View Full Details of Prestwood LodgeMum spent her last eight months at Prestwood Lodge and was very well looked after throughout her time there. During her career Mum trained Inspectors of care facilities for the elderly and she would not have been backward in coming forward if Prestwood Lodge had not met her high standards, however, she was full of praise for the staff and facilities. Mum got on very well with the carers and I saw at first-hand how professional and caring they were to her. She also loved chatting with all the other staff and really appreciated the company. Mum was widowed during her stay and the kindness and support she was given at that time was wonderful. It was my mum's intention to stay at Prestwood Lodge for the rest of her life and was very much looking forward to her future there. Sadly, this was not as long as we had all hoped. In any event I am grateful that she spent the last months of her life being so well looked after and happy at Prestwood Lodge.
I can't thank Prestwood Lodge staff for all the care they gave my dear friend, and all the support they gave me going through a difficult time. On entering Prestwood Lodge you feel like you are arriving in a four star hotel. The surroundings, decor and ambience are first class. The transition of moving into the Lodge was so supportive, within no time my friend and myself felt we had been staying/visiting the Lodge for a long time. With the welcome, professional staff you soon felt at ease in the Lodge. Communial rooms are comfortable and airy. You feel like you are in the countryside, which is handy to get to. Bedrooms are functional, bright and roomy. The Lodge is spotlessly clean, food is varied, well cooked and served in their beautiful restaurant. There are plenty of activities if you want to take part, they welcome visitors as to take part as well. In all the staff were professional, friendly, happy and so caring. Thank you so much all of you.
On the 3rd July 2025, my 102-year-old mum passed away peacefully despite the love and care given to her by the extraordinary staff at Prestwood Lodge Care Home. In January 2025, we had originally taken my mum in for 2 weeks' respite. The first day there I was feeling nervous, apprehensive and had the feeling I was letting my mum down as I'd said I would never put her in a home. However, the staff were wonderful, kind and caring, and during the last ten days, my daughter and I spent as much time as we could there, and the staff went above and beyond the call of duty. They 'carried us' with their kind words and uplifting attitudes - we shared tears and laughter! It was the best decision we made, not only for my mum but as a family. I feel I will never be able to repay them for the extraordinary care they gave us. Bless each and every one of them!
My Mum spent a year at Prestwood, until she was hospitalised in May 2025. She was discharged back to the care of Prestwood, but was unfortunately admitted back to hospital a couple of days later. She was not well enough to return and had to have Nursing care after that. Mum had the most wonderful year here. She was so loved and cared for by all the staff who are part of the amazing family that is Prestwood Lodge. Mum left with so many happy memories. My sister, brother and I, thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, for caring so completely for our Mum, and for the incredible support you gave us, too. You are angels. Thank you.
My Mum passed away in December 24 but was a resident for 3 years at Prestwood. She was offered very good overall care and enjoyed numerous activities and entertainment throughout her residency. All staff were very kind, thoughtful and attentive to my Mum and to us as her family. In particular, at the time of her passing, which is always a difficult time, the greatest of empathy and end of life care was given to her and us. We can't fault this home and would recommend to anyone. Thank you Prestwood.
After my mum broke her wrist, she wanted to try a home. We chose Prestwood Lodge. We were very impressed with the home, the surroundings were beautiful, very clean and comfortable. Mum was most impressed with the food. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Prestwood Lodge.
Mum came to Prestwood for 2 weeks of respite. After only one week she told us she was “100% certain” that she wanted to stay! That really says it all. Every single member of staff helped us with this very emotional time in our lives and made Mum feel completely at home. Mum continues to love her new life at Prestwood and has settled completely into her new home. We can’t thank them enough.
The entire team provided wonderful care for my beloved mum. We were genuinely touched by the amazing patience and kindness they showed, which massively enhanced the last year of Mum’s life well beyond her, and our wildest expectations. I will forever be indebted to everyone at Prestwood.
My father was cared for with respect and dignity. The staff were professional, friendly and supportive. The staff were cheerful and took time to sit down and chat with my dad, someone was always popping their head in the door to check if he needed anything. His room was always very clean, as was the whole home. There were activities planned all the time, the staff made a real fuss of my dad on his birthday it was very touching.
My mother received excellent care throughout the five years that she lived in Prestwood, and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering residential care. The care provided is outstanding, and the staff are professional, kind and caring. All members of the team go above and beyond what is expected to provide the very best care for the residents. The surroundings are luxurious, beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. There is a wide variety of daily activities and entertainment for the residents. There is a varied daily menu which should tempt every palate. I found the staff to be loving and very supportive of my mother (and my family) as her needs changed. They did their very best to care for her for as long as possible, and I will always be very grateful for that.
