It has been a very good experience moving into Abbeygate Manor. The manager and all of the staff have been very welcoming and it has been a positive experience. I do feel that some of the facilities could be more user friendly - the toilets are very low and the shelf in the bathroom is too high. The
food is good and staff have taken on board what I have said about portion size. It is lovely to be able to access my own outdoor space independently and I feel safe and supported by all of the staff.

Mum moved into Abbeygate Manor when it had only just opened. She could not have been more welcomed or cared for - the staff have been wonderful and the home is excellent. The food is very nice, and the activities have been great. Mum particularly enjoyed singing and going out for a walk. The home is
kept exceptionally clean and tidy, and is very nicely furnished. All in all, we are delighted and we're sure Mum's health has improved under their care.

I couldn't be happier with Abbeygate Manor. My mother has settled in so easily and is loving her new environment. She has become much more involved in activities and is content to mobilise in and out of the many communal areas. The staff (all of them, without exception) have shown such kindness, care
and compassion to her, but most of all, they give her time and attention. The decor is top notch, the place is spotlessly clean, and the food is wonderful! My mother loves it (and so do I!!).

Mum has been a resident for 3 months, we cannot fault the environment and standard of fixture and fittings.
Mum and ourselves as family including extended family have been made to feel very welcome and supported during her transition by everyone on the team from the management and care staff to
the staff working behind the scenes.
The care team have taken the time to get to know Mum and her preferences.
The activity coordinator has supported Mum to participate in the group activities both in-house and in the wider community ensuring that she feels confident to do so.
I feel that this home is the right fit for mum in this next chapter of her life.

Mum said that she would never go into a care home! She moved into Langham Manor, and over the months that followed the care and attention she has received from the staff has won her over. Recently she did not like her hair and wanted it coloured. A member of staff told me that she would do it for
her and which dye to buy that would not have to be on for too long. She dyed and blow dried her hair - mum was so happy. She has her nails painted on a regular basis which she loves. Langham Manor has wonderful decor, is really clean, meals are great and staff are very accommodating. There are many activities for residents to take part in. If they wish. The mother's day afternoon tea put on for residents and their families was that of a top notch hotel. The birthday cake that was made for my mum was wonderful. Thank you.

That is very kind of you to compliment Langham on its design, I will pass this onto head office as i am aware that a lot of thought goes into the design in all our Morar care homes around the country. Thank you also for expressing how caring and pleasant we all are here. It costs nothing to be kind and caring and it pleases us that this has come across during your visits.

When told we needed a nursing home for my mum it was a shock and a large undertaking to find one that we would be comfortable with and could cater for her changing needs as her health was going to deteriorate at an unknown pace. We vistited a few, some had wonderful views of the coast but were decorated
as though from the 1970's; others were newer but were tired. Then we went to Langham Manor in Stowmarket. Thankfully. The home benefits from several wings, each catering for specific needs, whether its residential, mildly confused or more serious health challenges. My mum had a good sized room, en suite and all was purpose built for its intended use, along with the rest of the facility. Staff are brilliant, and all the care assistants as well as the Medical staff and the housekeeping team too! Food was always fresh and plentiful, all the facilities were clean and welcoming. Only negative, is could do with more parking!

My mother is a resident in Langham Manor Stowmarket. It was her 96th Birthday just one month after being admitted and they couldn't have been lovelier about it. They really went the extra mile to make her feel special, with a cake and decorations. I know my mum is very happy there and all the carers
I have met have been wonderful, patient and caring people. I cannot comment on the food as I have not been there to see it but my mum is happy and is getting what she wants.

The home itself has been built to a high spec and is always kept clean and is on par with a four-star hotel. The care shown by the staff to residents has been exceptional. The big letdown has been the quality of the food. The advert for the home says fine dining unfortunately the standard has been poor
for the ten months of our family involvement. The management has failed to find kitchen staff of the required standard with a high turnover of staff in the year it's been open. In defence of the current chef, they may be doing their best with the ingredients available. There is regularly a shortage of green vegetables with the main meal. For example this week the option was sausage and chips with peas, but they had run out of peas! How can you run out of peas? Fresh fruit is not readily available in the lounge. For the fees charged the food should be far more nutritious and of a higher standard.
Reply from Ben Maynard, Business Development Manager at Langham Manor

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're pleased to hear that you've had a positive experience with the overall care and cleanliness of our home and we appreciate your kind words about our staff's dedication. However, we're truly sorry that the standard of food has not met your expectations. The quality of our meals is a priority, and we regret that this has been an ongoing concern. We are actively working to address staff turnover in the kitchen and improve the standard of dining. Running out of basic items like peas is unacceptable and we understand your frustration with the lack of nutritious options and fresh fruit. These issues will be taken up with the kitchen team and suppliers. We value your feedback and we are committed to making improvements to ensure that our residents receive high-quality, nutritious meals that reflect the level of care we aim to provide. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
