Staff are hardworking , dedicated and vey kind/understanding to the residents. Main issue at times there was lack of staff which impacted the care due to existing staff being overstretched but it has improved by the time we left the home.
We also appreciate you raising the staffing levels you experienced. This is something we take seriously, and I'm glad to hear it had improved by the time you left,...
York Manor is a good place to bem I was very happy with his care.
Thank you for such a thoughtful review. It's great to hear the team's care and professionalism made such a difference for your husband, particularly from the night staff. I'll be sure to pass on your comments to the team.

Very happy with the overall care of my dad. Rooms are very comfortable with a big ensuite. The food is extremely good and plentiful. The staff are really pleasant and caring. There are a couple of concerns, I have regarding his appearance. Occasionally he looks unkept to the point of scruffy. Dirty clothes and not clean.

My mum settled in straight away at York Manor. The staff are very caring and helpful. Her room is always clean and tidy as are all her clothes. The care home itself is ideal for a lovely visiting experience. There are numerous sitting rooms which are beautifully furnished where you can spend time as a family. Reception are very good at relaying information via email or telephone which leads to good communication.

I had no idea what to expect and I was worried, depressed, I was on an emotional rollercoaster and I had looked after my father for 11 years he lived with me. I found social services a total nightmare. However the help and support received from York Manor in particular the manager Joana was exceptional, and I am extremely grateful. Dad has settled in very quickly, staff are very professional and I now have peace of mind. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt review. We understand how emotional this time can be, especially after supporting your father for so many years.

We have had an excellent experience from initial enquiries to placing mum in York Manor Care Home. Joana was extremely helpful from the start outlining costs, care facilities, and a first tour of the home. I was anxious about mum's needs as she has dementia but needn't have worried, she settled very well and is extremely happy. Care for her is excellent.
Thank you for taking the time to share your kind feedback. We are delighted to hear that your experience with York Manor Care Home has been such a positive one from your first enquiry through to your mum settling in.
It is lovely to know that Joana was able to support and reassure you during...
My mother was one of the first few residents at York Manor when it opened and we have been delighted by the care and quality of staff from the beginning. I am especially grateful to the chef for making sure my mom has nice vegetarian meals, and has even cooked some of Mom's own recipes for her. I also appreciate the range of activities, and how they listen to families about ways they can arrange more relevant activities, or try new things. The decor is lovely and well designed. The rooms have just enough space, but also feel cosy. Overall we are very pleased with her care, and know this is the right place for her to be.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We're delighted to hear how pleased you have been with the care your mother has received at York Manor since opening, and it means a great deal to know you feel confident that this is the right place for...

We had spoken about what to do and where to go when this Care Home was recommended by a professional,
I now don't understand what I was worrying about. The staff are all brilliant. They pay attention to everyone. My man didn't settle immediately and they checked on him, coaxed him, introduced him to other residents, fed him, I was happy to entrust him to their care. They even watch out for me and my bad moments and talk me through them. I wasn't expecting that, or the total professionalism, cleanliness, constant attention to everyone, I'm amazed, I don't know how they do it!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt and honest review. We understand how difficult and emotional it can be to make the decision to transition a loved one into full-time care, especially under distressing circumstances. It means a great deal to us that you chose our home...
My father became a resident in August '25. The staff have not only been helpful to us as a family but have been really supportive to us all. They've listened and been genuinely caring when we're still going through this initial major change. My father has settled in well and has become less anxious than he was previously. Every member of staff is approachable to both family members and of course my father. Thank you for easing a very difficult situation for us!
Thank you sincerely for your thoughtful and heartfelt review. We are truly grateful that you took the time to share your experience, and we're so pleased to hear that your father has settled in well since joining us in August. It's reassuring to know that he is feeling more at ease, and that you and...
All the staff are very friendly, caring and professional.
My Cousin is extremely challenging when it comes to food but the Chefs are exceptionally good at creating a menu to encourage him to eat.
Nothing is too much trouble for the chefs and all the kitchen staff. I am very grateful to them.
I was so apprehensive about placing my Cousin into Residential care but I could not have picked a better home for him.
He has developed such a good relationship with ALL the staff and he is very settled and content.
It is so reassuring to see.
I also feel part of the York Manor family.
The Lifestyle team do an amazing job at getting my Cousin involved in the various activities. No mean feat.
It is good for me to know that my Cousin is well cared for, safe and happy.
Thank you to all at York Manor

After a bad experience trying to settle Mum into a care home, we were concerned about how a move to York Manor Care Home would work but we needn't have worried. The staff made it so easy with their welcoming and friendly attitude. They are always on hand to offer advice and make us feel like part of the community too. The home is clean and well designed. Mum's room is very nice and and she can access the garden whenever she likes. In Mum's own words, "It's wonderful here. The food is great, and the people that work here are very caring. It's a lovely community. I don't need to do anything if I don't want to but there's always lots of things to do if you fancy it."

I looked round several care homes for my mum and I and my brother knew as soon as we arrived that this was the one. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive, everything included in price, that one would expect, front of house manager is phenomenal and so kind and funny, immediately took to her. Very easy process getting mum into the home, the room I wanted for mum is the one we got, no going on dementia floor, we'll she wasn't really mobile enough, but room was homely, as mum said "beautifully decorated " she thought it was a hotel, bless her. The while place smelt lovely, everywhere clean and tidy, excellent laundry service, every member of staff really cared, from the domestic who got mum's nails done when he overheard I was going to do them to the chef who took a real pride in her work( deserved) and her residents likes and dislikes. As mum became more poorly, the care was excellent, they kept me informed of everything , the staff sat with mum when needed, showed such compassion
Thank you so much for your heartfelt and thoughtful review. Very impressed with the whole package. They really cant do enough for my mum. The facilities are lovely and clean and the staff are very friendly and look after mum with care and attention. I was there for a month of respite care after major spinal surgery- it proved to be the perfect choice. A new, thoughtfully designed building and pleasant, well-equipped home. Brilliantly supportive, considerate, and swiftly responsive staff. And a superb environment in which, at first, to rest, and then to recoup strength in ways which have made my return home easy to negotiate. I am deeply grateful and would enthusiastically recommend York Manor to anyone considering a stay there.

Rachel started her career in Health and Social Care in 2009 as a care assistant.
In 2012, she took up the post of senior carer for a small, family-run business consisting of three homes. During her seven years working for that company, she progressed from a level 3 to a level 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care. While working there, she discovered that her passion was complex dementia care, and in 2017, she took on the post of registered manager.
In the summer of 2018, Rachel left to take on different challenges, managing a further two care homes that were in need of lots of support. Rachel loved creating good working relationships with the main stakeholders and improving the reputation of each service.
Rachel always places residents’ best interests at the forefront of her decision-making. She is passionate and dedicated, and it brings her great satisfaction to know that her residents live in a happy home and that her staff work in a happy workplace.
