I always find the staff very attentive and caring. The staff in reception are particularly friendly and always make me very welcome. I know my mum particularly enjoys the entertainment and she loves the fact that the carers always have a laugh and a joke with her. I particularly enjoy bringing mum down
to the reception area where we can have a private chat and make a drink and delicious cake!!!
Reply from Debbie Gilard, Head of Corporate Services at Garden City CourtThank you so much for your review. We are so pleased to hear that you find our staff attentive and caring, and that our reception team always makes you feel welcome. It is wonderful to know your mum enjoys the entertainment and the warm, friendly relationships she has with our carers. We are also glad you value the reception area as a comfortable space to spend quality time together, especially with a drink and delicious cake. Thank you again.

First time visiting, what a lovely surprise, nice welcome from the lady at reception. Was taken through to the area where residents were singing and playing instruments, with a wonderful carer, leading the session. Afterwards, had a look around the dining area, where we sat and relaxed, everyone was
so pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. Was shown to her room, which was very personal to her, with photos on the wall of family and personal bits and bobs. The place itself is spotless, safe and secure. Have left there knowing my relative is in safe hands. Thank you.
Reply from Debbie Gilard, Head of Corporate Services at Garden City CourtThank you for your kind feedback. Mum came to Garden City Court for a two week respite following recommendation by people, myself and my brother know they were'nt wrong. It's a very well run and caring establishment with such friendly staff who make you instantly welcome. Mum said that the care is exemplary and the carers are lovely.
She also enjoyed the many engaging activities. The staff are certainly a credit to this residential home. It's like the people and their attitude who can make a stay a positive one not just the surroundings, which are beautifully clean, homely and most importantly, safe.
Reply from John Joannides, Corporate Services at Garden City CourtThank you for your kind review. We're so pleased that you're happy with the home and the care it provides your mother as well as the activities that are provided. Your review will mean so much to the staff in the home.

I was very wary about putting mum in a carehome but after a number of falls at home we had to make the decision. We chose Garden City Court and have been so pleased with mums care. The staff are so friendly and lovely to mum, the entertainment is spot on. Mums room is comfortable and cosy, the meals
look tasty and mum is happy and safe it's a joy to pop in and see her and have a coffee and cake together.

We have been really pleased with all the staff at Garden City Court. My Mum moved here in March and settled in well. Shortly after moving here, my mum had a fall and broke her hip, the staff have been fully supportive and gone above and beyond to get my Mum settled back in. All in all, very excellent
and reassuring knowing my Mum is in good hands.

Wonderful care home - and it really is that, a home. My father, who has Alzheimer's, has been a resident for almost a year and has settled well. The emphasis on 'person-centred care' is evident - my dad is treated as an individual and he's responded really well. The carers supporting him are brilliant
- nothing ever seems to be too much trouble. Residents are encouraged and helped to pursue their interests - and discover new ones - the activity programme is jam-packed and highly varied.
The home manager's door is literally always open, which is reassuring and the team of managers overseeing the units are friendly and approachable.
My father has a dietary requirement and this is no problem for the catering team. I would highly recommend Garden City Court to anyone considering a move to a care home in the area. Have a look at their social media page - it will give you a sense of the lovely atmosphere and all the goings-on. I sleep soundly these days, knowing my dad is genuinely cared for.

My mum has been a resident since July 2024, the improvement in her physical health since being a resident here is quite remarkable. The care staff are excellent, they are caring and attentive and got to know my mum well within a matter of weeks. The management has always reacted to my requests promptly
and without fuss. I would recommend Garden City Court without hesitation.

My Mum has recently passed away and had been a resident of the care home for the past 6 years. I can honestly say her time there was absolutely wonderful. She was very well cared for by the staff who are all very professional and so caring towards the residents.
My mum enjoyed the activities and entertainment
provided at the home. The monthly schedule was always full of great things to do and to join in with.
In her last days there, the dignity and respect they showed my mum and the compassion and support towards my family I will never forget.
Each and every member of staff is absolutely amazing and I can't thank them enough.

I visited many care homes in the local and surrounding areas. Garden City Court is by far the most loveliest and welcoming. Since my mother moved in she has thrived, and for the first time in many years my mum has felt happy and secure. My mum has first-class support from their carers, her medical requirements
have been fully assessed, and importantly mum loves the activities, and has come out of her shell in this wonderful community.

Very warm and welcoming from my first connection which was when I phoned up. Appointment to visit was made immediately to suit me - re at the weekend. I knew from the moment I arrived in reception it was the right place for my dad. The care home was very clean and tidy. The rooms are spacious but most
important are the people that work there. They all appear very happy in their work and the environment they work in. They are all very personable with my dad and with relatives. The cost is high but I realise that good staff should be paid fairly.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.850)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.850) out of 10 for Garden City Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.850 for Garden City Court is calculated as follows: ( (201 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 234 Ratings = 4.85
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Garden City Court is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
