Over all excellent. Food could be hotter when taken to the room, as well as hot drinks, water jugs are full when 1/2 full, would be better for some residents to fill their glass.
Reply from Debbie Gilard, Head of Corporate Services at Mantles CourtThank you for your positive feedback - we're delighted to hear your overall experience has been excellent. We also appreciate your helpful comments regarding the temperature of meals and drinks when served in rooms, as well as the water jugs. We will share this with the team and review these areas to help improve residents' experience further. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review.

Staff at Mantles are always friendly and welcoming. I am confident that my aunt receives wonderful care here. There is a good selection of activities that she enjoys when she feels up to it. She enjoys the food served. I do, however, find the communication between carers disappointing and things are
taken from her room and disposed of, things that she wants kept, and it takes a lot of time to get the message conveyed. We are very happy overall, though.
Reply from Debbie Gilard, Head of Corporate Services at Mantles CourtThank you for taking the time to share your feedback about Mantles court. We are delighted to hear that you find our team friendly and welcoming, and that your aunt is enjoying the activities and meals provided. It is also lovely to know that you feel confident in the care she receives. We were sorry to hear about the communication issues you experienced regarding personal belongings. However, I understand that the Home Manager has spoken with you directly and that this matter has now been resolved.
Thank you once again for your feedback and continued support.

My father has been at Mantles Court for nearly three years. The care and attention provided here is excellent. The staff are warm and compassionate. My father is always safe and comfortable, making it really feel like home. I am always informed of any concerns or changes of care for my father, which
offers me and my family reassurance and peace of mind. We wouldn't want him to be anywhere else.
Reply from Debbie Gilard, Head of Corporate Services at Mantles CourtThank you for your lovely review. We're delighted to hear that he feels safe, comfortable, and truly at home with us. I've found this care home to be warm, welcoming, and extremely well-run. The management team is consistently supportive, approachable, and clearly committed to residents wellbeing. The finance department is also excellent - transparent, helpful and eat to deal with, which really takes the stress out
of the administive side of things.
Residents are treated with genuine dignity, and the staff always show patience and kindness. The rooms are immaculate and the entire place is kept impressively clean with a beautifully maintained garden.
There are a few areas that culd be improved. Detailed individual changes to diet and medication as medically requested are not always followed through, for example pre-colonoscopy preparations. Additionally, mixing dementia and non-dementia residents in the same units doesn't always work well and can create unnecessary tension. Clothing often goes missing and some items are washed at temperatures so high that they shrink. A wider and more engaging range of activities - both indoors and outdoors would also make a meaningful difference to resident's day to day experience. Overall, despite a few challenges, this is a caring, safe and well-maintained home that clearly strives to provide the best for its residents.
Reply from Debbie Gilard, Head of Corporate Services at Mantles CourtThank you very much for taking the time to leave a review. We're delighted to hear that you found the home warm, welcoming, and well run, and that our management, finance, and care teams made a positive difference to your experience. Your kind words about the dignity, patience, and kindness shown to residents, as well as the cleanliness of the home and gardens, mean a great deal to us. We also genuinely appreciate your constructive feedback. Comments regarding communication around dietary and medication changes, the mix of residents, laundry concerns, and the range of activities are taken seriously. These are important points, and your feedback helps us to review our practices and identify areas where we can improve residents' day-to-day experiences. Please be assured that we are committed to continually learning, improving, and providing the best possible care in a safe, supportive environment.

Mantle's Court is a lovely home, beautifully presented, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. My mum is well looked after, and a lot of effort goes into creating activities for all the residents.

Our mother has been at Mantles Court for 14 months now, and we, as a family, are extremely happy with the facilities and care that our mother is receiving.
Our mother seems to be very happy and says how kind the staff are to her.
We have noticed a marked improvement in her demeanour.
We could not
have wished for a better care home placement for our mother, and we are so glad we came across Mantles Court.

Overall its a great experience. It could be enhanced with a car/people carrier for trips out. My only complaint is if you advertise dementia care and expertise you need have the resources and people skills to deal with all aspects and not suggest people leave if financially/staffing doesn't allow to
provide the service.

My father is very happy at Mantles Court and has settled in well. The staff are very friendly and professional although they have been hindered by a shortage of staff, although this is now being corrected.
The new management are doing an excellent job of improving the home although there are still
issues with clothes going missing from the laundry and Dad not receiving hot gravy with his food. The new chef is very good.

Overall, Mantles Court offers a good level of care and support. While some staff could improve their approach to what can sometimes be sensitive matters, others such as claire, the senior carer, go above and beyond. This goes a long way in making residents feel like individuals rather than a box to
be ticked, which is very important.

Over the last nine months, I've seen my cousin gradually need more help as she struggles with her health problems, and she is getting that care and support. Once the carers get used to her and her wats, they get to "open up more". I would like to see more care taken with her clothes, she was always
nicely dressed, and her clothes were hung up and put away in the drawers, this is not always the way now.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.590)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.590) out of 10 for Mantles Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.590 for Mantles Court is calculated as follows: ( (158 Excellents x 5) + (82 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 249 Ratings = 4.59
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mantles Court is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
