My dad is very happy, he is very well looked after, he is always saying the staff are lovely and he enjoys the food as it is all cooked from scratch, he gets involved with the activities and likes playing bingo on a Friday morning. Management are very easy to approach if you do have any concerns, staff
are very friendly.

My mother has been in Hatfield Manor for several months now and has been made to feel very welcome. She has found the transition from her own home difficult but the care staff have been brilliant and she now feels really settled .The nurses have taken really good care of her and have met all of her
needs through vigilant observation and getting to know her well . The carers are very good very friendly and approachable and it feels like a lovely family unit. The organisers of the entertainment do an excellent job and offer a range of activities and encouragement to join in. The home is kept very clean .

My mum was a resident for just a short while at Hatfield Manor before she passed away peacefully there. As a family we couldn't thank a particular staff member and her team more for all the wonderful care and love they gave her.
All though mum was in a great deal of pain and discomfort and she was
coming nearing the time to say goodbye, everyone treated her with dignity and respect.

We are delighted with the standard of care that Mum has received at Tantallon House. The staff are caring and helpful and everything has been done to a very high standard. It is wonderful to see Mum enjoying trips out and about again. It has been lovely to see her smile and sense of humour return due
to the fact that she is getting so well looked after. She feels safe and very well cared for. The Activities team go the extra mile in providing activities to suit a range of interests. Mum's room is spacious and comfortable. It is great that there are a variety of spaces to use when visitors arrive. Visitors are always made to feel very welcome by the staff. My husband has only been in Tantallon House for four weeks and in that time, we have come to know what an exceptional place it is.
All the staff whatever their role, are warm, friendly, welcoming and approachable so that any query, problem or question that arises is dealt with promptly. The building
is light and bright beautifully maintained, with so many dedicated areas - quiet rooms, games room, cinema, even facilities for private family parties. The residents' rooms are spacious and well-furnished and being able to personalise their rooms with items from home has helped my husband to settle in. He has been made to feel very comfortable and enjoys the excellent meals provided. The family very appreciative of the care he is receiving, and we know we made the right decision when we chose Tantallon House.

Bridge of Weir

Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5
Having previously left a great review, I'm disappointed to update on issues which have now arisen. Lots of the care here IS great, & staff are great too.
However I need to warn others that serious issues have arisen & to be vigilant about these aspects of care of your loved one.
We had issues with
staff unable to attend to dad when he was crying out in pain. On that occasion staff had their young children at work with them so couldn't meet dad's needs.
(I agreed not to make a formal complaint at that time)
Now, three new complaints have been upheld by the Care Inspectorate regarding issues with unexplained bruising & administration of medication.
After several requests for a written response to the upholding of these complaints, Morar have now dismissed them as "minor".
No apology and no explanation provided.
I'd expected Morar to take the issues seriously, as previous complaints about the same issues have also been upheld.
Just be aware. CI website shows details of all complaints.

Thank you for your most recent feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and are glad to hear you have previously had positive experiences with our service. The wellbeing of our residents is, and always has been, our highest priority, and all concerns are addressed promptly.Following the Care Inspectorates complaints inspection on 23 July 2025, they confirmed your father was well cared for, with only minor areas for improvement around documentation, which have been addressed. The Social Work review on 12 August 2025 was also very positive and reinforced confidence in the care provided. Our team remains committed to delivering compassionate care and will continue to strive to meet every concern raised.

My husband was admitted to Pitreavie Castle Care Home in August. On arrival you are made feel very welcome. The building is very modern and elegant and visitors are offered tea, coffee and home made cakes free of charge in the Bistro daily. There are no issues with parking when I'm visiting as there
is a large car park and the grounds are beautiful.
The staff are kind and welcoming, from those in the office, nurses, carers, cleaners and handyman. This kindness rubs off on the residents and makes them feel more secure in their environment.

The manager and deputy manager are kind and could not be more helpful. I
It also boasts a hairdressers, a small cinema and various sitting rooms with the choice of where the residents want to watch TV and have their meals.
Their deputy manager is an asset to them with her dedication to her job. She is a thoughtful kind lady with a great sense of humour. There are outings and entertainment for residents.

It has been a very good experience moving into Abbeygate Manor. The manager and all of the staff have been very welcoming and it has been a positive experience. I do feel that some of the facilities could be more user friendly - the toilets are very low and the shelf in the bathroom is too high. The
food is good and staff have taken on board what I have said about portion size. It is lovely to be able to access my own outdoor space independently and I feel safe and supported by all of the staff.

My brother and I are very happy with the care Dad is receiving and have always found staff to be friendly and helpful.
The need for full time care is something we would prefer as a family not to need, but the transition from home has been made as easy as possible for all of us by the caring and thoughtful
actions of the staff.
We are relieved to have found a place where Dad feels safe and welcome.

My mum was sent here for a month to assess her needs. We paid out £4000 for 2 more weeks. After illness she needs help going to the toilet, dressing etc but has no other problems. The Home was very short-staffed & she often waited ages for help: going to the toilet or didn't get breakfast much before
her lunch! She was once left on the toilet for nearly 2 hours before anyone returned! Daily activities were haphazard, often cancelled.
Alcohol is virtually non existent as are cake and drinks in the bistro. She can't make a coffee from her wheelchair. My mum has taken mild over the counter medication for years. A member of staff went through her drawers & took them.
Laundry wasn't returned when she left. 3 shirts lost. 50 days on (24 emails & 3 phone calls later) we've received 2. Accounting is haphazard. An email said we owed more. We refuted this & have heard no more! The managenent is inefficient and this trickles down through the whole establishment.

Abbeygate Manor is a state-of-the-art nursing home, which exudes an atmosphere of calm, caring, friendly and safe environment. The staff are all excellent, and the management team is incredible. My mother has settled in well and is completely content with her environment and care,

Mum moved into Abbeygate Manor when it had only just opened. She could not have been more welcomed or cared for - the staff have been wonderful and the home is excellent. The food is very nice, and the activities have been great. Mum particularly enjoyed singing and going out for a walk. The home is
kept exceptionally clean and tidy, and is very nicely furnished. All in all, we are delighted and we're sure Mum's health has improved under their care.

My mother needed to into a nursing home very quickly. We looked round Marina View and found the manager very welcoming and honest. She has clearly worked hard and was proud of the home but knew there were always things to improve on. My mother was there for a week until she passed away. The nursing
staff were active in getting support from the hospice. The staff as a whole (careers/cleaners/ laundry) were always kind, caring, respectful and very helpful. I would totally recommend the home. The individual outdoor and communal outdoor spaces are excellent.

I couldn't be happier with Abbeygate Manor. My mother has settled in so easily and is loving her new environment. She has become much more involved in activities and is content to mobilise in and out of the many communal areas. The staff (all of them, without exception) have shown such kindness, care
and compassion to her, but most of all, they give her time and attention. The decor is top notch, the place is spotlessly clean, and the food is wonderful! My mother loves it (and so do I!!).
