Harbour House

My dad was a resident of the home due to having Alzheimer's which they claim to specialise in, he had to move into a nhs hospital as they could not provide the care he needed, so the do not specialise is Alzheimer's and are looking for residents that are immobile or residents that want to sit and watch
tv all day! We have been constantly contacting the home to obtain a refund for the thousands of pounds we had to pay in advance and they are ignoring us and we are now having to go through the civil court to get my dads money back!! They were quick enough to send a bill for £8000 when he was not even resident there!! Would not recommend putting anyone with a bit of mobility in this home!!
Reply from Lauren McGrath, Deputy Manager at Harbour HouseThank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate the opportunity to respond. Harbour House supports individuals with dementia, but where needs require acute clinical intervention, hospital care is necessary. Fees are applied in line with the agreed contract, and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns directly.

Trinity Manor provides excellent care in a clean, spacious and safe environment. The care staff are friendly and welcoming. The activities are well organised and socially inclusive, with staff encouraging engagement and participation. The management staff are not always available when required and
although communication is generally good, there is room for improvement. The building has a good, upbeat atmosphere. The residents appear calm, settled and happy.
Reply from Diana Cole, Supporting Management Team at Trinity ManorThank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.

We are very pleased to hear your positive comments regarding the care provided, the environment within the home, and the friendliness of our team. It is also encouraging to know that the activities programme is supporting engagement and that the overall atmosphere is welcoming and uplifting for residents.

We appreciate your honest feedback regarding the availability of management and communication. This is something we take seriously, and we will review how we can improve accessibility and ensure more consistent communication moving forward.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback, which helps us to continue improving our service.

Staffing levels have improved however not all agency staff are proactive and I often witnesse them sitting around doing nothing and not even interacting with residents. I feel they are there to boost numbers. I would like to acknowledge the following staff who work/worked in Dickson - Lindsey, Mel,
Janet and Sara on reception, who have stood out and are a credit to the care home.
Reply from Jodie Clark, Home Manager at Pitreavie Castle Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to note that staffing levels have improved; however, we acknowledge your concerns regarding the consistency and engagement of some agency staff. We recognise how important meaningful interaction with residents is, and this feedback will be addressed with the agency to ensure expectations around proactivity and resident engagement are clear and upheld.
I would also like to sincerely thank you for highlighting the positive contribution of Lindsey, Mel, Janet, and Sara on reception. Their professionalism, commitment, and positive attitude have not gone unnoticed, and they are indeed a credit to the care home. We are grateful for their continued hard work and dedication.
Please be assured that your feedback is valued and plays an important role in helping us maintain and improve the quality of care and service we provide.

Moving to a care home was never going to be easy but the minute we walked into Morar, my sister knew it was the right place for her.
Over the last five months she was cared for and loved by the amazing management, nursing staff and carers. Nothing was too much trouble.
She praised the chef on a daily
basis and enjoyed every meal.
There was always a warm welcome from management and staff when we visited and a comforting arm when we needed it.
We couldn't have asked for a better place.
We can't thank you enough for giving her some of the best months of her life, her words, not mine.
God Bless you all!

Attended the mothers day event in the reception area. Tables laid out beautifully with full afternoon tea, bucks fizz. A great example of how this home is going 'the extra mile' for residents. Mum has now been resident for 5 weeks and she has settled well thanks to the lovely staff. We visited many
homes before chosing Trinity Manor and have no regrets.

Morar at Bury St Edmunds was exceptional. The whole team of staff went above and beyond their job to make sure that residents are comfortable and happy. The food was of excellent quality. Everyone appears to work well as a team and enjoys their job. The modern facilities are comfortable, and the shared
social spaces for relatives are very well throughout with provisions for drinks, etc. Overall, a superb experience and highly recommended.
Reply from Ben Goddard, Care home manager at Abbeygate ManorThank you for your kind words. It was a privilege to be able to care for your relative. It is lovely to hear you had a positive experience at Abbeygate during such difficult time.

This care home has turned around under new management. Permanent staff have also been a big positive move with carers and clients getting to know each other. More activities and a variety of activities is another plus. The staff seem happy and everyone is smiling. Any problems that crop up are dealt
with quickly. There is now a feeling of coming home when visiting.
Reply from Patrick O'Hare, Operations at Morar HighlandMany thanks for your kind words, positive comments.

We moved mum here in early February so have had the benefit of reasonable amount of time to give this review. The care we have received for mum during the time has been exemplary, her quality of life has improved due to the efforts of the staff and any issues we have had with her settling in have been
listened to and addressed, not as we had experienced in mums previous care home. Basically the difference in both mum and us is hue and positive, thank you team Morar.
Reply from Barbra Alison, Home Manager at Squadron ManorThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We're delighted to hear that your mum's quality of life has improved and that you've felt supported throughout her settling-in period. Our team at Morar is passionate about providing compassionate, person-centered care, and it's wonderful to know that this has made a positive difference for both your mum and your family. Your kind words mean a lot to us and will be shared with the team - thank you again for your thoughtful feedback!

This care home looks great on the surface with the new building and infrastucture, but scratch the surface and its a different story.
Constant turnover of staff, more agency staff, and extortionate prices per week.
Despite many promises made by owners and management nothing has improved over the last
few months.
Very disapointed.
The staff they have are very nice, but not enough of them.
Reply from Jodie Clark, Home Manager at Pitreavie Castle Care HomeThank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience has not met expectations.
We acknowledge your concerns around staffing , continuity, and costs, and we are actively working to recruit a full staff team and improve staff retention which will reduce reliance on agency cover. Your comments have been noted and will help guide ongoing improvements.
We do appreciate your kind words about our staff and remain committed to delivering a consistently high standard of care.

I have been very impressed with the home and the care my mother has received. The environment is pleasant and the staff patient and friendly. I feel that when there are issues the manager is keen to find resolutions and, with improved communication in place, I have confidence that the home will go from
strength to strength. I am impressed with the catering and feel the issues with maintenance, laundry and general communications have sensible solutions in the pipeline. The manager and staff I have come into contact with are absolutely marvellous.
Reply from Diana Cole, Supporting Management Team at Trinity ManorThank you for your positive feedback. I'm pleased to hear you are happy with the care provided and the team, and I appreciate your recognition of the improvements being made. Your comments will be shared with staff, and we remain committed to continuing to improve our service.
