View Full Details of Mistley ManorA very warm, welcoming and friendly home. Carers are excellent - friendly and caring towards their clients. A high standard of attention to detail - pick up on issues that need dealing with. District nurse and doctor referred when slight problem occured. M.Manor is like and operates like a home not an institution. It's the best I could hope for.
Apart from some crossed wires when my 94-year old mother had to go back into hospital, Mistley Manor, with its friendly and dedicated staff, has been a tonic for her. She was in poor condition after suffering a nasty fall at home last July in which she sustained a sub-dural haematoma. But the improvement she has made these past two months has been little short of a miracle - a testament to her cussedness and Mistley Manor's caring touch. Before her fall Mum was fiercely independent and living at home. Initially, she pined for her old life (all but impossible due to her new infirmities), but so positive has her experience of Mistley M been that it's not been mentioned in a while. And that is due simply to the excellence of the place and its staff.
I can't say enough in praise of Mistley Manor. Mum has been at Mistley for 3 plus years now and I have never ever doubted that it was the best place for her care. The whole process from the selection period, settling in and now long term care has been sensitively managed. All the staff are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The family run business brings a 'family' feel to the whole environment. There is so much to do at Mistley Manor! There is always an activity of some sort both morning and afternoon, 7 days a week. They often have visits out to nearby places of interest too! Meal times are organised like it is the dining room at a fancy hotel with tables set out and the food is excellently prepared. I always feel that mum is being well looked after and I am comforted by the knowledge that she is safe at all times.
Mistley Manor was fantastic from the moment we contacted the reception to enquire, through to admission of our Dad. The rooms are exceptional and a really good size. We visited 3 other homes in the area - Mistley Manor is just a huge step above all of them. Staff all excellent. Unbeatable
My Mother was absolutely delighted with the care she received at Mistley Manor. Not only are the facilities wonderful but so were the staff that looked after her, all of them. They were all professional, cheerful, helpful and went out of their way to meet her needs. She has been there twice for respite care and I think actually looks forward to visiting. My family couldn't recommend them enough, fantastic.
Ellen has had three stays with Mistley Manor. Two were short stays and one a little longer when I was in Hospital last year. She was well looked after on all occasions. The staff are all friendly and some remember Ellen from her previous stays. Stephanie was also helpful in arranging the dates.
Beautiful home, five star facilities, staff super helpful and warm and welcoming very kind to the residents. I wouldn't want my mum to be anywhere else but there. Excellent specialist dementia care unit. Always go above and beyond.
My Father has been a resident at Mistley Manor for 2 1/2 years and is 100 years old. He is well cared for and feel that all the staff really find dad a much loved character and have his well being top of their list. He is always clean and his room immaculate and fresh smelling and sunny with a nice garden view. The food is exceptional and meal times an important part of the day. The activities team really go above and beyond Lovely trips out to Duxford war museum, Colchester Zoo, Alpaca farm, lunch for the lads at local pub and singing, exercise classes, film nights, painting and creative times . Mistley Manor ensured Dad had a memorable 100th birthday and the times that he has needed additional support with health issues liaised well with his family showing care and compassion . I am sure no one wishes to be in a care home and we all long to live independently, but at the end of my life I'd be very happy to be cared for here .
Very satisfied with the effort of the team to provide support in all areas. There's individuals who go well beyond what might be expected. We look forward to visiting and hearing about activities in support.
The home does everything well. It's a lovely place with great staff. The greatest care is taken with my mother, and therefore, I have peace of mind. Mum is very happy, and all the residents are when I visit.
Mum has had excellent care as she had a couple of health scares this month but i have been kept informed regularly which is greatly appreciated. She went on the trip this month and was so happy in the photos it was lovely to see. She is encouraged to join in the activities and did some anazing painting recently and when the sing-song starts mum joins in immediately.but if she doesn't want to she will relax with the carers and chat.which they always tell me about when i visit.i can't thank everyone enough for the care given to mum
My sister-in-law sadly passed away with Alzheimers at the beginning of September having spent her last four years in Mistley Manor. During all of that time we were extremely satisfied with the care and compassion she received, and we had no complaints whatsoever. The food was of a high standard, and the activities such as art, music, and dance were greatly appreciated. We would particularly like to thank the home for the support they gave us, the family, in her final days. We were very grateful for this at a difficult time. We would thoroughly recommend Mistley Manor to anyone needing to consider placing a relative or friend in care.
This is definitely the best place for our mother, now that she can't live alone. Firstly the staff are wonderful. That is ALL staff. So friendly and know our mother very well straight from when she first moved in. Rooms are lovely and the communal areas clean and welcoming. The whole place has an air of calmness which is just lovely.
Always a welcoming at reception when visiting our dear friend. When we see our friend she is always clean and smart. She always enjoys her meals, indeed we have also eaten lunch with her. The meals are of good standard and there is a nice varied menu to hold her interest. When approached the staff have always been helpful and courteous. This make the visit even more comfortable. The general appearance of Mistley Manor is always of good standard including the well planned garden areas.
Mistley Manor really looked after my Father, the carers were brilliant. Office and reception staff were really genuine and kind in fact everyone was. Only issue was the arrival when there wasn't a chair for dad as requested when we looked round, but it was sorted in quick time, so amazing
My mum moved into the care home originally to give my dad some respite as she suffers with Alzheimer's. The love and care of the staff, not just the careers, but the cleaners, the tea ladies, the cleaners, reception ladies, ended up with us moving her in full time. She has got some of her life back with more freedom to do what she wants knowing the team look after her so well. Highly recommend (and the cakes are amazing)
I had only heard good things about Mistley Manor but wasn't expecting to have to make such an enormous decision so quickly. Our mother has been a resident for the past 2 weeks and the care from staff in settling her in and making her room homely (thanks to the Handymen) has been wonderful. Who ever the staff member is eg catering/domestic or carer they all have time to have a chat with mum and make her feel special, that to me is priceless! Thank you all
Dad was at Mistley Manor for respite care for a month and received very good care during his stay. On arrival the maintenance team were especially helpful to get all the necessary equipment that Dad needed sourced and working for him. All the staff are very personable and cheerful. Dad especially praises the chefs at Mistley Manor and the high quality and range of the meals on offer.
I cannot praise this home or its staff and management for their high level of care and respect they show to my Mum and us as a family She has settled there and is happy and fulfilled in life and I cannot honestly say there is nothing that is too much trouble for them. I would recommend Mistley Manor to anybody looking to live the rest of their lives in a safe and happy environment.
Since our mother moved into Mistley Manor, she has been very happy and settled and we couldn't wish for better care. She takes part in stimulating activities and is much more alert, interested in everyday things and is much more active physically. She absolutely loves the food and has put on weight, which is a relief as she had lost a lot of weight in the last couple of years. The staff are just fantastic and being able to have her hair and nails done regularly is lovely to see. Mum moving to Mistley Manor has given my brother and I peace of mind, so thank you to everyone involved in her care.
