Care Homes Owned by Morar Living in Perth & Kinross

My mother in law went into Morar for two weeks respite care. This was her first time away from us in two years and we were slightly apprehensive about how she would be able to cope. We were welcomed by amazingly friendly competent staff, a dog (excellent) which belonged to a resident, residents excited to meet someone new, a lovely room which was spacious and immaculately clean with plenty of room for all belongings, wheelchair, stroller and zimmer. Nothing we arrived with seemed a problem as long as it was all named clearly. Two weeks later having heard nothing which in my eyes is a good sign, we collected a very happy lady. She had been showered daily, obviously well fed as she'd put on weight, and she had clearly been well stimulated as she was very chatty for a few days afterwards. Unfortunately due to her dementia she forgot everything and everyone the moment she returned home but occasionally she would say how lovely the ladies were and what a lovely place she had stayed in x

My husband has been a resident in Kincairney House for six months. The staff have looked after him with a genuine caring attitude and with good humour. In spite of inevitable staffing shortages at times, there is a determination on the part of the management to provide the best possible experience for residents, relatives and staff alike. I appreciate the openness to discuss any query or concern. From my obseration, there appears to be a constant effort to enhance the care given at Kincairney.

My husband has been with Kincairney House for over 1 year. He will not be coming home. He had a bad stroke quite some time ago. The care he has been having is good, but because he got used to regular care assistance, when they change it is a bit disconcerting for him. The nursing care is good. Also, the food is sufficient for his needs. But why is his food now made much smaller, i.e., mashed up?

Since arriving at Kincairney 4 months ago, my family have been very impressed by the care and support my mum has received. Staff are very caring and proactive to ensure Mum's needs are met. The home is spotless, and her room is spacious, light and bright. There is a good range of meals available with alternatives offered when necessary. There has been an increase in activities recently, offering variety, although I feel more could still be provided.

Dad has been a resident at Kincairney since November 2025, and the care he has received has been exceptional. The staff go above and beyond to support his medical, physical and personal needs, and keep us informed of any changes. Regular meetings give us the chance to share our thoughts too.

We've also used the lovely communal spaces for birthdays and special occasions - invaluable moments for Mum and Dad, allowing us to continue the family celebrations that have always been so important to us. We even used the cinema room, with juice and popcorn, to watch one of Dad's favourite family films.

Although Dad lives with dementia, he's warmly included in activities that bring focus and variety to his routine. What stands out most is that the team care not only for the resident, but for the whole family and the life story behind them.

Very pleased with the care and support my mother is being provided with. Not living locally, we appreciate the regular telephone updates. We recently had a birthday party lunch within the care home. Multiple family members were present and all fully appreciated the great hospitality provided by the care home staff in the private room. I must also mention the excellent service provided by the in-house hairdresser.

We arranged a birthday celebration for our mother utilising the private dining room and the organisation, service and hospitality was excellent. Well done and thank you to all involved.

A wonderful place to visit. Everybody so welcoming and pleasant and helpful. The lounge downstairs is a super idea for all to use. The welcoming small lounges and hairdresser are the icing on the cake. Many thanks. All very comforting for relatives and friends.

My husband has good carers but is left sitting at the dining table too long after meals—activities geared for females more than male. The only time he is out is when I take him. Rooms are clean and well looked after. He seems happy but needs more stimulation.

Mum was admitted to Kincairney House for end of life care. Sadly she was not aware of her surroundings. My brothers had her room set up with personal effects. It was large, bright with a nice view and spotlessly clean. The ambience allowed us to feel as relaxed as we could while we sat with Mum. Staff constantly checked up on us, offering meals, snacks and drinks. It was obvious they had taken the time to read up about Mum and sat and chatted about her past interests. The staff reminded me on several occasions that they were there for us at all times. They made us feel like they were family. Staff regularly excused me from the room to allow them to carry out personal care. All staff I happened upon were kind and respectful. Sadly, Mum passed in the morning of her fourth day as a resident but it was peaceful with her family by her side. Mum was treated with dignity and respect with the best care. It was all we had wanted for Mum and are full of gratitude.

The activities budget is about £180 a month to cover all residents, for visiting entertainment, pet costs and resources for crafts etc. Deficits are met by some staff themselves. Systemic poor management systems must be held to account!

I would suggest that rather than investigation; action is required. My friend pays a lot of money to be cared for and not be in a situation which is damaging her mental health.

The staff at Kincairney House are very pleasant, helpful and caring. My father is thriving in the care home, he has made lots of friends with residents and staff. The staff make all visitors very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. My father enjoys the meals that are cooked on the premises. He gets offered tea and cakes between meals. The home is kept scrupulously clean and fresh. He enjoys social activities, gardening and music times. He gets regular visits from the in-house rabbits and dogs. It is also okay for me to visit with my Westie dog. The very best place for a 104-year-old.

My father is a resident at the moment. As a family we were extremely upset he needed to be put into a care home, but I have to say the management and staff have made us feel so much better with the care, dignity and support we see them all give my father. Nothing is ever too much to ask of them. They even treat myself and family with love and care. I can sleep at night knowing my father is well looked after. I have nothing but praise for Kincairney House.

My husband was sadly only at Kincairney House for a short time but the service and support was exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble to arrange or organise for him. The staff are well trained, efficient, friendly and approachable, including the manager whose door is always open. Everywhere is modern and well presented with plenty of quiet spaces and communal rooms and resident's rooms are roomy with en-suite facilities. When hubby's end of life came, quite unexpectedly, the staff were very supportive of the family then and in the following weeks until we no longer needed their support. My son and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kincairney House.

My mum was taken in shortly after Christmas 2023, to start with she was very confused and wanted to come home but with care and compassion from all the staff has settled in very well and is very happy living there. It's taken a great weight off my mind knowing that she is safe and cared for so well.

This is an amazing care home, the level of care my dad is having is amazing. Kincairney is spotlessly clean with the most beautiful furnishings. On visiting, the wonderful staff make myself and my family most welcome and we have enjoyed getting to know them. The chefs do a wonderful job of serving up tasty and varied meals, which on occasion I have had the pleasure to sample. We feel so lucky that he managed to get a place here. Thank you all at Kincairney.

Sadly Mum's stay was brief, her end-of-life care was exceptional, receiving care with dignity, respect, and kindness and the support given to us as a family was superb.

Very disappointing, contrary to glowing 5-star reviews. Numerous concerns about subpar conditions and care quality were shared by relatives. We complained directly to the care inspectorate due to fear of addressing issues with management. A complaint about food and standards in June 22 led to the managing director threatening eviction, claiming we expected too much. Following our mother's serious accident in September 22, the management showed no sympathy or interest in the incident. The investigation was never shared with us. The lack of leadership during her final days deeply upset and traumatised family members, negatively impacting our mental health. The unprofessional and uncaring attitude of the team during that time will haunt us forever. The Care Inspectorate has upheld most of our complaints and will make demands for improvement. We advise thorough research beyond reviews, considering press reports, Care Inspectorate ratings, and staff testimonials on recruitment websites.

It has taken in excess of 9 months for this to be dealt with. Appalling treatment which has caused us as a family huge costs and stress. Not the memory we would like to be left with!
