Portsdown View has created a safe and nurturing environment for my father since June. I have felt listened to by staff and they have acted on any concerns including medication or diet. The house staff keep the care home clean and tidy. The care staff show they know Dad well and support him well with
personal hygiene and interaction. There has been a blip with no one heading events recently but a new lady started yesterday.

From the moment we stepped into the home, we felt that we were in a comfortable environment where the residents are treated as an individual. Each room is designed differently. The food for residents and visitors is excellent. The hospitality from the team is truly exceptional. There is choice with
everything from decor to food to entertainment. The resident is truly independent and they are able to show hospitality with family and friends. The wine!! Delicious. Helathy choice in food. All the managers are kind and very approachable. Thank you for everything. Well done! PS Difficult to get in at times, problem with doors.

The staff are always positive and friendly. There is usually 2 activities going on at any time for residents to join in. Having coffee and cake available for guests and residents is a lovely touch. All in all, a wonderful experience.

My father has been at Portsdown View for nearly two years. He is very happy there, the staff, facilities and food have made his life have purpose and quality. The staff are consistently lovely, caring and patient. I visit him and leave in the knowledge he is safe, well-liked and looked after. I
cannot thank everyone enough, they reassure my father who means a great deal to me.

I always come twice a week to see my friend Hilda - I always find the staff so pleasant and friendly. I have had a few Sunday lunches and have always found them lovely.

Initial review overall, happy, nice looking, good garden, etc. Staff - majority are excellent and very caring, give us time and are observant of our needs. Very welcoming to our family and friends.

Overall my stay at Portsdown View could not be bettered. All staff - carers, kitchen people, housekeepers, cleaning teams. Each person is always ready with a big smile and help if needed. They even remember all our names! To my friends I call Portsdown View my hotel! Thank you all of you.

My nan has been a resident at portsdown view for over a year now, after being apprehensive about moving from her home to a care setting, as a family we couldn't be more pleased. Staff at portsdown view are like a second family to nan and went above and beyond to ensure she settled and have continued
to do so since to make sure she is happy and comfortable.

Portsdown View Care Home came highly recommended to me for a period of respite care following major surgery. The experience was entirely new and can only be described as a relaxed, friendly hotel. Every facility is provided, from hairdressing, barbers, and beauty salon. Various dining rooms, a
bistro and a lovely room for entertaining family and friends. Everywhere tastefully decorated, encouraging people to mix. The staff were friendly and caring, but like everywhere also found themselves overworked at times. My experience gave me all I needed, peace, time to read and sleep. Would highly recommend.

My life long friend spent the last days of her life being cared for with the upmost respect, compassion and professionalism from all the staff she encountered. Daily I witnessed the kindness, affection and support she received from a total team, regardless of appointed roles. Connaught management
can be justly proud of their staff who will always go beyond the letter of their contracts. The final journey my friend took was in peace, pain free and total comfort, in a tranquil environment, for which I will always be eternally grateful.

We had to make the decision to seek a care home for my elderly mother in law. I started my search using CQC website. From our initial contact to moving in. I continue to be impressed with the professional and caring way we have treated. The whole process has been smooth and communication has been
open and regular. I am grateful for the help and personal service that we have received from Portsdown view.
The rooms are beautifully furnished, the entrance is fresh and welcoming. Staff stop to say hello, residents all present as being well respected and listened to. The choice of activities and the menu options are outstanding.
The process of placing a loved one into residential care is stressful and heart wrenching, however with the support and kindness of Portsdown view I am confident that my family member will thrive and as a family we will be reassured that they are safe, happy and cared for.

We were visiting a friend and had a lovely tea and tour around the home. The facilities are more like a first class hotel. Very impressive and everyone was very friendly and helpful.

My wife has just spent 2 weeks respite care at Portsdown View, and this is the second time we have used the respite facilities. My wife looks forward to this and it enables me as her full time carer to go on holiday with my family. We know she is being well looked after whilst in the home and my
family and I can rest assured she is in good hands. All the staff are welcoming and very helpful for my wife's needs. We are so happy with the service we will be encouraging another visit for her in August.

My mother stayed in Portsdown View for four weeks for respite care after breaking her arm. We found the care home by chance whilst searching for homes on the internet, and we're very glad we did. The care given to mum was first-class. We can't fault it in any way - all the staff were wonderful and
nothing was too much trouble. The facilities at the home are amazing and the whole atmosphere of the place is more that of a hotel than a care home. The room was spacious and comfortable - mum said she'd never slept in such a comfortable bed - with a nice outlook over a small garden. Mum didn't socialise much although we tried to persuade her to, but had she wanted to then all the facilities were there for mixing with other residents. We're grateful to everyone for the care they gave and wouldn't hesitate to use Portsdown View again in the future if the need arose.

I had major abdominal surgery at the end of March and was in hospital for a week. I had investigated places for a week's convalescent care afterwards and Portsdown View was only a 10 minute drive from where my daughter lives. I went to see the place before my operation and was so impressed that I
booked a weeks stay after leaving hospital.
When I stayed at Portsdown View I could not fault the staff, accommodation, managers and food provided in the restaurant. The staff were amazing and look after the residents with compassion and nothing is ever too much.
The residents who are there permanently have a lovely environment, are well looked after and are entertained with activities.
I would definitely recommend Portsdown View for a short or long stay.

My family had a long haul holiday and was looking for respite for caring for elderly mother. I chose Portsdown view as previously visited and mother's sister is in full term care. My initial contact with the care home was very positive, excellent communications. A week prior to her arriving we
had an assessment review which was detailed and made me fill happy leaving my mother in their care. The accommodation, staff and managers were excellent and she received outstanding care and they provided constant activities to keep her engaged and made sure she felt as she was on holiday. The food standards were excellent, beautiful maintained facilities. I will certainly recommend and will use again. I can't thank the team enough for all they did and in such a positive manner.

My parents came in on respite after my mothers operation. Sadly they didn't mix much but I can't fault the staff. Care was carried out in full but any extra help was hit and miss when it came to exercises and physio. With regard to management, I can only thank the staff member in the bistro and
another in the office. Without their help and understanding I don't know what would have happened. Two incredible people!!
