View Full Details of Meadowbrook Care HomeWe moved my dad to Meadowbrook in July 2025 after he'd been in care for several years prior at another care home. We were absolutely blown away with what presented us. It was unlike any other care home we'd seen before. More like a 5 star hotel. We wished meadowbrook had been open when my dad first went into care as he would have felt very comfortable here. Unfortunately having dementia he's unable to enjoy everything that Meadowbrook have on offer. Nowadays we are more interested in dad being comfortable, we'll fed and a high level of care and attention. We can't fault meadowbrook in any way. They tick all of the boxes. Since moving here his personal care has shown significant improvement. He is eating much better. And in himself he seems much happier. We are so pleased to have chosen to make the move to Meadowbrook its not easy making the decision to move someone with this level of dementia but it was a worthwhile decision. Thank you to everyone at Meadowbrook.
I am blown away with Meadowbrook. I have had to make the most difficult decision to place my brother into care as he can no longer cope with his Parkinson's & Dementia and the home care was not enough. After researching a few homes I was recommended Meadowbrook by my daughter in law who is in the medical profession, and met with Yvonne and I have not looked back since. Yvonne has been there every step of the way since April when the journey began, her advice and support has been second to none. It is due to her warmth and caring and genuine attitude that without doubt made my decision so easy. Laura the Manager came to my brothers home to do the assessment and again was absolutely lovely. The care team are all lovely and engaging. The home is beautiful, fresh, clean and new, lovely furnishings, food is very good, love the bar/bistro area even has a gin & cocktail menu!! A calm, relaxed atmosphere. I initially booked respite and we are integrating into permanent care.
All aspects and all areas of the residential home work for me and have been successfully well designed for its residents generally. The bedrooms, including ensuite shower/toilet, are comfortable and satisfactorily furnished for residents, in which beds are made and rooms cleaned on a daily basis. There are also well-equipped bathrooms available for those that might need them. Breakfast and lunches are very good indeed and lunches offer different menu choices each day. Supper is early and has a more limited menu choice with a degree of repetition. An activities programme is published each week, which contains a variety of interesting choices for residents.
Our family are deeply grateful to the Meadowbrook team for the exceptional care they gave to Dad in the last months of his life and for the compassion they extended to our family. Dad lived with Lewy Body dementia and multiple co-morbidities and he lived in care for several years. We moved him to Meadowbrook because we were more confident they could meet his needs. Dad settled in very quickly because of the personalised, warm and experienced care provided. Over the next few months, the staff took Dad to their hearts and Meadowbrook was a delightful environment in which to visit him. It was difficult to take Dad out, and so eating with him in the Bistro created important memories. The food is excellent! Sadly, Dad passed away two weeks ago. The whole team leaned in to care for him and us and - with excellent co-ordination with the GP and district nurses - we worked together to ensure that Dad had a 'good death'. We genuinely felt part of a caring family. And will always be thankful.
We moved out Dad into Meadowbrook in February and from the outset the team embraced Dad's incredibly complicated medical health & advanced dementia. Having been in a care for years were were both surprised and delighted that after one very unsettled night, he was calm, slept well and had no more of the aggressive outbursts, we'd experienced before. The care plan was exceptional and focused on physical, mental and social health, they did everything they could to ensure his overall wellness. The team made our whole family welcome, they showed kindness and care throughout our time with them and no more so in the last few days of Dad's life. They surrounded us all with love and support and made just being with him in those last few days, relaxed and comfortable. Carers came to spend their breaks with Dad, to talk to him and reassure him. They all spoke in such kind terms, they had really taken Dad to the hearts. Their end of life care was exceptional, we couldn't have hoped for more.
Most noticeable was how the caring staff took a genuine interest in our friend and were keen to kind out about her likes and dislikes to build up a picture of her life before dementia set in. Also by collection our friend from her room and bringing her to the lounge was a particularly thoughtful way of giving her the option of receiving visitors, or not, if it was a 'bad' day for her. Unable to complete all boxes as our visit was fairly brief although overall impression that accommodation was of a high standard and staff very professional.
Wow wow wow !! First class service from the moment we got in touch! All the staff have been extremely friendly & professional. Hygiene and cleanliness 10/10, food and facilities are fantastic. The atmosphere is so welcoming, and they know who we are and who we are visiting. The staff always give us an update on how he has been and what he has been up too !! Thank you ALL so so much for caring for the resident during his short stay, they were certainly a wonderful 4 weeks for him.
