Polebrook nursing home has been a shining light. My grandmother has been elsewhere where they were unable to care for her complex needs but at Polebrook it's not an issue at all. The communication from their management to my mum is regular and prompt. And I cannot say a bad thing about them. The best
part, is the carers, they all genuinely care and my grandmother is in their dementia care wing and they are all so kind even when she isn't to them. They treat her with dignity, respect, compassion and kindness. They talk to her and listen to what she says. They listen to us and appear to value our input. They enable her to live her life in a way that is comfortable and achievable. I have no faults but I do have a lot of gratitude. Thankyou Polebrook for being so caring and for always being exceptional!

My step father was in Polebrook from June 2024 to October 2025. He had full nursing care in the later stages of his time at Polebrook and I was more than happy with the care he received. I liked that we could visit whatever time of day or evening. There were always plenty of staff around. The staff
were lovely and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, even offering us a drink when we visited, finding chairs for us to sit on. Plenty of entertainment put on for residents and family. Communication was very good too. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this care home to anyone facing the prospect of putting an elderly family member into care. Minor detail, ther is plenty of parking too.

My mother has been looked after very well in the nearly 3 years she has been resident at Polebrook
the staff genuinely care about her and are always friendly to myself and the rest of the family when we visit

I have no concerns about the care my husband is receiving the staff are caring and kind. Visiting is no problem and I am often offered a cup of tea!
The parking is easy and the grounds maintained so outdoor events can take place in a nice environment.

Our father is always very clean and tidy and well shaved. The home is always clean and bright and staff very welcoming.We realise Dad isn't the easiest to deal with but everyone is so kind and patient with him. Following the latest episode with his health, we were made aware immediately of his condition
and kept up to date as things progressed. Whenever I make contact with the home I always receive a prompt response.

My Dad is on the Pathway and has 24/7 care now. He is cleaned, fed and made sure he is ok. The organised functions for residents & guests are superb. For all of this I & my family thank the care staff.

My mother experienced a period of delirium requiring hospitalisation, and her condition was so severe that we feared for her life. Following her diagnosis, the hospital secured placement for her at Polebrook Nursing & Residential Home. Having no prior experience with care homes, I was initially apprehensive.
However, since her admission in mid-2024, my mother's well-being has significantly improved. The staff are exceptional; she has developed positive relationships with several caregivers. Their attentiveness is remarkable, ranging from providing comfort to handling incidents such as spills. The staff's familial care is deeply appreciated and exactly what I hoped for. Therefore, I extend my sincere gratitude to every member of the Polebrook staff for creating a safe and supportive environment.

My aunt has lived at Polebrook nursing home since 2021. There is always a happy face on reception to welcome me and I have seen the staff show kindness and patience to the people they are caring for. I feel confident that my aunt is well cared for.

The home is so well run. The staff are welcoming, caring and nothing is too much trouble. I visit my husband daily and have never experienced anything untoward. I would readily recommend this care home to anyone who wants their loved one to receive the care they deserve.

I visit about four to five ladies weekly and there are always activities going on and entertainment. We are very lucky to have four to five activity people every day and one at weekends. Yesterday they had an interactive learning experience which entailed them bringing snakes, spiders and all animals
like that the residents always enjoy.

Mum has been a Polebrook resident since 2021 and has always been treated with kindness and respect. The care home is always clean and vibrant with many activities taking place. The whole team there was incredibly supportive to Dad on all his visits and has been very friendly and helpful to everyone

The Manager and everyone at Polebrook provided the most wonderful supportive care to my brother-in-law over the last 8 weeks of his life. The kindness, sensitivity and commitment to the highest standards of care was remarkable - service of the highest professional standard, treating him with dignity,
love and deeply personal care. Nothing was too much trouble. We and other visitors were always welcome. The atmosphere was one of warmth and trust- a very happy family. We cannot thank them enough.

Mum has been a resident for approximately 20 months. Her care over that time has been excellent. We have been kept informed of issues whenever necessary. The whole staff have her welfare at heart, and carry out their duties with compassion and understanding.

My mum came to Shire Lodge after not settling in another care home and had been evicted. It was a terrible and unsettling time. Once at Shire Lodge, she settled immediately. She returned to her happy, singing self, put weight back on and accepted personal care. I put this down to the friendly and homely
environment, staff who are well trained and every wellbeing need considered. She soon called it 'home' and accepted this is where she lives. As a family, we couldn't be happier. Thank you.

I am so happy and grateful for the dementia team at Shire Lodge and how they care for my grandma. My grandma is thriving here.
