View Full Details of Bishops ManorMy mother spent the final 15 months of her life at Bishops Manor Care Home. From first assessment onwards, the experience was outstandingly positive. The home is very well run and all of the staff are welcoming, friendly, skilled and caring. Before long they became second family to us all. They cared for my mother, entertained her, laughed with her and, finally, provided her with empathetic end-of-life-care. A superb service provider.
My mom had 2 wonderful years at Bishops Manor we only wish we had found this beautiful place earlier for her . She had a great sense of humour and the staff kept this going for mom , dancing , craft making cake decorating, quiz games just a few activities to mention . Sadly mom passed away recently , both evening staff and day staff helped us through a very difficult time . We have very happy memories of our dear mom , which will always include all the staff at Bishops manor .

Mom had been living with dementia for a few years but the sudden death of our dear dad just added a lot more complications. Mom felt she wasn't ready for a home but day to day living became more difficult for her on a daily basis . Sadly events took a turn for the worse and mom ended up in hospital . However ,one member of staff, in particular, and her marvellous team managed to find her a place at Bishops manor . Since that day mom has come on leaps and bounds .I would say she is now living her best life ! She has put on weight ,she is joining in activities, dancing ,singing and has even made new friends . The care the whole team has given ti my mom is exemplary. I cannot recommend them enough -you can always be assured they will endeavour to do their best ! The environment is beautiful and welcoming and ALL the staff go out of their way to make it a happy and also stimulating experience for everyone . Following my search for a comfortable caring home for my aunty to reside in i came across Bishops Manor. The good feeling I was searching for was instant upon first visit. My aunty is very happy and the staff at all levels of employment ,are to thank for that. As visitors we are always welcomed whenever we arrive, and are often invited to the many fabulous activities that keep all the residents entertained. To walk in unannounced and see her waving her hands and singing along with her fellow residents gives a "Peace of Mind"comfort.Thank you staff at Bishops Manor for all you do to make my aunties latter years so happy x
We decided to move my Mum to Bishop's Manor from another care home after hearing excellent feedback from friends. She is one of the youngest residents and my concern has always been that she continues to have a fulfilling, engaging and enjoyable quality of life with her Alzheimer's. We haven't looked back and are so pleased Bishops Manor is now her home. She is continuously engaged by staff and takes part in a packed calendar of diverse activities that mean she can never get bored. I feel I never have to worry about whether she is receiving the best care as the staff are on top of every aspect of it. The home is vibrant, friendly and a refreshing and enjoyable place to visit as a family. It is kept absolutely spotless and continuously decorated for special or memorable occasions that we are always welcomed to. You always feel like you are walking into somewhere special, where people really care.
Mum has been at Bishops Manor for almost two and a half years. On the 15th of March she celebrated her 100th birthday. The staff at the home made it a weekend to remember. The planning, organisation and enthusiasm was just fantastic. The decorations, cake, food and the entertainment at the parties were wonderful. Everyone at the home was involved in one way or another and Mum thoroughly enjoyed herself. Friends and family who visited Bishops Manor on the Saturday also loved the friendly and welcoming environment of the home. My grateful thanks and appreciation go to all the staff who made it such a memorable occasion. Thank you
My husband had heart failure and I was caring for him at home. When I was suddenly taken into hospital my relatives had to find immediate care for him. A friend recommended Bishops Manor and they accepted him straight away, even though I was in hospital and could not attend to the finances. The care was excellent and he soon got to know the dedicated team of carers. When I was able to visit to sort things out it was wonderful to find a caring attitude towards me as well. He was only there for a few weeks but could not have ended his days in a finer place. Thank you
My Mom was discharged from hospital after a fall and was not well enough or capable to go home. It was a very distressing time for the whole family. The team at Bishop's Manor have been superb, from my first phone call with a member of staff we were reassured and we could "breathe again". Upon arrival my Mom could not stand, she had a mouth full of ulcers and was exhausted. After 4 weeks of love, exceptional care, excellent food and entertainment my Mom was able to walk to the car and return home. There are no words to adequately convey our gratitude; thank you just isn't enough. Thank you to the whole team; you are very special people whose help and professionalism will not be forgotten.
