View Full Details of Riverside LodgeMum came to stay at Riverside Lodge (initially for respite) at the end of April this year. This is her first care review after feeling understandably apprehensive about the move. Mum has settled in extremely well. Key factors have been: Friendly, caring attitude of staff - Mum feels 'safe' and supported. Staff members are approachable and willing to problem-solve any minor issues that may occur. Good quality facilities - Mum has a comfortable room. Shared areas are well presented and provide space for visitors. Establishment of friendships with other residents - sharing a wide range of activities.
Mum has been a resident at Riverside Lodge for a while now. She made the decision to stay after respite care. Things have been amazing giving her a new lease of life. This month she was extremely poorly and was admitted to hospital. When she finally returned we thought it wouldn't be for long. Incredibly, with the hard work and dedication of all the staff she is eating again and joining in with all the activities she enjoys. They work so well as a team and know the residents needs and requirements inside out. Thanks to them we as a family are seeing our mum return. Thank you everyone at Riverside Lodge
After an illness my stepfather moved to Riverside Lodge for respite. He was so happy and impressed with the level of care and facilities that he decided to move in permanently. He has been there 2 weeks and he has improved so much - he is being looked after, cleaned and cared for, which has put our minds at rest. Riverside opened January 2024 and the facilities are outstanding as are the staff. There are dining rooms on all the floors if residents choose to eat there or alternatively they can eat in their room. The rooms are ample size with an en suite wet room and toilet. The Swan Cafe on the ground floor is a nice meeting point for relatives to sit with their loved one. This is an area that is used for the activities - Mothers Day lunch, singalongs, quizzes and other activities. There is a cinema room on the ground floor with popcorn and ice cream. The staff go above and beyond and are really friendly and we feel very reassured that our relative has decided to stay.
Went in for respite care following care for short spell at home followed by necessary care at Care Home. I received kindness I had forgotten existed by staff members whilst there. I was given personal attention in my room and the dining room. The staff were always willing to escort me to the Dining Room although it was not always necessary. When I had a guest the staff would immediately bring to my room a tray of coffee, etc. The food was excellent and the rooms very comfortable with a comfortable armchair, well appointed wet room and the staff always willing to help. There was a TV which was accessible to watch. The rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. My view was pleasant overlooking the local Church. There was a comfortable seating area as an extension of the dining area where I could look out at the water park. The staff were always ready to bring a cup of tea/coffee. The kindness of the staff was incredible, helping me and listening to me when I was upset.
My grandma has been residing at Riverside Lodge for a few weeks. The staff have all been kind and patient, which has helped her settle in. She has also been able to participate in gardening activities which is very important to her. Overall she is much happier at Riverside than she was at two previous care homes, one local and another in further away. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home for your relatives.
My dad has been a respite resident for the last couple of months following a lengthy stay at hospital, where he lost his confidence in his mobility. The environment has been great for him in terms of transitioning back to a more 'normal' life. The facilities and activities that have been open to him, have really helped to build his confidence. His room is clean and airy and its great it has direct access to outside. The lounge has been a great hub of social activity though it has been disappointing for the last few weeks that there has been no TV which is often the vehicle to bring the residents together, but this was minor and it hasn't detracted from the overall experience. Dad has really loved the use of other facilities such as the cinema room. Overall the staff have been really excellent, supportive and caring, and made residents, visitors and relatives feel welcome and safe.
My Mum recently visited Riverside Lodge for a 3 week respite stay, having just come out of hospital and while family members were away on holiday. Mum has had respite stays in 2 other care homes in the last 12 months and she definitely preferred Riverside Lodge, as did we. The care home is brand new so the environment and facilities are first class as you would expect, but most important was the friendliness and care provided by the staff - Mum said that nothing was too much trouble. She also enjoyed the range of activities on offer, and we felt that the layout of the home (with a lounge / dining room and dedicated care team on each floor) made it a more personal experience. Mum also made friends with several other residents while she was there. Riverside Lodge will be our first choice whenever Mum needs further care home stays in future.
