My mother, who had been a resident for just over a year, recently died. I was a regular visitor and in a good position to observe the way the home was run. The thing that struck me the most is the fabulous team spirit which runs through the whole of the staff, whatever their position. It is a difficult
and sometimes thankless job which is performed with smiles, fun and compassion. This atmosphere has been engineered by the manager who is a shining example of exactly how to run a care home, she is accessible, strong, and quite the most capable and caring person I have ever met. I did not expect the care the I myself received in my grief from all of the fabulous staff. My father still remains a resident and with his dementia can be incredibly difficult to deal with but he is cared for just the same with the team taking the good days with the bad in their stride.

The staff always find time to chat to me and are always cheerful and friendly. The garden is lovely and I enjoy it whenever I can. I'm lucky because I have a room with a view over the garden. Overall Dukeminster Court is a lovely place to stay and you won't find better!

Overall I am happy living at Dukeminster Court. The biggest issue I have is the big turnover of staff. Sometimes it is short-staffed here and sometimes I am left waiting for help when I am on my commode or in my bathroom. I am classed as bedbound so rely heavily on two carers using a hoist to move me.
However, the carers overall are extremely hardworking and most try very hard to keep the morale high here.

My view of Dukeminster has changed little in the eight years that my father has lived there. I remain very satisfied with all that the house does in its care for him and for the other residents. I will admit to some dissatisfaction several years ago, but those problems have long-since been resolved.
The stability of staff and of the home's systems under the current manager (who joined three years ago) is commendable - it seems to be a very happy 'ship', and that also reflects well on the whole staff, many of whom are long-serving. My father began in one of the residential units but, as dementia gradually affected his behaviour and his comprehension, he moved to a more specialised unit. The care and attention he receives, in every aspect of his life at Dkkemisnter, remain excellent: from the more obvious aspect of personal care and physical assistance, through laundry, catering, cleaning and housekeeping, to engagement activitoes and the general administration of the house, there is little, if anything, with which to find fault. As I have said before, I have long experience of this home and can say that I would not have my father anywhere else.

I find the majority of staff friendly, helpful and caring. Unfortunately there is not enough staff on my mum's floor, as three is not adequate if one is on a break, and one doing medication, then waiting for the commode is too long a wait. My mum has also complained about night staff. She said they
can be rude, uncaring and sometimes quite rough. Also, I know the residents are elderly, but being put to bed before 8 is ridiculous.

My mother has been resident at Dukeminster Court for four years, following a major stroke. My mother is generally content and happy at Dukeminster Court. She speaks very highly of the staff and likes her fellow residents. The building is well cared for and the rooms welcoming. My mother enjoys the food
and we have joined her several times for a very tasty Sunday lunch. The manager is very approachable and has been very proactive in resolving any issues or concerns.

Our mother has been at Mantles Court for 14 months now, and we, as a family, are extremely happy with the facilities and care that our mother is receiving.
Our mother seems to be very happy and says how kind the staff are to her.
We have noticed a marked improvement in her demeanour.
We could not
have wished for a better care home placement for our mother, and we are so glad we came across Mantles Court.

Overall its a great experience. It could be enhanced with a car/people carrier for trips out. My only complaint is if you advertise dementia care and expertise you need have the resources and people skills to deal with all aspects and not suggest people leave if financially/staffing doesn't allow to
provide the service.

My father is very happy at Mantles Court and has settled in well. The staff are very friendly and professional although they have been hindered by a shortage of staff, although this is now being corrected.
The new management are doing an excellent job of improving the home although there are still
issues with clothes going missing from the laundry and Dad not receiving hot gravy with his food. The new chef is very good.

Overall, Mantles Court offers a good level of care and support. While some staff could improve their approach to what can sometimes be sensitive matters, others such as claire, the senior carer, go above and beyond. This goes a long way in making residents feel like individuals rather than a box to
be ticked, which is very important.

Over the last nine months, I've seen my cousin gradually need more help as she struggles with her health problems, and she is getting that care and support. Once the carers get used to her and her wats, they get to "open up more". I would like to see more care taken with her clothes, she was always
nicely dressed, and her clothes were hung up and put away in the drawers, this is not always the way now.
