We visited the community cafe at Oakeshott house today, myself and my 2 visitors. We sat amongst residents, including my dad enjoying wonderful scones and cakes. We looked through a files of photos logging all activities and events through the years - every resident smiling! The atmosphere was lovely
and the activities co-Ordinator was great. Dads visitors were thoroughly impressed in this and facilities. Oakeshott house has to offer, accommodation, activities, lovely garden etc.

Oakeshott House is a modern, well laid out 3 storey building, with a small but pleasant secure garden that is accessible easily for mobile of wheelchair bound residents. Interior decor in modern light and airy with lovely carpets and furnishings. Rooms for my parents are large and ensuite - ground floor
rooms have french style windows and a small patio. All is very clean and easily maintained. The staff are friendly and very caring - even the 'bacl room' personel and maintenance staff which found surprising.

My mum has only been in Oakeshott for a couple of weeks, but the standard of care she has received in that short time has been nothing short of excellent. Oakeshott has an exceptional and very approachable management team who will stop short of nothing to ensure my mum receives the best care possible.
Oakeshott is a beautiful nursing home which is immaculately kept and would give many 5-star hotels a run for their money.

My mother has been a resident of Oakeshott House for six months now. She has been well cared for in all that time. Unfortunately, Mum's health has declined and is receiving palliative care. As a family, we believe she is receiving care second to none and we cannot thank the staff enough for the care
and support they give Mum and us as a family.

Sadly my mother recently passed away at Oakeshott House. She became a resident in June 2022 because of Alzheimer's and the care and support she received was fantastic. She was a very strong-willed lady and the staff were brilliant at finding the balance between persuading and understanding when something
would be too upsetting. She always said how much she loved it there and although the decor etc was a factor, it was clearly how nicely she was treated that was the most significant factor.
My mum suffered a stroke and was on an end-of-life pathway for 12 days. This is when we truly realised how much she was loved by everyone at Oakeshott. From incredible nursing care and dealing with her medical needs to the dignified way she was physically cared for, nothing was too much trouble. The lasting memory I will have is of how close the staff were to Mum and how they were personally affected by her passing. You have no idea the difference they made to us and we will never forget it.

My husband went to stay in Oakeshott House for one week of respite care. He has heart failure but is mentally good. He received help with showering and toileting but was able to walk to the dining area and was about to enjoy the hotel-like facilities. The carers were good, and there was excellent 24-hour
nursing cover if required and who supervised medication. We would use Oakeshott House for respite care again.

I helped to settle my dear friend into Oakeshott House on behalf of his wife. My dear friend has Alzheimer's and is a true gentleman of exceptional taste with extremely high standards. Upon first inspection, Oakeshott House seems like a five star hotel, from the high quality of interior design to the
exceptional cleanliness and the superb teamwork headed by the manager and assistant manager - both of whom have made extraordinary efforts to accommodate my friend. As I have continued to visit this lovely nursing home, my impression remains the same: Excellent. The telephone is always answered, and the reception remains welcoming and relaxing, whilst the subtle yet effective security measures (such as keypads on the lift) keep the more vulnerable dementia residents safe. Every member of the staff truly cares. I'm so grateful. Thank you. Well done!

After looking at other care homes in the area we are so glad we chose Oakeshott House for our parents. Dad moved there in July after being in another care home and he couldn't be better looked after. Dad and our family and friends have been made so welcome by the management and all of the staff in this
beautiful, modern and very clean care home. He is well cared for and well-loved by all the team. Mum moved to Oakeshott in September after a spell in hospital and then finding she couldn't manage at home without Dad. She has now settled into her routine at Oakeshott House and really appreciates the care she is receiving and enjoying the standard of her beautiful new home. As a family, we cannot praise Oakeshott House management team enough, initially for getting my parents move to them carried out quickly and compassionately and now for the rest of the team looking after my parents on a daily basis. At a time of crisis for us this year, we could not have wished for better care and support.

My mother has settled in well and constantly tells me it is very nice in the home, the people are very kind, the food is very good and that she is staying in a 5-star hotel for retired people! The facilities are superb and having looked at 4 other local care homes, I am very confident and happy that
there is no better home in the area offering the quality of care and comfort as Oakeshott house. They have managed her personal care extremely well, and are very professional at coping with her dementia-related behaviour. It is lovely to know that she feels safe and cared for and is not lonely and vulnerable as she was in her own home.

Having been a resident here since April 2022, I have never been happier in my life. I have reserved all my independence and am very comfortable at the premises. The staff are exceptionally kind and nothing that you ask them to do is ever a bother to them. Visitors are made very welcome and visitors
are all conscious of the informality of things and feel that I am very lucky to be here. There are very nice and plentiful rooms for sitting in and hosting visitors. The food is very tasty, however, I am also out for lunch frequently. It's a real home from home and it's nice to think that if my health gets poorer, I will not have to move out. I feel that the home is extremely well-run, clean and very friendly. I am very much looking forward to the arrival of the new activities coordinator.
