Overall Experience
This was first used as an emergency for my mum when dad was taken into the hospice.
The staff (all of them) have been wonderful with mum, making her comfortable and happy from day one.
All staff are approachable at any time, they keep you informed all the while. Nothing is too much effort for mum. They even make her different meals if she wants.
Entertainment and activities are second to none.

Overall excellent.

Our Dad was cared for very well in respite care at this lovely home. It is clean and welcoming with lots of activities that are well thought out and enjoyable for the residents to feel at home. The caregivers, housekeeping and managers are all attentive and professional whilst caring. Their Facebook page is a testament to the fabulous activities and get-togethers arranged for the residents to make their stays enjoyable and dignified. Thank you to all the team at Garden City Court.

My dad had a wonderful experience at Garden City Court, he stayed there a couple of times for respite. He had dementia and would always refer to his time there as a holiday. He enjoyed his time there and really bonded with the staff who were so friendly and willing to help with all his needs. He stayed on Victoria Plum and would attend the day centre during the day. I was provided with photos of activities he had taken part in during his stay which was lovely as I was worried about if he would be ok. I was able to visit him whenever I chose as there wasn't any restrictions on visits. Our whole family was impressed with the care received and for the wonderful time dad had there.

My husband has been attending the "Q" club day centre at Garden City Court since early 2018. He seems to enjoy his visits there being usually quite chatty when I return to collect him and he does each week without complaint. The staff always seem to be kind and caring as well as polite and supportive.

However, I'm not really in a position to choose some of the options below (eg food and management) as my husband has so little memory to tell me what he has done or eaten and I've not experienced them myself. Though I'm tempted to mark all as good or excellent.

The care workers were kind and helpful and did their best to meet my needs. At least two of them went beyond their role to be particularly helpful.

Our experience of this care home is excellent. The residents live in small units of 15 residents, each according to their level of care needs. The units are light and modern. The staff have good knowledge of individual residents and appear to provide a good level of care. Also, the situation is very pleasant with lovely open areas, both inside and out. We like the idea that Quantum is a not for profit organisation.

Overall Experience

Over the past few months, I have come to realise what a friendly home it is, often getting to know staff and assistants by Christian names. There are so many physical activities such as ball throwing and bouncing, craft works, singing, old songs and competition questions. There are gardening activities, which my family have helped with. Musical acts like Elvis are great. Trips to garden centres and outings to Southend etc helps the more active residents. Many of them share their life interests with you.

My experience is as a visitor to my wife daily for about four years and as a resident for the last year. Staff are human with human failings, but with remarkable patience and kindness. The home is in general well run and conditions are comfortable. The building is new and any minor problems have, so far, been dealt with promptly.

On the assumption that management at all levels continue on the same course, I look forward the spending the rest of my life here. PS. I have not ticked 'excellent'in the questionnaire below, because I believe there is always room for improvement.
