View Full Details of Woodlands Care HomeWoodlands Care Home cannot be faulted. My sister has been a resident there for several years and her care has been excellent. All the members of the Woodlands team treat her and other residents with absolute care and respect. They are genuinely concerned to ensure all her needs are met. They keep me and my relatives fully informed and contact us immediately if there are any concerns. She is always clean, as is the whole home. When she is ill, she is well looked after; when there are health concerns, medical professionals are immediately involved. Relatives' concerns are dealt with immediately. There are regular meetings where they are free to air any concerns. Policy is often modified as a result of relatives' observations and they are kept informed about any changes. The warmth of the welcome at reception is a true reflection of the Woodlands atmosphere. I would recommend it unreservedly to anybody seeking a suitable home for a loved one.
My partner had a stroke in January 25 at this time he went to hospital and I was told he would not survive the weekend, but he proved them wrong and after 2 weeks he returned to Woodlands. However he was not eating and drinking, he was reviewed by a Paramedic from the GP surgery who was excellent with T and myself, she said she was not ready to give up on him yet , and with the care and determination of her and the staff on his unit his recover is unbelievable, his mobility is still poor and he still had thickener in his fluid , he as been revisited by SALT and is now on level 6 diet, he is back to the character he was before, I can't thank them enough,
Woodlands is the best! Our mum has been a resident for almost 2 years on Daisy Hill. The care mum has received from the team has been top notch. Lisa/ Jayne/ Kate and all of the staff have shown mum such patience and affection during the last few years. Although our mum can't communicate well anymore, she can still say I love you, and we know this is because she feels safe and well looked after at Woodlands. Her bedroom is always clean and tidy, clothes washed and hair done. Thank you team - we will always be grateful for the kind hearted and professional culture you have created at Woodlands.
My mum has been living at Woodlands dementia Care Home for about 18 months now. She is very settled and very well cared for. The staff are excellent, very professional as well as friendly and approachable. All mums' needs are anticipated and met well. We are very happy with how mum is looked after day to day. The food is excellent, the unit is well manned with trained staff, and led by experienced dementia trained staff who are very approachable and supportive, giving regular feedback and reviews.
Our first visit to see my brother we were surprised to see how clean and smart it looked and how good the staff are. We were really impressed.
My mum has only been in for a short spell, but she seems to have settled very well. All the staff are attentive to her needs and very helpful to us and all our family who visit her, so for the short time she's been there, we cannot fault it.
It was my first visit after my friend admitted the previous day. I was helped with the booking in system and directed up to the 1st floor. My friend appeared well cared for and was supervised by staff unobtrusively. She seemed much herself and settled in the new environment. It was clean and homely. Lovely gardens noted through the window and look forwards to enjoying them in fine weather.
My husband went to live in the home in April 2025. I have found the staff and management to be helpful and reassuring while my husband settled in. I have observed that the staff are very kind and caring to the residents and treat them as individuals and with respect. My husband does not have a big appetite, but the food has been excellent and varied and everyone is catered for,.
My sister is well cared for in Woodlands. Although her Alzheimer's has progressed, every effort is made by carers to satisfy her needs. If I have criticism it is that sometimes there doesn't seem enough staff to facilitate all needs. Activities are good but again it seems some residents need more to occupy them. Overall I'm happy with the care my sister receives
Excellent care towards the residents. Personal needs met as required regular activities for residents available.
Very patient carers and very helpful.
My mother has been well cared for in her time at Woodlands. Staff have listened to any concerns my brother may have had about mums health and wellbeing. I particularly love to see mum get involved in enrichment activities even though her dementia is advanced. All in all a good decision to move her to the home. Staff are generally very good.
I cannot praise the staff and facilities at Woodlands enough. From my very first contact with one of the staff through to moving my dad into his room, she was lovely and explained everything I need to know. All the staff I have met are so friendly and always willing to help. The building is lovely, very modern, clean and well equipped with everything the residents need. 5 stars from me!
Woodlands has such a lovely atmosphere as a care home. Every member of staff I have encountered on my many visits have been friendly, extremely caring and professional, they really got to know my father and treated him with dignity and respect. The home is spotless and my father's clothes were always clean and ironed. He enjoyed his food a great deal and polished off every meal, even on his last day. I was so pleased that I chose Woodlands for the care of my dear Dad in his final years.
From my initial visit to look around Woodlands, I immediately felt this was the best place for my mum (I even got a personal recommendation as I was leaving from the son of a resident!!) My mum has settled in well. Despite it being an emotional time for the family, we are glad with the choice we made. Can not fault anybody/anything. Woodlands is now our family too!
Sadly, my wife's dementia became too much for me to care for her anymore, and she moved into Woodlands Care Home in Westhoughton just before Christmas. She settled in very quickly and is very happy and content. The staff are extremely attentive and caring and seem to enjoy their work. The layout of the unit is bright and colourful. There are regular activities arranged by the staff as well as a large garden outside as part of the care home, where residents can be taken to enjoy further activities. Her bedroom is light and airy with an ensuite shower and toilet, and she is checked every two hours at night as well as there being a detector mat in if she gets out of bed at night, which can elicit an immediate response from the staff. I can not think of anything that would make it better, and this gives me peace of mind, and I am able to visit her every day.
I have found Woodlands to be a very kind, friendly & more importantly, excellent care home. It became a lifeline for my father & family.
The staff on Daisy Hill are always amazing looking after my Grandma. They treat her with kindness, respect and show they always care. As a regular visitor I love seeing the staff and they always make me feel welcome. The space is always clean and all residents are seen to be treated with so much care.
Mum has only been here a short time but has settled well. All staff are attentive, supportive and strive to help as much as possible. Also have a very positive & caring attitude to residents and visitors alike.
Over the Christmas period my dad's dementia became too much for my mum to manage and we took the very difficult decision to seek care for him. Woodlands has made all of this so much more straightforward than we imagined. The staff have been amazing with him and all of the difficult red tape was handled for us by the office team. All of his needs are catered for and he is so well looked after.
