My mother became a resident in January 2026; this is the 3rd home she's been to in 2 years. Melwood Grange offers mum a beautifully designed and comfortable room adjusted to her needs, comfortable communal areas. Every single member of the staff has been caring, supportive and friendly to mum and her visitors. The care team encourage her to be her own person, but what they've achieved that the other care homes didn't is helping my mum build some new friendships. Medication is given correctly, when mum has needed a medic this has been arranged and reported back to us in a timely and professional manner. If you are seeking a comfortable caring home for a loved one with good communication I would highly recommend Melwood Grange.

Caring staff, who always have time for a chat. The food is very good, always a good sized serving and lots of choice. Also if you don't want the main choice, or only want a snack the catering staff are always happy to accommodate the request. Access to healthcare is really brilliant - care staff handover requests and I have been able to see a Doctor if necessary. Really appreciate the variety of activities available both as a group or individually.

My mum has been at Melwood Grange for just over a year now. In that time her care has been exemplary she wants for nothing! All of the staff including care, catering, housekeeping and administration have been great. Any issues have been addressed quickly and politely. Mum enjoys a wide and varied diet, regular activities and a beautiful room. Neither she nor I have any qualms in recommending Melwood Grange. Thank you!

My mum always receives the utmost care and has done for the 12 months she has lived at Melwood Grange. She is happy and well looked after and her needs are always met. She recently had a need to see the visiting GP, over and above regular appointments, and we were kept informed from the staff. Mum often talks about her interactions with her carers, but also management and other day to day staff, all in a positive light. We couldn't be more happier with Melwood Grange and how they support mum.

Very impressed with the care at Melwood Grange. Carers are amazing! The whole place is spotlessly clean and well-maintained. A calm and peaceful atmosphere, it's a pleasant place to be in. Any issues are dealt with immediately and successfully resolved. The activities for the residents are interesting and stimulating, and those able are encouraged to take part. The food is excellent, with a varied menu. Visitors are made very welcome. A happy place to be!

When you choose a residential nursing home for a loved one, it can be a stressful and challenging experience. I was fortunate enough to be recommended Melwood Grange, and I never regretted the decision for them to look after my mother. The accommodation and facilities are excellent.
Even though, at times, my mother's behaviour could become difficult, at no point did any of the staff or care team complain. They provided her with dignified and professional support.

I would like to thank the senior team and care staff for their unwavering standard of care.

My mother-in-law has spent two weeks respite care at Melwood Grange and I found the staff extremely helpful and caring to both myself and my mother-in-law.

The facilities are brilliant, very modern and clean. There are activities for residents to take part in should they like to or quieter spaces if preferred. I would highly recommend.

My father became a resident at Melwood February 2025. From being shown around to Dad entering the home was straight forward and friendly.
The home is lovely in decor. The rooms are comfortable and welcoming.
Dad has settled well. This was a surprise as a previous two week respite in another home, 6 months earlier, in another town (not the same company), didn't go very well.
Dad has Alzheimer's and Melwood show great experience caring for residents with all needs, especially as everyone's dementia journey is different.
The staff are caring and extremely knowledgeable. They are always on hand to ask questions. They also keep you updated.

So far, we are extremely happy with Dad's care and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home.

I cannot say enough good things about Melwood Grange: the staff, the food, the large room, the cafe, absolutely everything. My mum has only been here for 9 days, but she was asked how she likes it and she said, "I love it!", and then she listed all the things she won't have to do anymore., like cooking and cleaning. She has enjoyed planting bulbs in the 1st floor garden, and is looking forward to watching her favourite films in the theatre. I am beyond happy that my mum has settled in so well. Thank you to all of the staff for being incredible.

In January 2025 my mother-in-law passed away peacefully at Melwood Grange Care Home in Royston.
In the last few days of her life, I witnessed first-hand the marvellous care and affection the staff gave her.
She was always a character, vocal about her needs and not always patient!
Although she could be challenging at times, the staff managed her so brilliantly and with such calmness.
The manager, carers, kitchen and housekeeping staff all went the extra mile for her.
She happily recounted all the special things they did for her and that made her feel special, cared for and most important of all, heard.
Above all else, it was the interaction and genuine care she received, that made all the staff her 'family' for the past 5 1/2 years.
My family and I cannot thank the staff enough for allowing us to pass our precious family member into their loving care.

We will always champion the work of your care workers, they are all exceptional.

I spent 2 weeks at Melwood, to provide some respite for my wife, who has been looking for after me following a cancer diagnosis. I believe I was the first tenant of room no. 1. I was extremely impressed by the building and nice staff - with very slight problems being due to bedding - in kitchen (breakfast an hour late every day). Things were already improving when I left. I certainly hope they have a vacancy cover I need full-time care.

I came to Melwood Grange in January 2025, it was a shock to be honest but I had become unwell and was making my condition worse by medicine errors! I find the staff to be so caring and thoughtful. They made me realise we need help sometimes, it is no shame! They do anything and everything with a smile and a good heart. I thought I would be lonely but the staff take the time to chat + befriend is. The home is filling up very fast. The meals are really good and lots of it! Lost 3 stone before I came here, down to 7 stone, but putting weight on well. Staff keep popping in to say hello which is lovely! Thank you

My mother was always against going to a care home. She had five weeks in hospital before transferring to Melwood Grange. On my visits, she has told me that she should have done it sooner as the care and social interaction has been very good fr her. She loves all the staff as they are so kind and considerate and loves to join in with the activities and entertainment. She looks ten years younger since being in your care and we are able to holiday knowing she is happy and being well looked after.