When the time came for my father to move to a residential care home, we looked at several in the local area. Bishops Manor stood out for several reasons. On our first visit, we got the clear impression of a professionally run, vibrant, happy and active home with excellent individual resident centered care. We decided on the spot that this place was an ideal fit for Dad. He has now been at Bishops Manor for just over a month and our initial impression of the home has been confirmed and enhanced. The dedicated nursing and care team have helped him integrate well into the daily routine of the home. Moving from living independently to a care home could be difficult, but the staff have helped Dad cope with this change with huge kindness and consideration - we can't praise them enough. They were quickly on first name terms with my father and the team have demonstrated that Bishops Manor has a deep-seated care ethic that extends to everyone in the home. It really is a caring home.
A big "thank you" to all the team for an amazing birthday celebration with Mom and her friends. Your combined teamwork, care and attention to detail made it a very special day. My mom loved the day and feedback from those who were there thought it was amazing. I realise that there was a lot of extra effort from many behind the scenes and some that pulled out all the stops to help out, such as the receptionist, the chef and another member of staff, so thank you and everyone else for making it a wonderful day. Please pass this on to anyone involved in helping make the day special.
It's taken me a few weeks to write this. My dad was living at Bishops Manor for just over two years when he sadly died at 97 years old. I would like to thank all the staff at Bishops Manor for making my dad's stay a happy one. From the moment he came to view Bishops Manor, he felt at home. All the staff really looked after him. He enjoyed all the entertainment. He always said the staff were brilliant. I wish all the staff the best wishes for the future.
My mum has resided at Bishops Manor for a number of years now and I cannot praise the staff enough for the amazing care they provide on every level of service use. My mum has complex medical needs which require regular medication, monitoring and appropriate intervention and nothing is ever left unnoticed or observed. Staff always communicate any changes immediately to me and will also speak to the GP or other healthcare professionals if they need to. Nurses and carers are knowledgeable, caring and compassionate and treat Mum with dignity and respect. The home feels like a family, it is incredibly nurturing and mindful of residents' needs and also those of relatives, like myself. There is low staff turnover which, for me, speaks volumes and helps my mum to feel safe; she always knows her carers well and they, in turn, understand her needs. I have complete peace of mind that my mum is safe and well cared for when I leave, for which I am forever grateful.
Bishops Manor was so much more than a care home, it became the family's second home. My mum resided in this home for five years. The whole team went above and beyond to care for Mum. The team was very knowledgeable and understood dementia and her needs extremely well. Mum was always treated with respect, dignity and love. It was a very hard decision to put Mum in a care home. I looked at several homes and Bishops Manor stood out above the rest with its very calm and bright environment, the staff's positive attitude to everyone. I am so glad I made the right choice. The staff made this emotional journey a lot more positive for us, as a family. The team knew Mum so well that they managed to keep Mum in the surroundings she was familiar with until she passed away. The family felt the home was fantastic and would recommend any family with a loved one with dementia to reside at Bishops Manor.
Bishops Manor is an excellent home. My father received palliative care here earlier this year. The exceptional care and support provided by the whole team to both my father and the rest of the family in his final days was second to none. My father was treated with the utmost dignity. As a family, we will always be extremely grateful to everyone at the home for supporting us all through a very difficult time. We would not hesitate to recommend Bishops Manor.
My husband put his heart and soul into caring for his mother for the last 3 years and managed to keep her in her own home as long as possible. When the time came that she needed to move into residential care, the family spent a great deal of effort evaluating the options in the area. Bishops Manor stood out immediately, for its calm, quiet and caring environment. Ever since his mother moved in, we have been beyond thrilled with our choice. She is sleeping better, is happier in herself, and enjoys taking part in the activities. The personal care and attention she receives is flawless, the team manage her dementia and falls risks better than we could have dreamed, and her mobility has improved while she has been there. I am so grateful that my husband can now focus his time and energy being a loving son, and spending time visiting his mom in a calm and positive atmosphere.
My father spent the last 5 months of his life at Bishops Manor. It was a difficult time for both him and the family but we found nothing but compassion and kindness from all the staff. The whole family were always made to feel welcome and included. My elderly mother visited daily and the care and kindness shown to her as she sat with my father was outstanding and made a difficult time more bearable for her. My father was always treated with dignity and respect especially at the end when he was no longer able to express his needs. A big thank you to all the staff