Cannot thank Riverside enough for the care and support they provide to my mother in law. The staff are caring helpful and kind and nothing is too much trouble if she wants to do something other residents don't eg visit to the supermarket for some flowers. The home is spotlessly clean, there is a friendly atmosphere and numerous activities and entertainment provided which are fun and stimulating for residents. Meals look lovely and there is always food available for residents and there families alike. The lodge have allowed a huge weight to be lifted from our shoulders and we can rest in the knowledge that she is safe, looked after and eating nutritious food regularly and always treated with dignity and respect by all members of staff. Thank you
My mother I must say was not happy with going into a 'home' but quite honestly it's more like a hotel. She has settle very well and has enjoyed interaction with the other residents . From a personal point of view I feel at ease knowing that my mother is being well cared for in an environment that she enjoys . The staff are very upbeat and cheerful. They welcome the family when visiting and actually it is like a large family . The rooms are very light and spacious with good size shower rooms on suite . Riverside Lodge is a very pleasant place to visit with a cinema room and again feels like a hotel. Many places for the elderly do not have the ambience that Riverside Lodge has. If anyone is looking for a residential home for an elderly relative I would recommend they visit Riverside Lodge Rickmansworth..
My mother was very comfortable at Riverside and enjoyed her stay. There is a happy and very caring atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful and kept our family informed as needed. Mum, my sister and I would not hesitate to recommend Riverside Lodge.
My mother in law was treated very well during her stay. The care staff were excellent and made her feel safe and secure. The managing team kept us well informed both before and during her stay. The catering & facilities were of a high standard and i would have no qualms entrusting her with the team again.
Riverside lodge staff have always presented as caring capable and responsive to the needs of my mother. They have taken time to find out about her and her needs and interests. They are aware of her wishes to be as independent as possible. She has significant visual issues and has very little eye sight. Staff manage the risk related to her blindness with sensitivity allowing her to garden and socialise. She presents as happy and settled. I could not ask for more from a care home
My mother started as a Respite resident and is now permanently living in Riverside. She has settled well and thoroughly enjoys interaction with the other residents and their daily activities. The care team are very kind.
My mother was staying for respite care and the transition to being a permanent resident was handled very well. My mother is now settled in and enjoying the great activities and meals very much. On visiting Riverside Lodge I find the staff very welcoming and helpful. The bedroom, ensuite, and recreation areas are very clean, warm, bright, and comfortable. It is very comforting to know that my mother is safe and is being very well cared for by the excellent staff.
I was absent when Dad urgently needed a place at a care home (at the advice of his palliative team). Riverside Lodge found him a room at very short notice, smoothing the way for my sisters (who had to manage the situation). His stay at Riverside turned out to be very short, but as his health rapidly deteriorated the staff kept him and the family very comfortable - they were welcoming and compassionate, and (as reported by my sisters) even provided regular supplies of tea, cakes and snacks as they waited by Dad's bedside. A bonus was being able to hear the bells that Dad would have heard from his childhood home. Altogether, the experience could hardly have been better at a very emotional time. I have visited the home a couple of times myself, but not while Dad was there. Consequently, I cannot really give ratings for some of the categories. I have rated these as "satisfactory".
My elderly aunt had a fall which affected her confidence and mobility. She spent a week at the care home which helped her literally find her feet and rebuild her confidence. The facility is very clean and has a nice homely feel and is perfectly located being so close to the town centre. The staff were amazing and looked after my aunt, who can be difficult, with huge professional pride. I would highly recommend this home to others.
We have been extremely impressed with the care shown and support given to us and our family member as they moved into Riverside. All of the staff have shown care and compassion in excellent surroundings.
My mum has been at Riverside Lodge since it opened in January 2024. It is a lovely home, beautifully decorated and with very good facilities. The staff are caring, kind, friendly and helpful to Mum and to her family and other visitors. I find management very approachable, and, like all the staff, they place Mum's happiness and safety as most important. I am so thankful that Mum is in such a lovely and safe home where she is genuinely cared about, and very well cared for.
It was a real pleasure to visit my friend in this wonderfully resourced home. Having felt quite low previously, in Riverside my friend became her old self again due to having help with all her daily needs, meaning she could once again experience life to the full. I noticed the staff were attentive, but not overbearing, and were respectful to all. Thank you Riverside for your care and attention.
My wife has been in Riverside Lodge since March. We looked at several care homes in the area before making our final choice, and four months later we are sure we made the right choice. Being a new purpose-built care home the residents enjoy the many benefits it offers. On our first visit, we were immediately impressed by the entrance which leads into a welcoming lounge, comfortable light and tastefully decorated. The rest of the Riverside is similarly appointed. After the initial settling-in process, my wife has settled down very well and even she says, we made the right choice, she is especially complimentary about the food with she enjoys. The staff from reception to all the nursing staff are charming and nothing is too much trouble for them.
