View Full Details of Shipston Lodge Nursing HomeFantastic home after an awful 7 weeks stay in hospital after a broken hip.The care home got my father walking the next day and he put on weight. The care and attention from all of the staff was brilliant.
I am extremely pleased with the care my father-in-law has had at Shipston Lodge. They are all very friendly and caring and nothing is too much trouble. I feel he is very well looked after here after seeing my mother-in-law in another home there is no comparison.
I could not be happier with the care my mother has received since she moved into Shipston Lodge in April this year. The staff are outstanding and can't do enough for mum. The facilities are modern and spotlessly clean. I really look forward to visiting mum there. She is kept stimulated with regular activities and we can all sleep soundly at night knowing she is safe and happy.
Just had a health and welfare update with the home manager, which served to reinforce the wonderful care that mum receives 24/7. The behind the scenes monitoring that takes place is amazing and shows the holistic approach to care that is undertaken at Shipston Lodge. So as well as the wonderful face to face care that mum is shown, it is comforting to know what goes on unseen that means mum receives first class attention both medical and practical which means the world to us as a family.
Shipston Lodge is a very friendly and welcoming home for both its residents and their families. The staff are helpful, caring and supportive. The amenities cater for all needs and the overall cleanliness and appearance of the home is always excellent. The food is of excellent quality and there is always a good daily choice of dishes. The care my mother received during her respite and then rehabilitation period was outstanding and she would recommend the home to anyone wishing to move to a care home.
After being pushed over by a neighbour's dog. when I broke my left femur, I had screws and a plate fitted in hospital where I was from the 6th to the 21st of March. I transferred to Shipston Lodge on the 21st of March, where the respite care and nursing has been exceptional. It is run by an excellent professional manager and is extremely well managed. I found the Indian carers and nurses to be particularly good. The physiotherapists were excellent and I am sad to hear their services have been dispensed with. They have me walking and able to be discharged to live independently again.
We found ourselves needing emergency respite care for my mother in law who is still living at home with carers. The first phone call with this home made me feel at ease. I contacted many in the area, this home just responded quickly and were fantastic. This home is heads and shoulders above many in the area. This home is lively, has many facilities- There is no gods waiting room atmosphere in this home. My mother in law is very anti nursing home and this opened her very stubborn eyes to what a nursing home is like. It's caring, friendly and the manager and her team are super professional and should be very proud of themselves as they all make a difference! My mother in law, who loves to moan and is very fussy, could not through her disappointment find one thing to criticise- the experience in this home has potentially made some difficult future conversations and choices a lot easier . This is all down to the amazing experience in this home- they put some luxury hotels to shame!
From beginning to end the process of admission, flexibility of treatment of package was excellent. My mother 80 was admitted for two weeks (initially) rehabilitation care, extended to three weeks after physio assessment. The care, facilities, food and love my mother received was beyond expectations. All of your staff have personality, professionalism and proficiency beyond. Having never encountered care before - This was exceptional. We couldn't have coped or cared for Mum without you and your team.
I am writing to express our deepest gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion provided to my Mum, during her time at Shipston Lodge Nursing Home. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the manager and I was immediately struck by the warmth and genuine care that radiated from every member of her team, (we had tried many homes before we found Shipston) The level of attention and dedication shown to Mum was truly remarkable, the care from the whole team was quite remarkable, those Nurses treated Mum like she was their own Mum, never losing patience and always filled with compassion, there are too many names to mention but we appreciate every single one of them thank you. The manager manages the care home and I've never seen anyone as dedicated, hard working caring. Thank you. I wholeheartedly recommend Shipston Lodge Nursing Home to anyone seeking a loving and supportive home for their loved ones. With sincere gratitude.
Replacement of floors should not have affected the care of residents, the owner's problem. Lack of staff, language problems. Second week breakfast after 10 am, dress and wash 11:30 am, had to cancel visitors. The chef did her best with spice allergy. Carers had no idea an unopened tin of mushroom soup was put on my tea tray. The reclining chair broke down. No hairdresser first week. No special wheelchair for shower facilities. Had to go outside to the dining room through a doorway unsuitable for wheelchairs. Long wait to be taken back to my room.
