The care home Aspen Hill is a very good place to have your relatives in a time of need. The staff are also great many of times they have gone above and beyond for my dad. The care home is a clean and safe environment and you can go home confidently knowing your loved one is in safe hands. I appreciate how much the staff have helped me over the years and also took some of that added stress from me.

Dad has been in Tryfan House 15 months, and has always been treated well with the carers understanding and respecting his needs. He is deaf but they all still manage to communicate with him well.

My dad transferred to this home in June 2023 with advanced dementia. I am very pleased with the continual care and attention he receives as his condition has matured. When issues do occur I am contacted promptly and actions discussed openly. 6 months reviews with staff are helpful on understanding his changing and ongoing needs. 10% increase in fees this year were unwelcome.

My mother was extremely well supported and cared for during her stay. The care was well tailored to her needs and shared flexibility as these changed. Staff were always available to talk to us and communicated well. Very satisfied all round.

I attended for my fathers 6 month care plan review and to visit him.
Tryfan house always seems lively. The staff are considerate cheerful and very helpful. It is very clean and orderly. All the residents seem content.

I have always had any of my questions about my father's care respectfully and completely dealt with. The staff are vigilant about contacting me with any information about care that I need to know. Sue a senior care assistant is absolutley marvellous and extremely professional.

Staff are very friendly and professional and so seem to care for my mums needs. I put satisfactory for activities as I can't really score that because my mum doesn't partake in any really. Her room is clean and tidy. The overall place is also clean and tidy. I scored satisfactory for 'value for money' as I can't really comment on that. Overall very pleased with the level of care my mum receives and I'm kept up to date with any changes.

Tryfan House is one of the few places in Leeds which specialises in caring for dementia sufferers with challenging behaviour such as my dad.
What stands out for me is that Tryfan House is staffed by a great team.
The more you understand about what they do, the more you will appreciate their professionalism.
They are dynamic, calm and patient, supporting each other and displaying exceptional care and respect for the residents.
I am so glad my dad moved there.

Do not concern yourself with minor imperfections in decor (frequently caused by residents) or what activities there are (most can not engage). This place is about quality care for people in difficult circumstances.

Overall Experience

I have not graded food and drinks nor activities because I have no experience of these. I have watched the staff diligently complete patients' records and watch over residents with compassion. I have seen examples of a caring approach to establishing boundaries that residents need, together with a happy atmosphere. Feedback and information for me has been excellent and regular. All in all, a well-managed caring home. I liked the appropriate use of humour, to which residents responded.

My friend was in the lounge when I visited
All the carers spoke to her and served her with some (very nice smelling) lunch with respect and, I feel, some affection
My friend always is clean well cared for and as happy as one could expect-perhaps happier!
She admits she'd be lonely if she were living on her own.
I don't think she interacts well with other residents-that I guess is because all or most people have some form of cognitive deterioration-they are ( I imagine) not the people they used to be. But she is ok.

If this person were my mum, I feel I'd be happy with the care offered.

Extremely satisfied with the dementia care facility. The staff are all very engaging, caring and experienced. Nothing negative to say, I would definitely recommend this home. My uncle has been supported in trips out to a local coffee shop and has been encouraged to participate in physically stimulating activities. This is above and beyond any care home I have experienced previously.

The staff at Tryfan House take great care of my dad. They encourage him to take part in activities. They are very friendly and inclusive. They look after all his personal care needs and treat him with dignity and respect. Whilst the rooms may be basic, the care is outstanding.
