caring , clean environment for my mum who has Dementia. The ladies on reception are so welcoming which makes it easier for us on tough days . My mum loves every single carer , as she has been there a while now they know how to manage her and keep her as stress free and happy as possible . She genuinely is happy and the hallucinations that she was having at her own home stopped the day she moved into Buckler's . I can ask all sorts of questions and nobody ever minds . Everyone has made a really tough time a lot easier and I never have to worry about mum . We cannot recommend Bucklers lodge enough . Genuinely kind people who look after their residents and families . Which makes it easier to chat to other families who are going through the same thing . What could've been a very lonely and frightening time has been made easier by these professionals who care and we will always been very grateful for so many happy memories at a very sad time .
The staff are always very helpful and happy to stop what they are doing and answer any questions. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The whole building is quite new so everything looks smart. The manager is very engaged and knowledgeable about all the residents.
A fabulous welcome for my elderly cousin. Everyone introduced themselves and welcomed him. The senior was even at the door to meet him on his arrival. Each person was very understanding about how big the change was for him. Thank you.
Have just completed the six-week trial period and have absolutely nothing but praise for the treatment, care and brilliant organisation we have met at Bucklers Lodge. The lodge itself is not only very comfortable, it has been decorated and furnished in a well-thought-out way, in the most excellent taste. Our warmest congratulations to all concerned.
Lovely setting and a wonderfully relaxing place to visit my Mum. Staff are all very helpful and kind. Mum's room is on the top floor with a super panoramic view of the local park. I've shared lunch with her and it's been really great food.
My mother went into respite for two weeks. I was very anxious as I had looked at a home for this purpose a few months ago and came away very uneasy and didn’t go through with it. From the moment I made contact to the moment I brought her back home has been made so easy for both of us. All the staff are very welcoming, it has a lovely, calm atmosphere with good facilities. But most importantly, every single member of staff has treated my mother with nothing but kindness. Nothing is too much trouble, a cup of tea, a hug and a chat. Mum is inclined to get anxious and upset easily but there was always someone to sit with her and calm her. The care is exceptional and I feel very relieved that I know she will be safe, loved and looked after. Since she came home, she hasn’t stopped praising every aspect of the home. I will definitely be taking her there again. Thank you all.
I spent a long while researching and visiting various care homes in the area, and Bucklers Lodge came out way ahead of the others. It is modern, spacious, light and vibrant - not a word you would expect to relate to a care home. The management are effective and efficient, the care staff are diligent and approachable. They take time to get to know the people they care for, and this shows in the way the whole place feels whenever I have visited. The amenities are first rate, the rooms clean and regularly tidied, and the whole place has a real buzz. This is mostly shown on the faces of the those who call Bucklers Lodge “home”. I try and make a point of speaking to as many other residents as I can when I visit, and the overwhelming feedback is very positive.
I came out of hospital knowing I was unable to care for myself. My son made arrangements and I came to Bucklers Lodge the following day. I was made very welcome and although my stable is only for two weeks my care has been good. The staff caring and fun. Entertainment enjoyable. Rooms pleasant furnished and large. I arrived mere shadow of myself and left feeling almost normal. Thank you Bucklers Lodge .
Bucklers Lodge is an outstanding care home. It's a home-from-home.
Offers a warm, confident and competent welcome to new residents in a great environment. Care and support are excellent, and recognition of the emotional transition needs of a client, sacrificing their past to live in a new community, is compassionate. Care, activities and team are hard-working and thoughtful!
Everything is superb.
My mother has been at Bucklers Lodge for three weeks. I have found the carers to be nothing short of professional. Their caring attitude is excellent. In addition, the staff, front of house, housekeeping and the activities are all friendly, helpful and efficient. The food is amazing, so beautifully presented too. The facilities and location are first-class.
My nanny has been living at Bucklers Lodge since 2022. She was very apprehensive about moving into a care home, but she has been very happy at Bicklers Lodge and now thinks of it as home. The home has lovely facilities, great outdoor space and fantastic views. The staff are friendly, caring and welcoming. We would definitely recommend Bucklers Lodge to other families.
I visit my friend here regularly and the staff are all so helpful. You can see they really care and offer support, the care manager helps sort out any issues and is well-seen within the home which is nice to see. The food looks amazing and always fresh cakes on display. Would definitely like to live here myself. Well done all.
My mother has settled into Bucklers Lodge very well, having been very resistant to a move into a care home. The staff have all been fantastic in helping her to settle and feel welcome. The facilities are great, with a cafe and cinema along with an arts and crafts room and library. My mother is usually a fussy eater, but is enjoying the food which is plentiful. I would definitely recommend Bucklers Lodge.
