We were lucky enough to be given a choice of four different care homes before we settled on Garden City Court. This one is head and shoulders above the others that we saw. Mum is incredibly happy here and we can't fault the level of care. The staff are all just amazing. Friendly, helpful and caring.
They always want what's best for Mum. After eighteen months of Mum being here, I am still amazed at everything they do for the residents here. It's a ten out of ten from me!

My mum has been with Garden City Court since 2019. She is incredibly happy and secure and this is her home now. She has a fantastic relationship with the carers, she is included in the resident's voice and is made to feel valued and supported every moment. The carers are professional, and they are not
only my mum's carers, but they are her friends. The care is gentle, empathetic and kind, my mum is always helped and cared for. The environment is full of fun entertainment, with whole centre events within the home and trips out for afternoon tea and visits to garden centres. Every member of the team goes above and beyond, they are all truly generous professionals with pure altruistic characteristics. This is a truly very special place and I know they care for my mum immensely. I cannot recommend this home enough and I know my mum will support this if you want to ask a resident for their experiences. Thank you to everyone!

My husband was discharged from the hospital to Garden City Court. He is 96, mentally alert but physically frail. Everyone has treated him with respect and did everything possible to help him to settle in and the family were also supported to a sudden change in a much-loved member. Care is first-class;
the kindness shown is wonderful. Cannot fault anything, he is really happy there.

In my experience, Garden City Court is a highly efficient and professionally run care home. The members of staff that I have met have been enthusiastic, caring and highly motivated. I am always greeted with friendly smiles and a warm welcome. My requests for information or assistance in relation to
my father's care and specific needs have always been addressed immediately. Nothing is too much trouble for the team. The care home is extremely clean and well-managed. The highest standard of care is being provided to my father and he is extremely happy in his new surroundings. He is always treated with great respect and dignity. Thank you, Garden City Court, we take great comfort in the knowledge that Dad is safe and well looked after.

I asked my mum what she liked about the home. She said it's a very happy place to live and the staff are cheerful and always happy to help me. The food is very tasty. She enjoys doing the activities, especially singing. She said her room is always cleaned well and the whole home is cleaned to a high
standard.

I am so glad I chose Garden City Court for Mum. She was reluctant to go into residential care but the staff have been wonderful in helping her settle in.
The care she receives from every member of staff is exemplary. There is such a varied programme of activities in which she has participated in and
enjoyed them all enormously and she is much more alert and chatty, which is great to see. It's been peace of mind for me to know she is being so well looked after. Thank you so much.

My husband has been a resident since December 2020. Although Covid restrictions have applied for most of his long-term care, we, as a family, have always felt he has received the very best care and support available to meet his needs. Prior to this, he received periods of respite care. At that point,
life was less restricted, and a range of varied activities was in place on a regular basis. As life "opens up", these are being re-introduced, which we feel is a great asset to the care he receives. Throughout the time we have had connections with Garden City Court, staff and management have always been very understanding and supportive of our circumstances.

So pleased I found Garden City Court. Mum has dementia and her previous care home whilst good wasn't a home away from home which Garden City is. The environment is just the right size on each floor. The staff encourage their residents to treat it as home, from breakfast in their PJs if they so wish
to help out. Mum has made friends and is always out in the lounge area joining in and not isolated in her own room, which is great to see. The staff work very hard and are very flexible and helpful whenever I need them. I would recommend it for anyone's loved ones.

I was impressed with the setup at Garden City Court right from the first time I looked at the website.
Very rarely do you get such a feeling that a place is right for your loved one and the feeling has grown the longer our involvement has gone on.
The staff and management are amazing and they take
all the worry out of a situation that had the potential to be very difficult.
I cannot praise them enough and we will always be grateful.

Where do I begin, 200 words is simply not enough... My nan has been here for a number of years now and she is so happy. The care received, on every level, by every member of staff has been consistently phenomenal. Nanna always looks vibrant, beautifully presented and has made great friends. Nanna enjoys

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.850)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.850) out of 10 for Garden City Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.850 for Garden City Court is calculated as follows: ( (201 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 234 Ratings = 4.85
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Garden City Court is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