Shipston Lodge provided great care for both my parents during the last 18 months of their lives, and I would highly recommend them. The management were very efficient, flexible and considerate when I was organising my parents move into the home. They were able to be together in a bright and large room. The staff, whatever role, really care about the residents, always addressing them by name, listening to their needs and having great patience and positivity. Social activities we varied, including a pub quiz. Their health needs were met and hospital visits accompanied if necessary. The food was excellent and homemade, with cake available for visits too. Shipston Lodge were supportive when first Mum, then Dad died. Overall a very caring environment.
Shipston Lodge Nursing Home has been unbelievably supportive while my mother moved into care. The manager has been outstanding in terms of communication, explanations and speedy response. All of the staff have been delightful and I have observed carers working with my mother with sensitivity and compassion. My mother has not been a resident for long enough to make further comment but we are delighted with our experience.
Very welcoming, happy and light environment. High-quality facilities. Very caring staff, helpful and positive in outlook in all areas and sensitive to patient's problems and needs. The food is very good quality and varied and well presented. Well-attended activities. Altogether a happy and positive experience all around.
My Dad had tried two care homes prior to Shipston Lodge and I was extremely nervous about him settling in. I need not have been. The formidable manager spent a great deal of time getting to know my Dad and fed back to her team his needs and routine. She has a heart of gold. Walking into this luxurious home starts with a warm greeting from the lovely receptionist. The nurses and care staff always attentively listen to my dad's needs. The in-house physio team is fabulous and the activities team are exceptional. I can finally sleep at night knowing he's in the best care home. All care homes should be like this one. We are so grateful to you all. Thank you.
When I arrived at Shipston Lodge I was in very poor shape because of a delayed diagnosis which ended in a fracture! With the most truly wonderful nursing staff I have come around and am progressing well. I would have liked to have tended my stay but I did not have the financial means. I am not overstating that they are miracle people and we are very lucky to have them.
Dad went into the lodge for a week's respite care following a hospital admission. During that time he was well looked after. The medical staff were excellent with his different medications and understood his needs well. Every member of staff greeted you with a smile, and a hello and went out of their way to help you with any queries or questions. The rooms are lovely and clean and the bathroom facilities are just right. Dad needed some personal care and the member of staff was so lovely with him. She respected his dignity, asked permission, and explained what she was doing all the time. Dad really enjoyed mealtimes - in fact, I think coming home might be a bit of a let down! We don't know what the future holds but I wouldn't hesitate to use Shipston Lodge again knowing that Dad would be safe and well cared for. My thanks to all the staff for their kindness and support at what was a difficult time.
Good front of house and selling patter but lacking delivery. Staff attitudes range from affable and engaging to borderline bullying. Nursing competence is similarly hit or miss. Food is adequately palatable but in no way exceptional. I contracted for a week's respite stay but decided to leave after a serious error of medication and a subsequent traumatic night. Despite assurances of transportation to and from the hospital I had to find my own way there and was left stranded by staff when no taxi could be booked for my departure. They didn't even offer to drive me to the bus stop.
Mum originally went into Shipston Lodge for respite for a couple of weeks but due to deteriorating health stayed for 12 weeks until end of life two days ago. We called it a hotel for the elderly because that is what it felt like, beautifully decorated, fresh flowers so clean and tidy but it is the people running and working in the Lodge that made Mums failing health more bearable for her and the family. Mum was treated with such care, dignity and respect from all levels of staff from the carers, medical team, the manager even the maintenance people and gardener. We cannot thank you all enough. We were regularly updated with on going situations regarding her health and various decisions that had to be made. I have no hesitation in recommending Shipston Lodge to other potential residents and their families.
My wife stayed for a brief spell of respite care (with a serious medical condition) so she relied completely on the staff, at all times she was treated with respect and kindness. I found that staff at all levels from carers, through medical staff to the Manager were interested in providing support both to myself and my wife. I would recommend Shipston Lodge to other potential residents and their families.
My father went to Shipston Lodge for respite care in the middle of January, which we extended to the end of February as he was/is being looked after so well. His needs have regularly been assessed and any changes have been dealt with promptly and respectfully. We, as a family, have been fully included in any decisions made.
