Due to my Mother needing to be repatriated due to a diagnosis of dementia we, as a family were extremely concerned that we find somwhere that would suut her needs but allow her a very fullfilling and comfortable lifestyle.
Thankfully we found Squadron Manor.
Since being a resident there my Mothers health
has improved tenfold and her general wellbeing is so much better.
The staff are very attentive and treat her with respect and maintain her dignity.
The home is of an exceptionally high standard and I cannot rate the place high enough.

We moved mum here in early February so have had the benefit of reasonable amount of time to give this review. The care we have received for mum during the time has been exemplary, her quality of life has improved due to the efforts of the staff and any issues we have had with her settling in have been
listened to and addressed, not as we had experienced in mums previous care home. Basically the difference in both mum and us is hue and positive, thank you team Morar.

We're delighted to hear that your mum's quality of life has improved and that you've felt supported throughout her settling-in period. Our team at Morar is passionate about providing compassionate, person-centered care, and it's wonderful to know that this has made a positive difference for both your mum and your family. Your kind words mean a lot to us and will be shared with the team - thank you again for your thoughtful feedback!

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I visited Squadron Manor to enquire about the possibility of placing my father there, and I was impressed. It is a beautifully building with lots of facilities for the residents. But what impressed me most was the staff who showed me round and those I met on my visit. They were all very caring, interested
and helpful - it gave me confidence that my father would be well cared for there.
We have chosen another care home for Dad, but only on the basis of geography - this was my first choice if he was to stay in the area.
I would definitely recommend everyone looking for a care home to visit Squadron Manor.
Reply from Barbara Alison, Home Manager at Squadron ManorThank you so much for your kind review, and appreciate you taking the time for your positive feedback. We wish Dad all the best in his new home.

This is a brand new care home with no review so far but I can highly recommend it. Although my mum was only with them for just over a week she could not have been looked after better, all the staff, nursing and admin were brilliant. The nursing staff were so so kind and patient with mum and the admin
staff helped me navigate the system and was very knowledgeable and guided me throughout. I had looked at 5 other homes before deciding on this one and it was definitely the right decision
A big big thank you guys
Reply from Barbra Alison, Home Manager at Squadron ManorThank you so much for your kind review and for taking the time to share your experience with us. It truly means a great deal to the whole team.

Although your mum was only with us for a short time, we're very grateful that you chose our home to care for her. Our nursing, care, and administrative teams all work very hard to provide compassionate, supportive care while also helping families navigate what can often be a difficult and emotional time, so it is wonderful to hear that you felt supported throughout.

Your comments about the kindness and patience of our team will be shared with them, as feedback like this really does mean a lot.

Thank you again for your recommendation and trust in us. We wish you and your family all the very best.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.599)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.599) out of 10 for Squadron Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.957 for Squadron Manor is calculated as follows: ( (44 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 46 Ratings = 4.957
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.642 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Squadron Manor is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 15 = 0.267
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
