Greenacres

from Kevin H (Nephew of Resident) published on 18 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Auntie has always been treated with respect and is very happy with the lovely staff here at Greenacres, having had previous experience at this care home with my late Mum, I had no hesitation in her being cared for here.
The staff treat all residents with love and care that you would expect from
a family environment.
I can't speak highly enough of the staff here, and are always happy to chat about anything concerning that you might have.
I'm also very impressed the way they engage residents in daily activities, too many to mention but range from singing, dancing, chair exercises, flower arranging, food prep, trips out to garden centres, shopping trips.
I have seen many care homes with my work as an visiting Electrician in previous years and none come close to Greenacres.
Some look like hotels but the care is sadly lacking.
Our family are so pleased my Auntie is being cared for here.
Reply from John Joannides, Corporate Services at GreenacresThank you for your kind review of Greenacres. We're so pleased that you're happy with the care given to your mother and your aunt. We're also happy that you've found the activities in the home varied and engaging. Your review will mean a lot to the staff in the home.

The staff of Willow Court looked after our friend Pamela with such kindness and gentle care and professionalism. She had no family left but a group of friends who visited regularly during the months she lived in the home. Willow Court has an atmosphere of friendliness, jollity, peace and good food....the
staff handled our 92 year old friend's passing with great tenderness..Thank-you so much..

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Following on from my previous review I still have nothing but praise for this amazing care home. Beane River is so homely, relaxed and welcoming. It's like home from home. My dad is happy in the moment (anyone that knows dementia will understand this phrase) always so well cared for, respected, treated
with dignity, allowed an opinion and listened to. He has fantastic personal care, always looks smart, thanks to the carers time and patience and your lovely hairdresser too. Everyone is an individual and the residents likes, dislikes, needs etc are all catered for. All members of staff are personable, approachable, helpful and supportive not only of my dad but they're also there for family members too. I trust the carers 100% to look after my dad, they are all so genuinely caring and go above and beyond. When my dad is poorly they couldn't do any more for him, I'm so grateful of the care he receives. The food is great, lots of choice, there's outings & activities too.

Communication levels between front desk workers and general staff are not very good, and the follow-up procedure for doctors is also poor (in our case).

Mum moved in 1st October following visits to other care homes. She was happy with the decision. There was an initial problem with a resident who was wandering into rooms. We spole to the senior care manager - difficult conversation but he was moved the next day. Mum is now begining to settle in. Interior,
environment and garden are very good for her, room is managed effectively and staff are kind and responsive. The cafe and activity programme are poactive and put on a good range of activities and Mum is enjoying this now. She is now forming friendships with other residents and relatives. A well managed home - feels homely and responsive - great gardens, lovely interior and an activity team who care.
Reply from Debbie Gilard, Head of Corporate Services at Fosse HouseThank you for your lovely review. We're so pleased to hear that your mum is settling in well and enjoying the environment, garden and activity programme. It's wonderful that she's beginning to form friendships too. An excellent and friendly staff who will go out of their way to advise and help residents. The building itself has gradually been upgraded, painted and new, cleaner and more attractive settings been introduced. The overall impact and "feel" of the care home is a reflection of the work and input of the
carers and especially menton should go to the standard, variation and inventiveness of the food provided to residents.
Reply from Debbie Gilard, Head of Corporate Services at GreenacresThank you for your lovely review. We're so pleased to hear that you find our team friendly and supportive, and that the upgrades to the home have made a positive difference. I cannot recommend Courtlands Lodge enough for the wonderful care my mum gets there.
She has been at Courtlands Lodge for a year now and it's turned out the best place for mum and us as a family.
The staff are so caring and take time to get to know mum and what she likes and her life story .
The
home manager Marta is lovely and always there to talk to and has just always been so kind and helpful.
Lorraine looks after mum's floor and knows everything about mum and how she's doing each day.
There are lots of activities and events which are great for families to get involved.
We can visit whenever we like and feel comfortable to spend time there with mum enjoying as much time with her as we can.
The food is very good and home cooked with good options.
With mum's dementia and her moving to Courtlands Lodge, we have peace of mind knowing she is happy and safe and very well cared for.

I was very wary about putting mum in a carehome but after a number of falls at home we had to make the decision. We chose Garden City Court and have been so pleased with mums care. The staff are so friendly and lovely to mum, the entertainment is spot on. Mums room is comfortable and cosy, the meals
look tasty and mum is happy and safe it's a joy to pop in and see her and have a coffee and cake together.

Jubilee Court

This year, our family faced one of the hardest decisions of our lives. My mum needed round-the-clock care, and her husband simply couldn't manage it anymore. It was heartbreaking because mum didn't want to be in a care home, and I carried the weight of that choice heavily. From the very first moment
we walked through the doors of Jubilee Court, everything changed. Donna welcomed us with warmth and compassion, giving us a tour that wasn't just about rooms and facilities-it was about mum, her dignity, and her comfort. She listened, she cared, and she made us feel like mum truly mattered. Then came Mel, the home manager, who was nothing short of extraordinary. She didn't just help us navigate the practicalities-she supported us emotionally, made everything as easy as possible, and went above and beyond to meet our needs. Mel is surrounded by an incredible team in Donna, Emma, Nathan, and every single member of the care and support staff. The love and care they showed my mum and our family
Reply from Debbie Gilard, Head of Corporate Services at Jubilee CourtThank you for sharing such a lovely review. Making the decision for full-time care is never easy, and we're truly grateful you chose Jubilee Court.
We're so pleased to hear that Donna, Mel, Emma, Nathan and the whole team helped you feel supported from the moment you arrived. Their compassion and commitment to dignity and comfort are at the heart of everything we do.
Thank you again for your trust and kind words. It's a privilege to care for your mum and support your family.

Mum didn't want to go into a care home; however, from the first phone call of enquiring to visiting for a look around, I was put at ease, treated with respect, concerns listened to, and reassured. All members of the staff greet you with a smile and make residents feel welcome. Likes/dislikes, home comforts
encouraged. Family members never made to feel a nuisance, always have time to listen. Rooms are always clean, as are all general areas, maintenance staff, and housekeeping, like new friends. Pleasantly surprised by how many events are available, and the staff are so enthusiastic. Excellent. Would definitely recommend. Well done to high-quality staff, approachable managers balance so right. Long may this last!

My father has been in Beane River view for 2 years and before he went in, I was obviously very worried and concerned for his welfare. However, all my concerns disappeared after getting to know the staff and the management there and seeing how much love, care and respect they show my father. I can now
finally sleep at night because I know he is being so well looked after. I can honestly say I cannot fault this care home and all their amazing staff. A massive thank you to everyone there who is doing such an amazing job

Mountbatten Lodge is an outstanding care home. My mother has been a resident there for over 18 months. It's well run with staff who really care. They see understand residents are doing and make sure everything possible is being done to make them as healthy and happy as possible. There are regular activities
and events meaning we regularly see photographs of my mum looking happy as she gets involved with activities organised by the staff and sometimes taken to activities off site including a visit to the seaside. The manager recently went on maternity leave but that didn't affect the levels of care being provided - testament to the strong caring culture she has created. Prior to choosing Mountbatten Lodge we visited 6 care homes in the area - Mountbatten Lodge stood head and shoulders above the rest.
