Mum has been in Howard Lodge for just over 2 years and I cannot praise them highly enough. Mum has Alzheimer's and is very well looked after, all the staff are very kind and attentive. They let me know if she's going on an outing, which she really enjoys, and they encourage her to participate in most things. It's great to see all the photos that they share and she looks like she's having a lovely time. Highly recommend

The care my Dad is receiving at Howard Lodge has been exemplary. They go over and above to make him comfortable and safe. We receive regular updates and always a quick response to any questions we may have. I would recommend Howard Lodge to anyone wanting home from home care with dedicated and loving staff.

I submitted a review previously but was surprised to see it had only 4 stars on my overall experience. I must have hit the wrong button by mistake on the food review. Please note that Dudbrook house deserves nothing less than 5 stars, it's an absolutely fantastic place and I can't praise and recommend it enough.

Mum has settled in so well. Everyone is very kind. Medically she's getting better attention than she's had for years, not that she needs much. They make great desserts and cakes which she loves and has put some weight back on. All

The wonderful support and care that my sister has received since October 2025 has been tremendous. Everyone from Housekeeping to Management is so kind. Nothing is too much trouble. I visit regularly and feel that if I have any concerns they are listened to and acted upon. There is a sense of calm about Dudbrook. It is difficult to describe. The interaction between staff and residents is always one of respect, patience and love. I will be forever grateful to Dudbrook House for the peace and comfort that it has brought to us as a family. The care that my sister is receiving is the best that we could have hoped for.

Dudbrook House has been amazing since my nan moved in for recovery care, which has since turned into permanent residence as she loves being there so much. From the very beginning, the staff have shown genuine kindness, patience, and respect toward her, which has made a world of difference during what could have been a difficult transition.

The carers are attentive and take the time to get to know each resident personally, which really shows in the way they interact with my nan. It's comforting to know that she is in safe hands.

The home is clean, well-maintained, and has a calm, welcoming atmosphere. There are so many activities that help keep residents engaged, and it's clear that their wellbeing-both physical and emotional-is a priority.

I cannot recommend Howard Lodge highly enough, we could not have chosen a better care home for mum. She is so happy and very well looked after. The staff are wonderfully caring and so kind to both residents and their families. There is always some sort of activity going on and as soon as you walk through the front door you can hear laughter. The home is spotless. It is a joy to visit.

The team approaches every aspect of their work with experienced dedication-whether it's daily routines, communication, or social events. you can truly feel and see the thought that goes into everything they do on a daily basis. After finding that our mum needed to go into care we looked at a few places and Howard Lodge had been recommended by a number of friends. We have been very happy with the care and service provided, the staff are very caring and kind with nothing being too much trouble. All the staff from management through to the carers are all equally caring and kind. The home is very welcoming with excellent facilities and space for families to visit and sit with their loved one. Dogs are also very welcome and greeted by many staff and other residents, and given lots of treats! We regularly go for a walk in the grounds and see the goats, sheep and chickens. There is a lovely calm, relaxed atmosphere. The entertainment is great with different activities every day and mum has danced with singers and an Elvis impersonator which I think has been her favourite activity so far.

We can't thank the staff and management enough for everything they've done. Truly the best care home we could have hoped for.

When choosing a care home for my aunt I wanted to make sure of the quality of care, standard of living area and good relation with staff and management. . These criterias have been met to the highest of standards. My aunt really enjoyed her short respite stay in Poppy Hamlet. There were plenty activities for her to do. She also was pampered and had her hair done too. If there was a question or something my aunt needed the staff responded very quickly and efficiently. She was a very happy lady! We will be looking into the prospect of my aunt staying at Howard Lodge on a permanent basis. I would like to thank the staff and management for taking good care of my aunt.

Choosing a care home for a much-loved parent is never easy. It's a daunting and emotional decision; you want their needs and wishes met, while also ensuring they'll be happy, safe, and well cared for. There are so many factors to consider, the feel of the home and its people make all the difference. From the moment I walked into Dudbrook House, I knew it was right for my mum. There was a warmth and vibrancy that stood out not just in the surroundings, but in the staff too. Dudbrook House goes above and beyond for residents and families. They're inclusive, welcoming, and foster a real sense of community. There's always something happening: activities, events, and enrichment that bring genuine joy. What meant the most to me was the personal attention. The staff are not only professional and attentive, but they take the time to truly know the residents and their families. In the 2.5 years my mum lived there, I had peace of mind knowing she was respected, valued, and truly cared for.

My Father had not spoken very much, due to the move, and the passing of our Mum. Once settled in Primrose Hamlet, he has found his voice again., albeit sometimes too vocal. My mum very reluctantly went into Dudbrook for respite care in November 2024. This was a heart wrenching decision but we knew my mum needed expert care. This has been the absolute making of my mum. The loving kindness she receives is second to none. Each and every staff member is exceptional. She is fitter, happier, healthier and feels very safe. The accommodation is wonderful, hygiene impeccable, entertainment great and above all the staff genuinely care. We are so very, very grateful to everyone who makes Dudbrook such a special place. All residents and relatives are treated like family, and you really do get that feeling from the minute you walk through the door. Everything is brilliant: food, visiting GP and dentist, beautiful rooms and garden, on site hairdresser, cleanliness...EVERYTHING. There are activities happening every day in the home - games to play, massages, exercise classes, petting animals visiting regularly, entertainers, tea dances, mother and baby group, meeting horses and ponies, afternoon tea, pub lunches, outings to the shops, quizzes...the list goes on and on, and socially mum is having the time of her life! She is now so much more happy and content than when she was living alone. If you are looking for a home with staff who really do care, Howard Lodge is the one to choose. Absolutely exceptional in every aspect.

This is my sister is at Dudbrook House. Started in the old building then in October 2024 moved to the new Dudbrooke House. Dudbrooke House is a delightful place of place of peace, care and friendly support to my sister. The facilities are excellent the staff just fantastic! My wife and I plus my family all agree that this is a great place to be cared for. It has security and support from a marvellous caring company. It has that lovely homely feel about it. Lovely and clean tidy and without any smell. Cheerful and bright.

My mother in law was in Dudbrook Hall originally and moved into the new Dudbrook house when it was finished. The old building was very tired but the staff were lovely so that sold it to us. The new Dudbrook house was built specifically for the residents needs and is beautiful. We always have a lovely welcome from all the staff and know that my mother in law is being well looked after. There is always activities going on, although my mother in law isn't able to join in with most of those now. We are glad with our care home choice, which was a recommendation to us and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

Howard Lodge is a very friendly family orientated home, they continue to amaze me on how much care they provide to my mum and all the residents to ensure they have a happy comfortable and enjoyable life there. The staff are always welcoming and happy to see not only the residents but their families and friends. There are always staff around to answer any questions and there are always plenty of staff on the hamlet for the residents. Mum has been out on two outings in January, a tea dance and a pantomime.
