View Full Details of Kelvinside ManorChoosing a care home for a parent is never an easy choice but I can honestly say I have never had a days worry since my Dad moved into Kelvinside Manor. I now he is well looked after and the staff all seem to genuinely care for him and I know he cares for them. There are so many little things that they do for him that make such a difference and have eased his transition into the home, making him feel safe and at home. Kelvinside Manor is very luxurious and has many amenities but it's the staff that make it a home.
The team at Kelvinside Manor have been absolutely outstanding in their care of my father-in-law. His diabetes is (finally!) well-managed and he has put on much-needed weight. Despite his aphasia and difficulty with communication, he is getting on well and is always full of smiles. I've had other family in retirement, memory, and nursing facilities and can confidently say Kelvinside Manor is by far the best I've experienced for care, cleanliness, and kindness. The home itself is lovely and very comfortable. And we all absolutely love that there is a cafe that gives my father-in-law the sense of "getting out for a nice latte". I am relieved to know that he is being so well looked after.
My family and I have been very impressed by this care home. From the moment you enter, you are greeted with welcoming smiles and positive chat. The residents are all treated with kindness and consideration and are made to feel at home. The building is beautifully furnished, and it is a pleasure to stroll along the picturesque corridors. The bedrooms are quiet, well-furnished, and all have a pleasant outlook. The cafe area, where family and friends can meet with residents, is an excellent asset, as are the outdoor areas which can be accessed easily in good weather. My wife has been in Kelvinside Manor for 8 weeks, and has settled in well, now declaring herself to be in "a nice place". Her health has improved, partly due to the personal care and attention she has received. The food is excellent, varied, and of high quality. She has had access to regular hairdresser, physiotherapy, dentistry and optical services. And she has enjoyed the many and varied activities which are helping to promote new friendships with other residents. We have no hesitation in recommending this excellent Care Home.
This is my second time visiting the home. It has been an incredibly enjoyable experience on both occasions. The care home is tidy and is very clean. The staff have been pleasant and helpful with anything that I needed to assist with my Grandmother. I was impressed with the quality of the food and the variety of options on the menu.
It is a pleasure to see how well my mum is doing in Kelvinside Manor. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and kind. The rooms are beautiful and there is plenty of space both inside and out. My mum and I particularly love going to the cafe for a hot chocolate. There is a very sociable feel and my mum is always being involved in activities. She has settled in well and made new friends. The care is excellent. My mum is supported and encouraged to be active, and her mobility is improving. She enjoys getting her hair and nails done at the lovely onsite salon. The staff are all warm and caring. Nothing is a problem to them. It is so reassuring to see my mum happy, secure and receiving the very best of care.
I feel that my brother is being treated with care and kindness. He is a very eccentric man, but a real effort is being made by the staff to listen to him, understand him, and where possible, to include him in decisions about his own person space. The actual room my brother is in is outstandingly attractive, and also adds to the feeling of community, as it looks onto the beautiful communal internal courtyard.
My mum has been in Kelvinside Manor last month (March 2025). Along with my brother and sister, we felt she would benefit from respite care and having visited the care home and met the manager and some of the team, felt confident that this would be the best place for her. And it really is. Mum has settled in very well and really likes everything about it and has made new friends. She likes the staff (who are all excellent), her lovely room and the garden and enjoys the food and a glass of red wine in the evening. Being in the West End of Glasgow has made it easy for friends and family to visit regularly and have a coffee with her in the cafe there. It is a care home like no other care home we have seen and as a family, have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone else. It is really is first class.
My mother went into Kelvinside Manor in February. She had left hospital in a very frail state. In the time she has been in Kelvinside Manor she is like a new woman. She has improved tremendously in almost every way in a very short space of time . This in my opinion is down to the tremendous effort of all of the staff. Their attention to her needs has been of the highest standard both her medical needs and more personal. The home itself is lovely and food and the other facilities are of a very high standard . To me though it is the care and attention of the staff which really stands out . I spent quite a bit of time prior to mum moving researching it and visiting on a couple of occasions. Everything the manager said they would do has been done perfectly. The manager and her team have also made the process really easy for me and my family . Visitors to my mother have all commented on the positive difference in her in just a few weeks. I would highly recommend this home.
I visit a friend's Mum in KSM regularly. KSM is beautifully decorated, the bedrooms and public areas comfortable and welcoming. She is very settled amongst a caring community of professional, knowledgable and friendly staff that work well together as a team. Her general health and wellbeing have improved noticeably since moving to KSM. The calm atmosphere and plentiful spaces for a chat and a coffee in the open cafe area (which is great!) make visiting a pleasure.
Kelvinside Manor really is a lovely place. My Mum has been there since February 2025 and she has been very well looked after and is both happy and safe here. Her care needs have increased over the years and the staff at this home have stepped up admirably. Her room is very comfortable and well appointed, and mum is always beautifully turned out every day. All of the management and staff have been very friendly and professional and nothing seems to be too much trouble. The dining and communal areas are really lovely and the food seems to be excellent. All in all, Kelvinside Manor is a well run, first rate facility that I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone else.
From my initial meeting with the manager of Kelvinside Manor Care I felt this was the best place for my mum to go for 2 weeks respite care, after which she decided she was like to stay on. Mum has now settled in to her new environment, and she is being very well cared for by the wonderful staff team. The home is attractively decorated, light and airy with the benefit of a quiet central courtyard garden with tables and chairs which residents can easily access. My mum's room is fresh and bright with two windows that look out on the courtyard and she sleeps very well there. The communal living area is another bright and attractive room with doors leading out into the courtyard, and there is a 'cafe' in another area of the building which is a nice place to go for a change of scene. Importantly the food is very good, and my mum loves a particular staff member's excellent home-made shortbread!
Mum has been at Kelvinside Manor since it opened at the end of January. Since then her health and wellbeing has improved greatly as she is being properly cared for and so well looked after in every way. The manager and her team are all very friendly, professional and caring and have created a wonderfully warm, welcoming and homely atmosphere. Mum has a beautiful room and all the communal areas are very comfortable with lovely furnishings and decor, it really is such a wonderful environment. My siblings and I are so grateful to have found such a lovely home for mum and would highly recommend Kelvinside Manor.
It's a big thing moving into a home, and Kelvinside Manor and all the staff are very aware of the change for the resident and their family. My Mum was made to feel so welcome from day one; there was always someone to tell her what was happening or help her in any way she needed. My mum's care plan was put together correctly; time was taken to understand her needs and to make sure she was cared for properly. The staff are genuinely fantastic, and it's clear they love what they do, they offer all the residents the respect and dignity they all so deserve. I love that they have a cafe, for everyone to use at any time, it means when visiting you don't have to sit in a bedroom but can have a coffee or even a glass of wine from the wine cart and sit and feel like you are out when visiting someone in the home. I am confident that this is the best place for my Mum, she loves all the staff which is great and I know she is safe and happy which is the most important thing.
