Thank you everyone at Grand View.
I have been in Grand View for 5 weeks to recuperate from an operation. My husband had been in here previously for a year so I knew the home well and had always been impressed by the care he received. The staff are so patient and kind and go out of their way to attend to all your requirements and pleasures. I would say that most of them go that "extra mile" to make you happy. The home is very well run by a delightful manager who takes a personal interest in every resident and all the staff including nurses, carers, kitchen staff, activity staff, cleaners and admin are most efficient and so friendly and carry out their work with a smile. The food is exceptional, varied and all residents are given alternatives to the daily menu. The activities on offer are excellent and led by a jolly team making the days enjoyable. Not forgetting the support from very competent staff such as the hairdresser and chiropodist. I have been very happy here and the care I have received has been wonderful.
Very nice environment where the staff provide fantastic care and where nothing is too much trouble. We have peace of mind knowing that my sister is safe and secure and safeguarded. She can choose to join in activities if she wishes and can forego them if she doesn't wish to. Would highly recommend.
I have been involved with this home for two years, and it is constantly improving across all areas. I am confident, that with it's present management, and the ongoing support of the owners, it will continue on this path.
I am very pleased with the Care my brother is getting at Grand View. All the staff are amazing. They are helpful, friendly, supportive and go above and beyond. Always do everything to a high standard and are so good with my brother. I am very grateful to Grand View for everything. My brother has settled in really well thanks to all the lovely staff.
The staff were all very caring and dedicated. Residents are treated with respect. My mother was only a resident for one week but the experience was excellent and in the end, she had what I would describe as a good ending.
Grand View Care Home has improved my dads quality of life with all the activities and pastoral care as a family we don't need to worry about him, he has dementia and doesn't remember the fun he's had but we see it on social media, a brilliant clean lovely environment and I couldn't pick one person as they all have worth. Thank you.
Mum was moved in from the hospital - she went into floor 1 and was very well looked after by all staff - Senior nurses looked after mum very well and kept us informed at all times. Big shout out to them and also another 2 carers who looked after my mum so well. The pink team ladies are brilliant and very inclusive of all residents. Good sized rooms. Lovely little coffee area to share with family and residents - could be bigger. The 1:1 was a challenge and some of them did not appear very clued up. Downside for me is the cost.
Our daughter going regularly once a month for respite since 2023 at Grand View Care Home Stamford Uffington road and she loves there. she has got Dows syndrome and learning disability, She has been looked after very well and all her needs are met . They provide excellent care through out her stay and she is very happy and looks forward to go there for respite. The staff, nurses, management all are very welcoming and friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Our daughter is safe and well cared. As a family, we could not have asked for more. Thank you all. We cannot thank them enough.
My husband has been at Grand View since April 2024 but this review is for his last month there. End-of-life care is different for everyone but the support and care from the nursing team and management at Grand View Care Home for my husband and myself was amazing. Thank you all.
Following a few years of hospital and care home stays which had been stressful experiences, my husband moved to Grand View, where he was a resident for the last 3 months of his life. The whole staff team made it a peaceful, happy friendly experience for both him and his family. The care could not have been better and he felt safe and cared for. As a family, we could not have asked for more in the way that we were also treated. The nursing, care and management teams went above and beyond in all areas. I cannot thank them enough.
If you need nursing care stay away from this home. Lots of management changes over the last five years tells a poor story. We had issues with bank nurses. We had multiple events of incorrect meds. We had multiple issues of late delivery of time critical meds leading to multiple visits to hospital who raised safeguarding issues. In the end the home said my daughter was too complex (read trouble) so was not allowed to stay.
I would definitely not recommend for terminal cancer palliative care on any level. The food was terrible and overcooked. Everything is slow all around. Mum didn't feel listened to. Management was appalling. Reported to CQC. The staff was nice and smiley.
Our dear mum became a resident of Grand View around 6 weeks ago - the hardest decision of our life but one that we had to make. My sister and I turned up unannounced for a viewing and we were warmly welcomed and shown around. Compared to other care homes in the area there was no contest. The Grand View team from top to bottom really do care about the resident and the family. We have needed lots of support as a family as we get to grips with other people doing the job that we really want to do ourselves. Everybody from the manager (with an open door policy), the management team, to the wonderful carers and more are clearly all recruited for being good eggs and nice caring cheerful people. This is a tough industry where families are demanding and residents more so. If there are problems or difficulties the Grand View team will deal with them professionally and compassionately. My sister and I thank them all for helping us through the toughest time of our life. Keep up the good work.
My daughter spent 10 days in this residential care home when she was recovering from a hip operation. The home is particularly spotlessly clean. Friendly cheerful staff at all levels. Every task dealt with expeditiously and efficiently.
My father spent two weeks in Grand View Care Home after a serious bout of pneumonia, which was treated in hospital. He wasn't strong enough to go home directly from the hospital, so Grand View was the perfect solution. The staff were so friendly and kind towards my father, and although he was keen to get home, Grand View was the next best place.
The staff and Grand View are simply wonderful: they all wear a smile on their face, making for a wonderfully positive atmosphere. The managers' doors are always open, the reception staff welcoming and efficient and nothing was ever too much for any of the staff. The quality of the building and its contents are clear to see, but the lovely, caring nature of the staff is really special. Thank you Grand View Care Home.
Excellent facilities, lovely environment and very welcoming staff. Very relaxing and calming surroundings. I would highly recommend this first class care home.
Right from day one, I knew Mum would have the best care. Yes, Grand View is absolutely stunning, spotless, modern etc., but for me it's all about the care, support and activities. This meets everything needed for my mum. The manager is very approachable, which helps enormously. It's very hard entrusting the care of a loved one to someone else, but staff have become friends and I have full peace of mind my mum's happy.
We had an awful experience recently with Grand View. My father was booked in for a week's respite, he has dementia but his symptoms are mild. We specifically said he wouldn’t cope with extreme noise, people screaming. He is used to a very quiet and calm environment. On the day of checking him in were informed that they had a new admission who was screaming 24/7. After being shown his room I knew he wouldn’t cope. The lady at reception very kindly found him an alternative room and this was definitely more suitable for his needs, after spending 5 hours at Grand View trying to settle my father the manager insisted he have the room upstairs or not at all. (She wasn’t even at the home on that day, I had to speak to her on the phone). Her reasoning became very clear that she hadn’t listened to a word she had been told. I had to take my father home to my mum who desperately needed a break due to her own issues with anxiety and exhaustion. This whole experience was very distressing.
