View Full Details of Hermitage HouseMy mum has been living at Hermitage for 18 months, and we've been consistently impressed by the excellent care and warm, welcoming environment. The home is modern, clean, and spacious, with safe outdoor areas and comfortable spaces for quiet family time or a change of scene. The staff are outstanding - kind, skilled, and always going the extra mile. The manager is approachable and operates an open-door policy, so any suggestions or concerns are dealt with quickly and effectively. The clinical lead and team leaders listen closely and involve both residents and families in care planning. Mum has very complex needs, including severe aphasia and physical disability, but the team has supported her to enjoy the best possible quality of life and independence. They've welcomed input from physiotherapists, neuropsychologists, and occupational therapists, ensuring truly personalised care. We feel very lucky to have found Hermitage - it gives us real peace of mind.
My mum has been a resident at Hermitage house for 2 years. The standard of care has been exceptional. Everything is clean and well kept and food of a high standard. The staff are amazing so kind and so caring. Could not wish for my mum to be in a better place in her later years. She's safe well cared for and treated with the utmost dignity. Thank to you all at Hermitage House.
My experience regarding my father at the care home so far has been excellent giving a homely environment with the staff going beyond the call of duty.
My Granny was admitted to Hermitage House recently. I have never been a care home environment before and was worried. I shouldn't of worried the staff were warm and inviting and my Granny was well cared for and looked the best she had in months. Staff took the time to find about her likes and dislikes. While visiting i found the staff to be engaging and very aware of non verbal ques from my Granny
My father has lived in Hermitage House for nearly 3 years. He frequently says "aren't we lucky that Hermitage House opened at just the right time". Dad has always had very high standards, and he (and I) are very impressed with every aspect of Hermitage House: the staff & management, building/accommodation, facilities, food, etc. All staff (carers, nurses, cleaners, handyman, receptionist, laundry etc) get know the residents very well. And Dad enjoys his chats with them. He is invited to go on outings and join in the many activities that are on offer, but if he doesn't want to join in, he is never forced to do anything he doesn't want to. They treat residents as individuals. The manager's office door is always open, close by the front door. No appointment ever necessary. Residents and relatives are always greeted with a welcoming smile, and we are made to feel that our opinions and suggestions are always welcomed. I cannot recommend Hermitage House enough. 5-star 10/10
The home is more like a hotel, the manager and all the staff work tirelessly, nothing is ever a trouble, the level of care and attention is above and beyond what would be expected. Mum is on the second Floor, lead by the floor manager, and her team, I can't fault, mum was unsure when she came in, but they have made it feel like home to her, I can't tell you how much relief I feel, knowing that she is getting this level of care means to me.
When I was no longer able to care for my mum's needs at home I visited numerous care homes in the area. Hermitage House was stunning, the staff were warm and inviting, the manager eased my worries and concerns. I also looked into the care inspectorate reports and was very impressed at the high grading and feedback. My mum has now been in Hermitage House for a month and has settled well. Staff have got to know her routine and personality and have made me feel at home while visiting and at ease when leaving that my mum is safe and happy.
Grandma is staying here. This is a very homely place. Staff are welcoming and comforting whilst being attentive. It's very clean. The activities are amazing. My granny especially loves the monthly singers.
My grandmother is a resident at Hermitage House and she is receiving the best care. The facilities are clean and safe which eases our minds. The staff are always friendly helpful and above all very caring. I highly recommend Hermitage House if anyone is looking for somewhere for a family member.
Both my parents are in Hermitage House and as a family, we absolutely love it and very much feel that our parents are getting the best of care. The staff are so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
Hermitage House is an exceptional care home. My father resided with them for the last two years, joining them not long after the home opened. The care staff and support team are amazing, their compassion and care of my father, particularly in his last few weeks/days was outstanding. Staff went above and beyond to make sure his needs were taken care of, even going the extra mile to heat his food up extra hot as he always liked it!
I am more than happy with the care my great auntie is receiving from hermitage house. She is cared for in the highest regard and her dignity is respected by all workers. When I visit her she is happy and can recall activities and events that she has participated in. They recently had a family day and it was a wonderful day for my aunt to meet other residents and more staff that she wouldn’t normally see such as the reception staff. Having the activities coordinator helps her stay active and has her using her problem-solving abilities which helps keep her brain active. The hairdresser is a favourite as she likes to look fabulous.
My mum has been a resident in home for a few months now, and I have got to say the standard of care is outstanding, from coming to view the home all staff from management, nurses, and the carers made myself and my mum very welcome. Mum is more settled than she has been last few years. Mum loves staying in the home and enjoying the activities especially the parties as she loves meeting up with the other residents.
This is an exceptional home. The staff are caring and attentive. My friend has had a wonderful time and the activities and involvement of the staff and residents seem to be growing month by month. All credit to the management team and all staff. A lovely addition was the rehydration stand beautifully presented and well stocked and available to all great idea especially in the heatwave we experienced... shows a great attention to detail and requirements of the users... keep up the great work.
The overall experience for the home, care and dedication of the management, staff and other supporters are of the highest standard. Both my wife and daughter worked in the care environment for many years, and they both say that they have never seen the overall high standard you maintain.
I have been delighted on my four visits to Hermitage House. What a beautiful home filled with caring attentive staff. From the management to domestics they are all kind and efficient. My auntie is thriving.
Beautiful home with lovely rooms and finishes. Very much a home away from home. Staff are very skilled and nothing is too much trouble. They coped with changing needs and tried to do their utmost to be helpful. The staff dealt with medical issues proactively and thoroughly and communication was timely and effective. At the palliative stage, they were sensitive and very caring. My mum was always beautifully dressed and her personal care was excellent. The home was very clean and tidy.
My father has been in Hermitage House for nearly 6 months and it was the best decision we have ever made. He has been happy and content from the day he arrived from down south and could not have been made to feel more welcome. The care he has received from all members of staff is second to none and nothing is too much trouble. The minute you walk into Hermitage House you feel a warm and homely atmosphere, the handyman putting up pictures, and being able to bring two bookcase cabinets from home my father requested has made my father's room really feel his own. I could not recommend highly enough this care home.
What can I say apart from delighted at the care my aunt has received from staff at Morar Living (Hermitage House). Every one of them have been lovely, kind and caring. They show a genuine interest in her wellbeing. After a horrible experience at her last care home, where she was neglected and ignored, it has brought relief to us all that she finally is getting her dignity back. The review isn't long enough to thank you all for a wonderful place to live.
I cannot recommend highly enough! Having had to make the very difficult decision to placing Mum in a nursing home, the Management team at Hermitage House and the care team couldn't have made the transition any easier. The personal touches from the girls, the genuine care shown, regular updates given have been invaluable. The whole team are lovely, friendly and approachable, nothing is too much trouble! Beautiful rooms, super modern decor with all the up to date equipment required in a central location is perfect.
