Furzewood Lodge

The new Home is very pleasant, modern, clean, lovely big bedrooms, nicely lit, very comfortable. Staff are doing a great job adapting to new protocols/practices, as pleasant & helpful as they always have been. Overall a glowing report for the transition, but a few little niggles/glitches which I'm sure will be ironed out. At least in Hedgerow, there is a serious lack of plastic drinking beakers... surely these must be at hand for ALL residents who need them. Notice boards & circulars about activities don't seem to have appeared yet... or have I just missed them? Need to sort out how to stick/attach pictures on the wall. My own partner resident misses the frequent interactions that were possible with some staff at the previous home... here there seems to be a choice only between being in solitary in her room & being in the TV lounge, which I don't think suits her... but I guess she will just need to get used to this... in this regard she was rather spoilt at the previous home!

It was a very lovely care home with lots of security to get it so your loved ones are safe. Staff are really friendly and build relations with Residents and their families. Very modern building with cafe, cinema room , nail salon and celebration rooms.

Debbie and the team has just completed the biggest relocation from Pinewood to Furzewood I can honestly say the move was very well planned, mum didn't seem fazed by it at all, they had everything covered to make the move for the residents as smooth as could be. Furzewood is a lovely place and I know the team will continue to support the residents with the upmost care. Thank you for making mum part of the family

The new care home is amazing my mum has settled in very well with no upset during the transitional period. It is fantastic that Debbie and all of her team have come to the new home they are a brilliant team and always very welcoming towards me and my family. The care and attention they show my mum is always to the highest standard and we never have any issues . They will always communicate if there is an issue. We as a family are very very happy our mum is in the care of Debbie and her team.

Beautiful home which is friendly and supportive. Staff are caring and considering it's a new home as settling in well with caring for the residents. Our mum seems happier in the new home. The rooms are lovely and ideal with an ensuite.

This review covers sept. & oct '26 - parents moved in sept. '26. Furzewood Lodge is a large, open, 3 floored building with plenty of communal areas, quiet areas and activity areas - as a family we are looking foward to partaking of the family celebration/event room too. The bedrooms are very large, own tv, plenty of storage and an en-suite for each room with own shower, storage etc - all very well appointed and well lit. It is truly a beautiful building. But its the staff that make it a home. I visit regularly and always find all staff to be polite, friendly and very helpful and the adminstrative & management team are both dynamic and approachable and any issues, questions that my parents or myself have are responded to promptly. Its been such a worry to negotiate the care system for my parents, so it has been a huge relief to find a carehome team that i trust with the ongoing care of my parents - who are enjoying the food, their rooms and the care and support they are receiving.

Mum is happy there, and that means everything to us. I honestly would not want her anywhere else. The staff have made what has been an incredibly difficult time for our family so much easier, and we are extremely grateful for the care, kindness and reassurance they provide.

The facilities are amazing. It has the feel of a hotel, as the newly built rooms give off this vibe. The staff, who moved everybody across from the old home to the new one, are second to none. They are very caring, understanding, helpful & kind. The Manager & her staff had a massive job on their hands, when moving a whole care home to somewhere else, but they did it seamlessly. We are very lucky to have these people looking after our loved ones. The new home, Furzewood Lodge, is bright, clean & spotless. The food is lovely & there is always so much choice. The activities are varied & everyone is always encouraged to join in. The staff also tailor activities to include residents' hobby choices, which is amazing. Overall, the quality of care, the accommodation and the facilities are outstanding. 5 star plus!

Furzewood is absolutely beautiful. It's like a five star hotel, the decor, furnishings and facilities are all second to none. During the recent move from another home the Manager and all support and care staff have had an extraordinarily difficult job to safely and comfortably move all the residents and their belongings. They then had to settle everyone into the new environment which had to be challenging given the complex needs of some residents. Even though there have been inevitable teething problems with a new building, everything has been overseen by the dedicated Manager with her main priority being the wellbeing of the people who live there. The addition of the cafe area, the cinema, hair salon etc., are all very welcome. I am sure that Furzewood will have the same "family" feel because of the commitment of the Manager and staff. Well done everyone!!!
