View Full Details of York Manor Care HomeMy Cousin has recently moved into York Manor. All the staff are very friendly, caring and professional. My Cousin is extremely challenging when it comes to food but the Chefs are exceptionally good at creating a menu to encourage him to eat. Nothing is too much trouble for the chefs and all the kitchen staff. I am very grateful to them. I was so apprehensive about placing my Cousin into Residential care but I could not have picked a better home for him. He has developed such a good relationship with ALL the staff and he is very settled and content. It is so reassuring to see. I also feel part of the York Manor family. The Lifestyle team do an amazing job at getting my Cousin involved in the various activities. No mean feat. It is good for me to know that my Cousin is well cared for, safe and happy. Thank you to all at York Manor I would strongly recommend York Manor for your loved one.
After a bad experience trying to settle Mum into a care home, we were concerned about how a move to York Manor Care Home would work but we needn't have worried. The staff made it so easy with their welcoming and friendly attitude. They are always on hand to offer advice and make us feel like part of the community too. The home is clean and well designed. Mum's room is very nice and and she can access the garden whenever she likes. In Mum's own words, "It's wonderful here. The food is great, and the people that work here are very caring. It's a lovely community. I don't need to do anything if I don't want to but there's always lots of things to do if you fancy it."
I looked round several care homes for my mum and I and my brother knew as soon as we arrived that this was the one. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive, everything included in price, that one would expect, front of house manager is phenomenal and so kind and funny, immediately took to her. Very easy process getting mum into the home, the room I wanted for mum is the one we got, no going on dementia floor, we'll she wasn't really mobile enough, but room was homely, as mum said "beautifully decorated " she thought it was a hotel, bless her. The while place smelt lovely, everywhere clean and tidy, excellent laundry service, every member of staff really cared, from the domestic who got mum's nails done when he overheard I was going to do them to the chef who took a real pride in her work( deserved) and her residents likes and dislikes. As mum became more poorly, the care was excellent, they kept me informed of everything , the staff sat with mum when needed, showed such compassion
Very impressed with the whole package. They really cant do enough for my mum. The facilities are lovely and clean and the staff are very friendly and look after mum with care and attention. Although I have put satisfactory regarding value for money this is my opinion of all care homes and in no way reflects on York Manor Care Home in particular.
I was there for a month of respite care after major spinal surgery- it proved to be the perfect choice. A new, thoughtfully designed building and pleasant, well-equipped home. Brilliantly supportive, considerate, and swiftly responsive staff. And a superb environment in which, at first, to rest, and then to recoup strength in ways which have made my return home easy to negotiate. I am deeply grateful and would enthusiastically recommend York Manor to anyone considering a stay there.
The care home offers a genuinely friendly and supportive environment for both residents and their families. All staff members are warm, approachable and clearly well-trained, with strong support from management. The atmosphere is always happy and welcoming, and its been a joy to see the positive impact this has had on my mum. It truly feels like a home from home.

The activities carers are excellent.
Friendly caring staff. The care home has lovely feel about it and very clean and welcoming. Cuisine however does need improving to suit residents of this age. The quality of the food at times needs to improve which is a shame as all other aspects are very good indeed.
My husband is in a very good home I have peace of mind knowing he is well looked after.
Although it took my father a little time to settle, I must say York Manor Care Home exceeds all of my expectations. York Manor is second to none. The building is of a high standard extremely well maintained and very comfortable. My father is nearly 92 and has vascular dementia. He is always clean and tidy and well cared for. He has gained 7kgs since moving in to York Manor which is outstanding. The staff are wonderful with all the live ins. The activities they put on for the residents are truly wonderful. They are always ready to give 100%. I can not speak highly enough about all of them. As a family we had to make this hard decision and we are really blessed to have found York Manor.
I attended a Mothering Sunday event at York Manor on 30/3/25 and it was such a lovely, joyful event. It was so nice to sit with my mother and have a "high tea" together, but also to enjoy a social event with other residents and their families. Everything was beautifully presented and the staff were so friendly, going out of their to make sure it was a happy occasion for all. My thanks to all the staff members involved in organising the afternoon. Loved it!
All the staff are considerate and kind The rooms are always clean and comfortable My mum really likes the food and some of the activities the home puts on Parking for visitors is adequate Security at the care home seem very reasonable to protect elderly people
With York Manor being fairly new at the time our aunt moved in, we were hoping that it would be the right choice although there were few or no reviews to help make up our minds. Sadly we didn't have the luxury of shopping around because of our aunt's situation but it has turned out to be the best move in every respect. From the word go, our aunt was welcomed in as one of the family - and it really does feel just that. There is a real sense of belonging and community - they actively encourage you to join in with activities if you are able but it is done with a purpose, to promote health and wellbeing. The residents always have a smile on their faces and for some who may not have family close by this is a blessing to see. Residents are treats with the utmost care and respect and we couldn't ask for more.
Lovely building, care staff and management excellent. Movement to 2nd floor executed with care and dignity for residents. First floor lift ENT needs securing.
The staff are wonderful any problem or query they help always. Mums always clean and adores her carers the home is welcoming and clean.

The facilities are bright, clean and the decor is equivalent to a high end hotel. York Manor has given us peace of mind, knowing mum is being cared for in a such a lovely place with caring staff, activities to keep her occupied and three good meals a day. We have already recommended York Manor to several friends, which is a testament to our endorsement.
My in-laws have been residents in York Manor for over two months now and I can honestly say that I feel so happy that we found this place for them. We were very reluctant to put them in a home because we knew they were very keen to stay at home but it became impossible to do so. I love the whole environment which is spacious and beautifully decorated. It really has the feeling of a 5 star hotel. We have found the staff to be very caring and attentive. The food is fabulous. The activities are amazing. It has given my husband and I huge peace of mind to know that they are being so well looked after. We really couldn't have asked for anything better.
Not only myself, but also my family are happy with our choice of care home. When you reach the stage where your only choice is to place your spouse in a care home, it's a difficult transition for both, albeit for different reasons. It's a comfort to know that my wife is so well cared for by considerate, caring and professional staff, who deal respectfully with issues arising from living with dementia. Things we like include: the decor, frequent and varied activities, the ability to cater for a vegetarian diet, and staff knowing everyone's names, including visitors. York Manor has a positive, friendly and welcoming vibe.
