I have been visiting for over a year and always found her very well looked after. The staff are courteous and helpful and are always trying to keep a cheerful atmosphere. The premises are super clean and very well maintained. The care home provides a lot of activities, social and physical, to keep
the residents in a cheerful mood.
Overall, an excellent 'home' for the residents.

This home is good in many ways - less so in others. Its strongest point is its setting in the beautify Whiteley Village, followed by the decent build quality of the home.
Staff care varies by individual - some are excellent (though two of these have recently left), and I think they all mean well,
but some are variable. There seems to be a high turnover of staff, which is a significant point as knowing the residents and their needs is important.
Sometimes the basics are overlooked or got wrong - including some obviously flawed processes. There was also considerable disruption when the new company took over a while back, with mixed messages and u-turns on commitments which significantly dented trust, although this seems to have settled more recently.
Like most care homes, this one is eye-wateringly expensive, and the cost does not always seem to be reflected in the experience, hence my score for value.

When you first see Eliza Palmer, you will be very impressed with the reception, cafe area as you move into the residential area, which is also very smart, but not air conditioned. Our room was spacious and well appointed everything you need was there.
Most of the staff are very attentive and
caring, occasionally the residents to the alarm bell was a little slow, especially at night time. Food was generally good, perhaps a little beans not a bad thing.

My father whose sight was severally impaired, was in the nursing home for just under a year. His room was large, light, immaculately clean with a lovely view. The nursing staff were responsive and kept me fully informed on all medical issues. The carers were friendly, supportive and kind when
looking after him. He enjoyed all the meals prepared for him and he liked the variety. He enjoyed the live music events arranged by the entertainment coordinator. My father became confined to his room as his health deteriorated and it would have been nice for the home to have someone to spend a little time to chat to room-bound residents.

I moved into the Eliza Palmer Home in January 2024 under the care of the current owner. Within a few months a meeting was called and the residents were told Eliza Palmer had been sold to Kingsley House Trust. We were assured the move would be seamless with improvements. Sadly the care went downhill,
it was rushed, up late to go to activities. Staff were leaving and the care at night was down to 1 carer for 15 residents. Activities have become less as the organiser is carer trained and helps out with the staff shortages. The new kitchen and chefs have improved the meal quality. I love my suite. The view from my window is of the gardens enjoyed by some of the residents. Sadly I do not consider the high rent value for money.

Dad is well cared for. Good nursing, caring and helpful staff.

Our mother first attended Eliza Palmer at the height of Covid and we were immediately impressed with the duty of care and hygiene levels in the newly built facility. The last few years mum has experienced a cognitive decline, with communication difficult at times. However, she has always been very
content and happy with her carers, the food and room facilities. Kingsley Healthcare have recently acquired the home and I cannot express enough gratitude and admiration for the levels of care and regular communication we have about mum and her condition. The team are first class and we have complete confidence in mum's care and safeguarding.
