The induction on arrival was disapointing but I understan this has now been addressed. It was a matter of learning 'as we go'.
There is a distrinct impression the home is still 'getting to' understand its own specific identity but over the four months it is obvious the team as it knits together is eager to get things right.

The team is enthusiastically committed and dedicated so the future looks terrific!! When you stop getting better you stop being good!!

My mother in-law is a resident of the care home. When my husband knew the time had come to put his mum in a home it was an incredibly hard time. We met with Stephen one of the regional managers and he was amazing in guiding us though the process, there was no sales pitch just compassion and understanding.
From the very first time we came to the home the staff were welcoming and friendly and this hadn't changed to this day. They are brilliant with her. We never expected it but she has a much better quality of life in the home than before. She is more sociable and active. The rooms all have beautiful views and she loves feeding the squirrels every day.

You can see this is not an easy job for the staff but they really are brilliant and work really hard and we appreciate all they do for her. I'm so thankful we have been able to find a place where she is so happy and doing so well. Thanks to everyone for all the hard work.

My Mother moved into the care home in December. I was hesitant at first as I've been my mother's only carer for many years. I've not had a holiday for a number of years. However very quickly I seen how happy she has become. The atmosphere is excellent. The whole building is spotlessly clean. Her meals are excellent. The staff are brilliant. Very friendly and they work very hard. I've learned to trust the staff, in fact I trust them so much I was able to go on holiday with no worries about my mother's care. I've nothing negative to say. I would fully recommend this care home.

Staffing levels have improved however not all agency staff are proactive and I often witnesse them sitting around doing nothing and not even interacting with residents. I feel they are there to boost numbers. I would like to acknowledge the following staff who work/worked in Dickson - Lindsey, Mel, Janet and Sara on reception, who have stood out and are a credit to the care home.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to note that staffing levels have improved; however, we acknowledge your concerns regarding the consistency and engagement of some agency staff. We recognise how important meaningful interaction with residents is, and this...

This care home looks great on the surface with the new building and infrastucture, but scratch the surface and its a different story.
Constant turnover of staff, more agency staff, and extortionate prices per week.
Despite many promises made by owners and management nothing has improved over the last few months.
Very disapointed.

The staff they have are very nice, but not enough of them.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience has not met expectations.

We acknowledge your concerns around staffing , continuity, and costs, and we are actively working to recruit a full staff team and improve staff retention which will reduce reliance on agency cover....

I was so happy to see my dad at Morar the difference in him in just a few days was very impressive. Previous to him arriving there we all thought he didn't have much longer to live. From the first day he was more alert and looked very happy, after 4 days on, he is loving life again. The nursing care here is impressive. From the manager on to all the rest of the staff they go above and beyond with his care. For the first time in months, we feel happy when we leave because we know he is well cared for.

My husband has been in Morar @ St Andrews for a few days, and the improvement in his mood and physical ability is amazing from 2 months of suffering elsewhere; he now says he feels safe. The care is exceptional. The comfort is also 5-star. The manager and staff go above and beyond to see that my husband's needs are met fully. Also, the same applies to mine and my families. At last, I can breathe again, and I am absolutely confident that when I leave, he is in excellent hands.

Everything I have seen and experienced at Morar St Andrews has been outstanding. I could not imagine a more comfortable, welcoming, and wonderful home for my mum. The staff are clearly dedicated, and highly capable of delivering respectful, compassionate care-but Morar goes above and beyond. There is genuine warmth and humour, and I truly feel that my mum is loved and cherished here. Food, activities (and indeed all aspects of care) are being thoughtfully tailored to mum's own needs, wherever possible, and as a result she has developed a renewed sense of fulfilment. The wonderful staff have helped bring a big smile to my mum's face and a twinkle to her eyes. Knowing that she is so settled and happy has made an immense difference to my own life too-and I could ask for no more.

My dad Ian moved in a few months ago. It took him a while to settle but he is now doing really well with the support of the staff at Morar. In particular Nurse Lesley has been absolutely excellent with dad and me! Thank you Leslie for your care and support.

Minimum of care standards not met, complaints from October still awaiting investigation including waist strap on chair not fastened. Unexplained injuries not investigated, hydration levels below minimum levels two thirds of the time according to records sent by email, injury from uncut nails days after we highlighted this and the care home said nail cutting was their responsibility. Diet not consistent with level 5 and 6 causing risk of choking. Being left in a state of undress for hours, not being moved frequently enough to protect skin. Complaints raised repeatedly from August to December about the care plan not being followed. Eventually we moved dad due to ongoing issues.

My mum is very happy in the home and importantly I feel she is safe. I have been in several times each day for the last week and the staff have been nothing but caring towards the residents and are always attentive towards their needs.

My only observation is at busy times and weekends they do seem to be overworked and there doesn't appear to be enough staff. This can have a knock on effect for mealtimes which has been late for most days and can upset the routine of the residents

My dad moved into the home in August. He had been in for respite care at Easter and enjoyed the experience enough to decide to move in on a permanent basis. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. Any hiccups have been dealt with smoothly and efficiently. The management team seem to know what they are doing and are always approachable. Dad has enjoyed several days out and has recently been able to return to a club he went to before he moved to the home. The food is generally good, although he would like the veg to be cooked for longer! The rooms are lovely and kept clean. Handrails were added in the bathroom to aid his mobility. The laundry is returned timeously, and there is a variety of activities for residents to join in should they wish. The ambience of the home is such that visitors of residents are welcomed as friends. The bistro offers a communal space where we can chat together.

My mother-in-law moved into the care home in April and over the past six months we have been extremely happy with every aspect of her care. From the very beginning, the staff supported us through what was not an easy decision, and we are deeply grateful for their kindness and guidance. They are the most thoughtful and compassionate people, always responsive to her every need, and nothing is ever too much trouble. They treat her with dignity, warmth, and humour, while being sensitive to her wishes and providing a true home from home. Regular, thoughtful activities are offered, yet they respect her choice to join when she feels comfortable. The food is lovely, her physical health is carefully supported, and her emotional wellbeing is always nurtured. As a family we feel reassured and included, with staff keeping us updated about every aspect of her care. Most importantly, our mother and grandmother is happy, at peace, and in the very best possible place.

My mother-in-law was welcomed into pitreavie castle in January2025 with dementia. She has been cared from by all staff with kindness and compassion from the minute she entered this beautiful nursing home. She choose her own room looking onto the castle and rabbits running around the grounds which she loves looking out her window every day too. It took a few months for her to settle in but she loves it now, as like her own home which she feels safe and secure. The grand children loves visiting her which they relate to as "grans hotel". Everyone is made welcome and encouraged to visit and join in at all the activities and events. I would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone.

My gran was a resident here from the end of last year until she died last week. She was treated so respectfully and lovingly the whole time, we really couldn't have asked for more. She regained her confidence and freedom since moving in, being taken for activities and spending time with new friends. The food was always good and the place very clean. During her last few weeks we knew how well she was being cared for and it was a great comfort in a difficult time. All staff - from carers and nurses, to the handyman and the cleaners - were very kind and genuinely cared, for which we will always be grateful. She was able to spend her last few weeks and days in a place she was comfortable, rather than having to go into hospital which she never wanted to do. It was the best decision for her to move in, it gave her an extra year of living. The dignity and respect with which she was treated after she died can also not be understated. Thank you to all the stuff.
