My family , visiting friends and I are all of the same mind that you are providing a safe clean and comfortable space for my wife who has been happily with you since January . We are all constantly amazed at the caring and dedicated manner of management , nurses and all staff , and always with a cheerful smile ! This is a welcoming home from home !

Highly recommend Gilmerton Care Home to anyone looking for care for their loved one. A warm welcome from Management & Admin to the excellent care my father in-law receives. The home is always clean and free from smells and the staff can't do enough to help.

My wife will have been in the home for 6 years on the 19th August. It is a brilliant home from the minute you walk in the door. The girls in reception always speak and ask how you are then there is the staff how are extra special they have a very low turn=over so everyone knows everybodys needs. I am often asked how my wife is and say I could not have a better home. I go to bed at night and dont worry. I know she is being well looked after.

Cannot fault the home at all. Staff are attentive and caring- not only to resident but family too. Kept well informed and supported. Mum kept clean, healthy and well looked after.

Overall this is a lovely care home with hard working staff, they are good at what they do. Keeping you updated if there's any issues and very polite & friendly when you visit.

My father moved into Gilmerton Care Home in November 2024 for long term care. All the care givers have been great. There is great communication with myself between the 2 nurses on my dad's wing (Gladstone). It's taking my dad a while to settle in as it's a massive change for him, but everyone is being very understanding and contacting me when he is upset and needs to talk to me. I'm very happy with the care my dad is getting and find all the staff very easy to approach if I have any questions.

My mum has been a resident at Gilmerton Care Home for a number of years now. I am very happy with the care she received. My mum is very happy in the home and I have no concern about her safety or wellbeing, she enjoys participating in the numerous games and activities. She has been on numerous trips and has enjoyed every one. The staff are very good and carry out their duties with care and compassion. I would recommend the home to friends and family.

Very happy environment, my mother-in-law seems happy. The staff are very pleasant. The care home is spotless and there is always some kind of entertainment going on.

My mum is very happy with the services she gets and so I am. The place is always very clean, she enjoys the meals. The staff are brilliant and very caring. When we visit the staff offer us a coffee and biscuits which is lovely. Thanks.

From the girls in reception to the nurses and carers, you are made welcome. My wife gets exceptional care from the staff and they also look after me, asking how I am keeping etc. I could not recommend this home highly enough. I sleep at night knowing my wife is being well looked after.

I am really happy with the care my mum receives at Gilmerton Care Home. The staff are great, always ready to help and very polite. They always celebrate a birthday and the other occasions. My mum seems to be very happy and content here.

Great care home. Overall care is excellent. Would recommend it to anyone that's looking for care. Staff are so friendly they are basically just like extended family. My father has received excellent care and he has been at the home for about 20 years now.

Would highly recommend this care home, they go above and beyond for residents as well as visitors. Very friendly and helpful staff members, always make me feel welcome. Would give a 5-star + as a review. My father-in-law has been in this care home for over 20 years now and the care he receives is on a high standard level. Wouldn't even consider looking at other care homes if any friends and family needed care, this one would definitely be a top priority.

My husband has been a resident in Eden unit for over 21 years, the care he receives is exceptional, he is treated with dignity and respect, the staff are absolute diamonds, they inform me if they have any concerns, the welcome of the home starts from entering the front door, everyone is so friendly, the manager and reception staff are amazing, nothing is ever a bother if you ever need help with anything, I am a nurse myself and honestly say I couldn't look after my loved ones any better myself and that also included my dad that also was a resident that sadly passed away, I always recommend this care home if anyone needs care for a loved one.

My mum is very well looked after and cared for and Gilmerton Care Home meets all my mum's needs and mine. I feel relaxed and able to sleep better knowing my mum is so happy in this care home and I am too. Thank you so much to all at Gilmerton Care Home for taking such good care of my mum.

The care home has looked after my Mother as well as anyone, I feel relaxed about her being there after initially having some apprehension when she first went in but the staff have been brilliant and always ready to answer any questions I may have.

Overall we are very happy with the care my mum has received. Staff are quick up on any health issues and act upon them where necessary whilst keeping us fully informed. Staff are also very friendly and approachable. Our only concern is there sometimes appears to be a shortage of staff, however, the management have confirmed they are addressing.

My sister has been a resident since February 2023 following a severe stroke, the onset of vascular dementia and pre-existing psychosis. The care, kindness, professionalism, patience, compassion and personal "touch" shown by all representatives of Gilmerton (Gladstone Unit) has been exemplary. They really work as "one team" from the administration, nursing and carers through to the manager. Both myself and my wife are grateful and reassured by their constant vocational dedication. There is always a place for constructive feedback where improvements could be made. Communication relating to planned residents and family meetings, future planned events, changes, a feedback loop following suggestions made are all rather "hit and miss," we have felt rather on the back foot with management communications not learning of an event or learning far too late to be able to participate. We live 55 miles from the care home and try to visit twice a month minimum - we need sufficient time to plan to attend a meeting or support a social event and this has not been factored in in the past. This is not however a major issue, the care and respect for my sister is of course paramount and as already stated this is exemplary.
