Reviews

7.8 Jubilee Court has a Review Score of 7.8 (7.835)

The Review Score of 7.8 (maximum of 10) for Jubilee Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Jubilee Court in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.475 for Jubilee Court is calculated as follows: ( (62 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 101 Ratings = 4.475

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 3.36 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Jubilee Court is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 = 3.25

    2. Target of 18.2 positive Reviews (91 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 2 Reviews ÷ 18.2 Target = 0.110

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

This a lovely care home, I am so pleased mum is staying here. I can't fault the staff, the care or the facilities. It's nice to be able to relax and know that mum is now very happy and well cared for.

The food is excellent, wholesome and varied. Her room a good size with ensuite bathroom. Care staff are amazing, caring and friendly, they know everyone by name and nothing is too much trouble. No nappy pants to make life easy!! No bells ringing incessantly. The carers are so gentle and constantly asking if she is ok. The care managers and reception staff are all kind, thorough and very helpful. Each section has its dedicated carers you can trust.

I haven't seen Mum so alive for a long time, she has early dementia but is very lively and alert. The two main activity co-ordinators are brilliant - real characters singing and dancing at any opportunity and even played bowls in mums bedroom to help her join in.

A really lovely care home only as good as its staff and they are ALL lovely!

I find the staff very helpful and very caring. There has never been a cross word and nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend Jubilee Court to anyone and would not mind if I had to return. I can find nothing to criticise about at all.

I received excellent care. The bedroom is always clean and tidy. Would have liked more soya products as I have an allergy. Lack of communication between the doctors and care staff.

I have been a resident at Jubilee Court for the past three months. It has been a most unhappy period of my life but my burden has been lightened by the kindness and care I have received from the carers and staff at Jubilee Court who not only cared for my medical needs but gave me mental support above and beyond the call of duty. I shall always remember their kindness and care with grateful thanks. God bless all at Jubilee Court. Long may you provide such care to senior citizens in our times of need! Thank you, one and all

Everybody here has been very pleasant and caring. One could wish the carers had more time but they are patient and tolerant of ones little accidents and I have not felt I am a nuisance, although I expect I am.

The home is lovely and the staff are very friendly and kind. Unfortunately the level of communication between the the unit staff and the office is very erratic and leads to confusion and frustration. Issues such as management of controlled drugs being used on time never seems to be resolved.

Debbie Gilard, Communications Manager at Jubilee Court responded to this review on 18 Aug 2016:

The health and welfare of residents is our priority and we are disappointed that on this occasion the service was not of our usual high standards. We will ensure that your comments are passed to the home team.

My father who lived with dementia lived at Jubilee Court for almost 2 years. During this time he was cared for as I believe no one else would have been able to. The staff were amazing in that within the first few weeks they got to know him and what he liked to do, how he liked to potter about and liked to be busy helping staff. They allowed my father who was an intelligent man to read things to them, and help them with tasks, they played music which he liked and they listened and laughed at his continual jovial banter. My father became difficult to understand toward the end of his life but the staff enabled him to feel he was listened to and understood him which enabled him to maintain his self esteem and keep a sense of purpose. My father also liked to be up and awake at night, this was no problem to the staff, they found him things to do and even assisted him to compile a booklet of events in his life, which in later days could be used by staff as a topic of conversation.
I cannot praise the staff and managers of this home enough, it was a home for my father and as family we were always made welcome. Toward the end of my fathers life when he was too ill to move, we were presented with a bed which enabled us to stay with him right to the end of his life.
Thank you all at Jubilee. xxx
