Riverside Lodge

My mother has been a resident at Riverside Lodge for 2 years and has been looked after extremely well by all of the staff. Recently my mother had to go to hospital by ambulance, all was handled very well, my mother is back and on new medication and being monitored by the doctor. And is doing well. Enjoying the very good care, great food and fantastic activities. It is extremely comforting for all of the family to know our mother is being so well cared for and that she is safe and living in a very pleasant and clean environment.

Our cousin (Angela) came to Riverside Lodge in Spring 25. We have been very impressed with the excellent care she has received. Staff are consistently kind, caring and respectful. Angela is very well looked after. She has a lovely room and loves the food. She speaks well of her carers. We feel that she is thriving here.

I found the staff very helpful in every way and was completely satisfied with my total care.

Mum has been a resident at Riverside Lodge for just over a year. She tried out several homes via short respite stays, and we all agreed that Riverside was the best for her needs. As it is a purpose built home that has opened in the last few years, the environment is modern and attractive, and there are plenty of activities to appeal to residents with differing likes and needs. However most importantly the staff are lovely - consistently kind and caring. Mum is happy and therefore so are we.

Deciding that mum should move to Riverside Lodge was a huge decision and the manager and deputy manager couldn't have been more supportive. They were happy to answer questions and offer reassurance, and worked with me to ensure that the transition was as smooth as possible for mum. Now that mum has lived there for over six months, I can see how the care staff have got to know her. They are kind and patient and treat mum with dignity and respect. The activities staff are wonderful, working hard to provide interesting and meaningful experiences and looking for ways to reach all residents, not just those who come to group activities. They even take mum and some other residents to St Mary's next door for the service on Sunday mornings. There's a warm welcome from the staff on the reception desk, a bright and airy café to enjoy and comfortable lounges on every floor. I'm so grateful to all the staff at Riverside Lodge who go out of their way to make mum (and me!) feel so at home.

As my father's dementia causes more decline in his abilities, the carers and activity staff have adapted to keep him as mobile and stimulated as possible. I have witnessed all staff show caring and compassion to him. I am so glad that we picked Riverside Lodge to care for him.

The communication is excellent and you are always kept informed about your loved one. I truly appreciate the dedication and hard work of all the staff. Their kindness and genuine care makes such a difference to me and I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to other families.

My Stepfather moved into Riverside Lodge April 2025. His room was on the 3rd floor with a view of St Marys Church. He has been so well looked after during this time, fed, clean and well taken care of. Staff are amazing especially Toska, Vivianna, Louise, Abbie, Fedosa and Teresa. The care home is so well run by the manager, Agnes and her admin team - Sadie, Ruth, Amy, Sarah and Mason. There is always a smile from the staff when we arrive. The entertainment team are also very good at encouraging residents out of the room to take part in singalongs, events etc. Unfortunately my stepfather died two weeks ago but he has had the best last 11 months of his life that he could have had and in fact he has probably lived longer than if he had been at home. The care given wasn't just for my stepfather but to my family too. There have been many hugs over the last few weeks. Thank you to all the staff for your concern and care.

Establishment of friendships with other residents - sharing a wide range of activities.

Mum has been a resident at Riverside Lodge for a while now. She made the decision to stay after respite care. Things have been amazing giving her a new lease of life. This month she was extremely poorly and was admitted to hospital. When she finally returned we thought it wouldn't be for long. Incredibly, with the hard work and dedication of all the staff she is eating again and joining in with all the activities she enjoys. They work so well as a team and know the residents needs and requirements inside out. Thanks to them we as a family are seeing our mum return. Thank you everyone at Riverside Lodge

The kindness of the staff was incredible, helping me and listening to me when I was upset.

My grandma has been residing at Riverside Lodge for a few weeks. The staff have all been kind and patient, which has helped her settle in. She has also been able to participate in gardening activities which is very important to her. Overall she is much happier at Riverside than she was at two previous care homes, one local and another in further away. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home for your relatives.

His room is clean and airy and its great it has direct access to outside. The lounge has been a great hub of social activity though it has been disappointing for the last few weeks that there has been no TV which is often the vehicle to bring the residents together, but this was minor and it hasn't detracted from the overall experience. Dad has really loved the use of other facilities such as the cinema room. Overall the staff have been really excellent, supportive and caring, and made residents, visitors and relatives feel welcome and safe.

My mother I must say was not happy with going into a 'home' but quite honestly it's more like a hotel. She has settle very well and has enjoyed interaction with the other residents . From a personal point of view I feel at ease knowing that my mother is being well cared for in an environment that she enjoys . The staff are very upbeat and cheerful. They welcome the family when visiting and actually it is like a large family . The rooms are very light and spacious with good size shower rooms on suite . Riverside Lodge is a very pleasant place to visit with a cinema room and again feels like a hotel. Many places for the elderly do not have the ambience that Riverside Lodge has. If anyone is looking for a residential home for an elderly relative I would recommend they visit Riverside Lodge Rickmansworth..

My mother was very comfortable at Riverside and enjoyed her stay. There is a happy and very caring atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful and kept our family informed as needed. Mum, my sister and I would not hesitate to recommend Riverside Lodge.

My mother in law was treated very well during her stay. The care staff were excellent and made her feel safe and secure. The managing team kept us well informed both before and during her stay. The catering & facilities were of a high standard and i would have no qualms entrusting her with the team again.

Riverside lodge staff have always presented as caring capable and responsive to the needs of my mother. They have taken time to find out about her and her needs and interests. They are aware of her wishes to be as independent as possible. She has significant visual issues and has very little eye sight. Staff manage the risk related to her blindness with sensitivity allowing her to garden and socialise. She presents as happy and settled. I could not ask for more from a care home

My mother started as a Respite resident and is now permanently living in Riverside. She has settled well and thoroughly enjoys interaction with the other residents and their daily activities. The care team are very kind.

I have visited the home a couple of times myself, but not while Dad was there. Consequently, I cannot really give ratings for some of the categories. I have rated these as "satisfactory".
