In addition to the standard offering, there are optional extras available to enhance the resident experience. These may include services such as hairdressing, chiropody, newspapers, or certain one-to-one outings and entertainment. These are charged separately, giving residents the flexibility to choose the services that suit their preferences.
In some cases, if a resident or their family chooses additional features such as a larger room or upgraded facilities, a top-up payment may be discussed. If you choose a care home based in Scotland, you may be eligible for the Scottish Government's Free Personal Care funding of up to £248.70 per week (if you are over the age of 65) and Free Nursing Care funding of up to £111.90 per week. This support is is not reflected in this fee amount.

All staff (carers, nurses, cleaners, handyman, receptionist, laundry etc) get know the residents very well. And Dad enjoys his chats with them. He is invited to go on outings and join in the many activities that are on offer, but if he doesn't want to join in, he is never forced to do anything he doesn't want to. They treat residents as individuals.
The manager's office door is always open, close by the front door. No appointment ever necessary. Residents and relatives are always greeted with a welcoming smile, and we are made to feel that our opinions and suggestions are always welcomed. I cannot recommend Hermitage House enough. 5-star 10/10