My aunt, who is 101 years old, is now a permanent resident. Communication with the care home is excellent. We are kept fully informed and included in her life at Prestwood. She enjoys the food, the care, the company and the activities programme. We are always made very welcome and enjoy visiting her in this warm and friendly environment. We would have no hesitation in recommending Prestwood to anyone who was considering a care home placement.
Mom had a couple of months in respite care at Prestwood Lodge in early 2018. When Mom needed a permanent care home a couple of years later we were delighted that she was able to return to Prestwood. Many, if not most of the staff were the same, which provided Mom and us as a family with reassurance. The rooms were lovely, the activities team proactive, there were no rigid timetables, residents could join in with whatever they wished, go to bed whenever they wished, and visitors could pop in anytime. The care and attention that mom received from the care team were admirable. They encouraged mom to knit again, to sing again it was always personal for my mom. Sadly Mom passed away in May 2023, at where Mom truly considered her home, Prestwood. The team were incredible. The compassion they showed and the care they gave could not have been bettered. I am so glad Mom was able to spend her final years at Prestwood.
Prestwood Lodge has welcomed mum and her family from day one. All staff we have met are friendly, respectful, caring, kind and have time for mum and time to chat with the family ensuring all needs continue to be met. The transition to a care home has been stressful and emotional but the team at Prestwood have helped to reduce the anxiety. The rooms are spotless, the menu provides a nutritious selection and portions are generous. The individual en-suite rooms are beautiful, including the views. Residents aren't pressured into joining activities, mum can choose what she wishes to join in with and can still enjoy having her hair, feet and nails done by visiting professionals. Thank you to the whole team, for working to run and maintain a quality home whilst keeping mom safe, healthy and comfy.
I selected Prestwood Lodge as a final home for my mother. It proved to be an excellent choice as the manager and all staff were indeed wonderful. The cleanliness, facilities and general care given here were the best that I could wish for and believe me my mother wasn't easy to please. Everyone there was patient and nothing was too much trouble. Prior to finding this home, I had looked at many care homes and my mother had spent 2 months in a very expensive so-called luxurious home but Prestwood proved so much better all around. If you are reading this and wondering should I try for your relative, don't hesitate, it is a superb home from home establishment.
Mum loved living here and made many friends. She especially enjoyed the activities: quizzes, crafts, chair exercises, parties, trips out for fish and chips and ice cream, pickling onions, barbecues, visits from singers and local school children etc! The staff became her good friends and there was always lots of fun and laughter. The food at Prestwood Lodge is delicious and when we were out Mum would check her watch because she didn’t want to miss dinner. In the summer the residents can choose to sit outside under large parasols. There isn’t a bedtime. There’s no, ‘it’s 8.30 let’s get everyone to bed.’ Each resident chooses when they wish to go to bed and a couple will sit up late sipping a sherry. Wonderful! I recommend Prestwood Lodge without hesitation.
My Grandmother came here for respite October 2019 for a couple of days following a fall. On collection my Nan has enjoyed her stay so much she asked if she could stay longer. My Nan feels very safe, extremely friendly staff, fantastic food and great facilities. My Nan was never fond of care homes but this is exceptional. We as a family have complete peace of mind and reassurance she is receiving the best possible care. Can’t praise the staff enough. Many thanks, your help and support are very much appreciated.
My mother-in-law has been a resident for almost a year. She is 102 years old. We have found the care home excellent. Earlier this year she fell whilst out and broke her hip. After two weeks in hospital she was discharged. We were quite worried as her condition was not that good. But after a couple of days, she was getting about fine with her frame. All down to the excellent work by the staff.
I am very happy with the care my Mother is receiving at Prestwood Lodge. all the staff are both caring and professional. The surroundings are beautiful and clean and the food excellent. Any medical problems which may occur are dealt with immediately and smoothly without causing any unnecessary alarm to my Mother.
My sister was in Prestwood Lodge from April 2017 to March 2019. Throughout this time the care she received was unbeatable. The courtesy extended to family and friends visiting was superb with everyone being made welcome. My sister had Parkinson's and in her last few weeks, she was treated with the uttermost dignity and specialised care, giving her the most peaceful end to her life. The family will be eternally grateful to the home for caring for her with so much affection.
