Morar @ St Andrews

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Everything I have seen and experienced at Morar St Andrews has been outstanding. I could not imagine a more comfortable, welcoming, and wonderful home for my mum. The staff are clearly dedicated, and highly capable of delivering respectful, compassionate care-but Morar goes above and beyond. There is
genuine warmth and humour, and I truly feel that my mum is loved and cherished here. Food, activities (and indeed all aspects of care) are being thoughtfully tailored to mum's own needs, wherever possible, and as a result she has developed a renewed sense of fulfilment. The wonderful staff have helped bring a big smile to my mum's face and a twinkle to her eyes. Knowing that she is so settled and happy has made an immense difference to my own life too-and I could ask for no more.
Reply from Stephen McLachlan, Home Manager at Morar @ St AndrewsThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We are truly honoured by your kind words and delighted to know that your mum feels so settled, happy, and cherished at Morar St Andrews.
Our team is deeply committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care, and it means a great deal to hear that the warmth, humour, and individual attention shown have made such a positive difference to both your mum's life and your own. Your feedback will be shared with the whole team, who will be incredibly proud to know the impact they have made.
Thank you for trusting us with your mum's care - it is a privilege to support her and your family.

My mum moved into Bridge of weir care home(Morar) in October 2025,this was on the advice of hospital Geriatricians.
Prior to this my mum lived at home with a social work care package.
Since moving into Bridge of weir,my mums care and wellbeing has significantly improved, whilst being treated as a valuable
resident.
This is due to the dedication of all the staff whom I see almost in a daily basis.
From the very first day,,Claire,Joanne, all the nurses and every member of the team has treated my mum with the utmost respect and genuine care.
The team put the service users and families at the heart of everything they do.
I'm aware that the care home have recently been awarded wonderful ratings by the Care Inspectorate which I think is well earned and deserved.
I have complete confidence in my mums care by the team.
I also have had the opportunity to speak to some of the other service users families who all share my thoughts and experience.
I can't thank every member of the team enough.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother in law moved into Morar care home Bridge of weir in October. Her family have been working hard to maintain her independence and ability to live in her own house for a long time but this had increasingly become more and more difficult. My mother in law at 93 has memory issues as well as poor
mobility and several other health issues. She was spending more and more time in and out of hospital. This was a constant worry for her family.
Since moving to Morar care home she has improved physically and mentally. The staff have been brilliant in helping her settle in. The care home is clean, homely, bright and cheerful. Every day there are numerous activities. There really is something for everyone and we have been amazed at how much our ( mother) wants to participate. Our family member seems to be far more stimulated and gets more out of life. This is such a relief to us as a family knowing that she enjoys her surroundings and that she is being so well looked after.
Reply from Claire Mcluckie, Home manager at Bridge of WeirThank you so much for your wonderful review. It truly means the world to myself and the whole team. Your MIL is a delight and we love having her at BOW.

My husband deteriorated very quickly (3 months) with undiagnosed dementia. Two care homes, with dementia facilities, refused to take him, with his needs, but Townsend Manor welcomed him, he has settled very quickly and his symptoms have reduced markedly. The staff, without exception, have been fantastic.
I will be eternally grateful.
Reply from Sarah Ward, Home Manager at Townsend ManorThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly honoured that you entrusted Townsend Manor with your husband's care during such a challenging and emotional time.

We know how distressing a rapid deterioration and uncertainty around diagnosis can be, and we are so pleased to hear that your husband has settled well and that his symptoms have reduced. Your kind words about our team mean a great deal to us - our staff are deeply committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care, and your feedback reassures us that this is being felt by families as well as residents.

We are grateful for your trust and wish you and your husband continued comfort and support.

My father spent the last 6 weeks of his life at Morar. He received excellent care inspite of him being a danger to himself at times. The support for the family at this time was amazing. We knew that his stay would only have a short duration but everything possible was done to maintain a normal routine
and keep him entertained and comfortable. Access to his care notes from a phone or tablet helped my brothers see what was going on from the south of England, a great resource. Genuinely caring staff.

