View Full Details of Tryfan HouseI have not graded food and drinks nor activities because I have no experience of these. I have watched the staff diligently complete patients' records and watch over residents with compassion. I have seen examples of a caring approach to establishing boundaries that residents need, together with a happy atmosphere. Feedback and information for me has been excellent and regular. All in all, a well-managed caring home. I liked the appropriate use of humour, to which residents responded.
My friend was in the lounge when I visited All the carers spoke to her and served her with some (very nice smelling) lunch with respect and, I feel, some affection My friend always is clean well cared for and as happy as one could expect-perhaps happier! She admits she'd be lonely if she were living on her own. I don't think she interacts well with other residents-that I guess is because all or most people have some form of cognitive deterioration-they are ( I imagine) not the people they used to be. But she is ok. If this person were my mum, I feel I'd be happy with the care offered.
My wife loves Tryfan House, her room and the staff. She loves gardening, music and activities.
The staff is very friendly, efficient and hardworking. Plenty of activities. From management to the domestic staff, informative and eager to help with any issue.
Extremely satisfied with the dementia care facility. The staff are all very engaging, caring and experienced. Nothing negative to say, I would definitely recommend this home. My uncle has been supported in trips out to a local coffee shop and has been encouraged to participate in physically stimulating activities. This is above and beyond any care home I have experienced previously.
My husband settled in very quickly. Staff are just so, so friendly and very helpful. My husband always has a smile on his face. The one thing I also like is you don't have to book a visit, can just turn up.
Mum is very happy at Tryfan House. She has been in other Care Homes and this is by far the best for her needs. She is much more settled and happy. Her personal care is fantastic and she always has a smile on her face.
The staff at Tryfan House take great care of my dad. They encourage him to take part in activities. They are very friendly and inclusive. They look after all his personal care needs and treat him with dignity and respect. Whilst the rooms may be basic, the care is outstanding.
On observation, it is my opinion that meals are not adequate for the age of the residents. A lot of the meals include waffles, wedges, pasta and fish fingers. (This menu is more suitable for children). More traditional English food should be served more often sausage with mashed potatoes, veggies and gravy, meat and veggie pies and peas (steak), fish and chips (not frozen cheap chips), Rice pudding, Crumble with custard, ice cream etc. My father cannot live off sandwiches alone. Overall the staff are very attentive, friendly and always willing to help. I hope my suggestions are taken in a positive manner and seen as an opportunity for improvement.
My mum has really settled well. She is getting involved with lots of activities. The staff are very attentive and caring. This was the last home to be considered for Mum, but I can safely say it has been a great decision for my family. Mum is happy, safe and cared for.