Absolutely fabulous from the word go! All staff have been extremely accommodating. Nothing has been too much trouble. Hygiene and cleanliness is first rate, food and facilities are great. The atmosphere in general is welcoming, and they know who and where my relative is when I arrive. My relative has settled well and is happy.
My mother appears to be settling in and enjoying Meadowbrook Care Home. All the start are very professional, friendly and accommodating. The opportunity for our family to dine with my mother on regular occasions is very welcome and a delight.
Aunt settled in well and everybody is very friendly. Used the private dining and had all the family round, great lunch and fab service, this makes the place explain special.
I have been very impressed with Meadowbrook. My Sister. In-law's room is spacious and modern and she seems very happy. As an ex-nurse, I noticed particularly the care and kindness shown to her by the staff. I have always felt welcomed when I visit her and should I need to in the future, Meadowbrook is certainly the home I would choose.
So far i have experienced a 5 star service. All staff members have helped my mum settle into her new home where she appears happy & safe. As soon as you enter Meadowbrook you get a warm friendly greeting with a real good vibe as there is always something going on. Bedrooms & ensuite are spacious, food appears (what I've experienced) good with a good choice. All staff have been friendly, helpful & nothing is too much trouble. Overall I'm glad I picked Meadowbrook.
We were made very welcome, by lovely helpful staff. The building was warm light with beautiful decor, like a really grand hotel. The residents we saw around all looked really happy and well cared for.
My parents have been Meadowbrook since the beginning of February & everyone has been friendly & caring. It has been a very big change for them & they have all helped to settle them in. Meadowbrook has outstanding facilities & activities to suit all abilities. Would definitely recommend.
Management care and attention are excellent, friendly, good communication and caring approach for the resident. Caring staff on what I have observed are a little bit slack and take the residents first reaction as gospel. Resident with dementia sometimes cannot communicate if they are thirsty or hungry and could have not had drink or food all day. I know it's difficult as there are other residents but a bit more observation would greatly help. Staff should encourage residents to get involved and participate in all of the facilities and organised events so the residents settle and enjoy the home easier.
Very pleased with our choice of care home for my husband. He had 2 weeks of respite in another care home earlier which we and he did not like. The care given at Meadowbrook is excellent as is the overall ambiance.
The whole staff team at Meadowbrook Care Home have been consistently friendly, patient and caring towards Mum and any of Mum's visitors. There is a lovely atmosphere in the Bistro and the dining room when the residents are gathered there and it's good to see them enjoying the various activities and entertainment. I love to see the 'Works of Art' on display too that have been created by the residents. It was a difficult decision to move mum to a care home but after the move to Meadowbrook, I wish she had moved here sooner!
My 92-year-old mother went into Meadowbrook Care Home in early January 2025 for respite care following a deterioration in her mobility after a chest infection. My mother has always been fiercely independent and was not keen on going into a home, even for respite care, but the whole experience has been absolutely amazing. The entire staff - from the management to the caring staff and the reception team - have been wonderful - professional, friendly, welcoming, sensitive and caring. The home itself is wonderful with very stylish, comfortable rooms and great bathrooms. The communal areas are fabulous with a lovely cafe, dining room, lounge, cinema room, private dining room, children's area, craft room and probably more places that I haven't yet discovered! My mum has already (in less than a week) visited the hair salon and had her nails done and seen the in-house PT several times to help with her mobility. This is a special place with staff who really care. I couldn't recommend it more.
A very nice new facility, we call it a luxury hotel rather than a care home. Large rooms with ensuite shower rooms and nicely furnished. The hospital-type bed is well-disguised. The staff have been so kind and caring and do everything to keep my mother safe and comfortable. The home has a great vibe with lots of things going on for the residents and their families. It is sad my mother is too poorly to join in and appreciate what there is available to pass the time. I would definitely recommend this home.
My father has just spent 3 weeks at Meadowbrook for respite care. From the moment he arrived until he left a few days ago, he was so well looked after. The staff were super helpful at all times and supported him superbly to achieve his aims to increase his strength and regain his confidence, to enable him to achieve his goal of returning to independent living. I can't thank everybody enough for everything they did for Dad.