My husband has sadly had to go into care due to the deterioration of his Lewy Body's Dementia/Parkinsons. He is under 65 and the care home worked with us to get a licence to allow him to move into the home.
It's a great environment and as we have got to know the staff, they have been brilliant. They
genuinely care for the people they are looking after.
Christmas was amazing. The activities were phenomanal. The staff and management put in so much effort and when I got emotional as this was my first year being on my own, they were there to give me a hug too.
I would have given 5 stars but like everything, you cant please all of the people all of the time.
Communication could be better. Maybe promote the family chat to the families of new residents. I have found that so useful.
A couple of very minor issues raised e.g. fingernails being.cut and cleaned but were all resolved straight away.
Didn't want my husband in a care home but hes safe and cared for. Cant ask for more.
Reply from Claire Mcluckie, Home manager at Bridge of WeirThank you for your review. Your husband is a wonderful man and is a pleasure to have as part of our Bow Family.

Morar @ St Andrews

Minimum of care standards not met, complaints from October still awaiting investigation including waist strap on chair not fastened. Unexplained injuries not investigated, hydration levels below minimum levels two thirds of the time according to records sent by email, injury from uncut nails days after
we highlighted this and the care home said nail cutting was their responsibility. Diet not consistent with level 5 and 6 causing risk of choking. Being left in a state of undress for hours, not being moved frequently enough to protect skin. Complaints raised repeatedly from August to December about the care plan not being followed. Eventually we moved dad due to ongoing issues.

When we were looking at Langham Manor as a potential home for my Mum, we looked at the reviews and saw all the positive comments about the welcome, the cleanliness, the care and attention that residents received. I can only say that, when Mum went to stay there this week, all those comments are absolutely
right. Langham Manor is a perfect home. We have already been receiving regular updates on Mum's wellbeing and her settling in. It is so reassuring to know that she is receiving the care she needs, knowing that the staff are so attentive and professional. Langham Manor is a real find and I recommend it highly.

My mother Cora (with dementia) has been at Escan Manor since April. The kind and attentive care she is receiving is second to none. The staff are all lovely and my mother is settled and happy. It was a wrench to move her into care, but she is safer and more content and she has the peace of mind
of staff monitoring her welfare. Guests are made very welcome. We both couldn't be happier.
Reply from Care Home Manager, Management at Escan ManorThank you so much for taking the time to share such a lovely review. We are truly grateful for your kind words.

My dad was a resident of Oakeshott House for just over a year until his recent passing. During that time we found that the care he received was exemplary. He was always clean and tidy, well fed and providing with a range of activities. The staff without exception treated him with kindness and dignity
and as a family we felt very well informed. I cannot recommend Oakeshott House highly enough.
Reply from Maurice Long, Regional Manager at Oakeshott HouseThank you for taking the time to leave such a warm and heartfelt message to all the staff at Oakeshott who were involved in the care for your father, and I am sure they will be pleased to see their hard work and dedication recognised.
May I also pass on my my condolences to you and the family in such a difficult time.

This is a well-run run organised, and very caring place. My Mother-in-Law was made to feel very Welcome. Wimborne Manor is homely but with the feel of living in a posh hotel too. Very clean, warm and tidy. People are put first. Food is tasty and nicely prepared, and presented. Don't feel like a care
home, nor one that is company-based residents
Reply from Lisa Pugh, Home Manager at Wimborne ManorThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're delighted to hear that your Mother-in-Law felt so welcome and well cared for during her time at Wimborne Manor. Creating a warm, homely environment where people truly come first is at the heart of what we do, so it's wonderful to know this came across.

We're also pleased you enjoyed the hotel-like feel, cleanliness, and the quality of the food-our team takes great pride in all of these details. Your feedback means a great deal to us and will be shared with the whole team, who will be truly encouraged by your words.

My mum is very happy in the home and importantly I feel she is safe. I have been in several times each day for the last week and the staff have been nothing but caring towards the residents and are always attentive towards their needs.
My only observation is at busy times and weekends they do seem
to be overworked and there doesn't appear to be enough staff. This can have a knock on effect for mealtimes which has been late for most days and can upset the routine of the residents
Reply from Maurice Long, Regional Manager at Pitreavie Castle Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. I was very pleased to hear that your mum is happy at Pitreavie, and that you feel that the care staff are attentive towards residents needs.
I appreciate your concerns regarding staffing, which has been addressed with 8 new staff commencing employment in the last two weeks, with a further three awaiting completion of paperwork prior to taking up employment.
Further to this, our new home manager took up post this week, and is looking forward to meeting all the relatives when they visit Pitreavie over the next couple of weeks.

My mum came to Oakeshott House for respite care on 06/10/2025, and I must say how impressed I am with the care, dignity and kindness shown to my mum. Mum is continuing to stay on at Oakeshott as she is no longer safe living on her own. The kindness, reassurance and support given to me by all of the
