Meet the Team (3)

We are so proud to introduce Brenda as our Care Home Manager at Fernacre Court.
Brenda started her career in care in an old-style elderly care ward in her local hospital aged just 17. She loved it so much that she started her nurse training just 6 months later!
Once Brenda completed her training, she went back to the long-stay and acute elderly care wards in the same hospital, where she had found her passion.
Brenda has had many other roles within the NHS over her 40+ years, and over the last 12 years she has been in the private sector, supporting people to enjoy their lives to the best of their ability in a care home!
Brenda is so looking forward to leading Fernacre and welcoming our residents in the future.

Millie has dedicated over 40 years to the care sector, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience, and compassion to everything she does.
She began her career in Scotland before moving to England 15 years ago, where she has continued her passion for delivering outstanding person-centred care and supporting residents, families, and colleagues alike.
Recently, Millie experienced care from a very different perspective while searching for a care home for her own mum. Despite four decades in the sector, she discovered that being on the family's side of the journey brought a whole new understanding of the emotions, worries, hopes, and difficult decisions involved.
This experience has strengthened her commitment to supporting residents and families with even greater empathy, reassurance, and understanding.
Outside of work, Millie enjoys spending time with her partner, twin children, and her beautiful two-year-old granddaughter, who keeps the whole family on their toes. Family means everything to Millie and is at the heart of her passion for creating a caring, supportive, and homely environment for residents and their loved ones.
Her warmth, dedication, and extensive experience make her a valued and respected member of the care community!

Sue Woodriffe is a warm, approachable member of the team who is passionate about supporting residents, families, and colleagues. She is committed to creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
Sue began her career in care at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic as a domiciliary care worker before spending eight months as a live-in carer for her father. This deeply personal experience gave her first-hand insight into the challenges families face when making care decisions and strengthened her belief in always putting a loved one's wellbeing first.
After her father moved into residential care, Sue moved into an administrative role within another care home before joining our team. Her personal and professional experiences allow her to offer empathy, reassurance, and practical support to residents and their families.
Sue feels she has truly found her calling in the care sector and is proud to be part of a team dedicated to delivering compassionate, person-centred care every day.
