The building may be old and parts could benefit from some improvement but the atmosphere is vibrant and care is excellent - such a warm, friendly and personal approach. Management and administration are excellent as is liaison and communication with relatives. A lovely Care Home that is truly caring.
positive comments, these will be past on to all of our staff.

The staff are all very good and friendly. My mother has always been well looked after during the 3 years she has been at the nursing home. It is like a family atmosphere in the home and I am always updated as to how my mother's health is and how she is getting on. Lots of activities and stimulation for the residents.

Since moving in, Mum looks wonderful. She is up every day, looking well-attended to and happy. Mum has specific medical needs and the team is on top of her health requirements. The communication is excellent. We are always kept informed about mum which is so important to us.
It is also a pleasure for us to visit. There are always activities happening and music playing which creates a happy and positive atmosphere. It is a truly lovely home that feels warm and so welcoming.

Nice rural care home with very friendly and caring staff. Lots of events and entertainment are organised for it's residents on a regular basis. Possibility to sit outside when/if the weather is good enough.
Thank you for your review, we will pass all of your comments on to our dedicated staff in all departments.
My Auntie has been supported to eat breakfast & lunch with other residents & to engage positively in a wide variety of activities and entertainment - which she has thoroughly enjoyed; as one if her main issues when living at home was loneliness and lack of access to social groups.
Polebrook is also very responsive to my queries at all times by phone or email & very organised & efficient when supporting my Auntie with clinical provisions or hospital appointments. Both myself & Auntie are so happy we made the decision for her to reside at Polebrook - it has improved her quality of life beyond words!
in her new home with us at Polebrook. You positive feedback is very welcome and will be passed
on to all of our dedicated staff in all departments.

I am most happy with the care she receives. The staff are very attentive and like working there. This fact is reflected in that some have been employed there for some years and there is very little turn over of staff. They are genuinely friendly, and committed to what they do. My wife has put on weight and is obviously very content there. The only slight criticism I have is the infrastructure of the building whilst still functional needs modernizing. I am more than happy to recommend the home.
in her new home. We will pass your lovely comments onto our dedicated staff in all departments, it is a good
boost for them to know their hard work is appreciated.

Our last visit was for our Aunt's birthday. A cake had been prepared with candles which allowed us to celebrate with her. I was offered a cup of coffee which was very welcome. The staff bothered to wrap the cake for us to take away as we left.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all at Polebrook Nursing Home for the great care they take of my relative.
Our only issue was the struggle we had to get a parking spot in the car park!
on her Birthday a very memorable day.
Kind regards
Pamela
Polebrook nursing home has been a shining light. My grandmother has been elsewhere where they were unable to care for her complex needs but at Polebrook it's not an issue at all. The communication from their management to my mum is regular and prompt. And I cannot say a bad thing about them. The best part, is the carers, they all genuinely care and my grandmother is in their dementia care wing and they are all so kind even when she isn't to them. They treat her with dignity, respect, compassion and kindness. They talk to her and listen to what she says. They listen to us and appear to value our input. They enable her to live her life in a way that is comfortable and achievable. I have no faults but I do have a lot of gratitude. Thankyou Polebrook for being so caring and for always being exceptional!
Thank you for taking the time to send in your amazing review. We appreciate your comments and gratitude regarding our care for your Grandmother, it is always a pleasure to pass on positive feedback to all members of our staff.

My step father was in Polebrook from June 2024 to October 2025. He had full nursing care in the later stages of his time at Polebrook and I was more than happy with the care he received. I liked that we could visit whatever time of day or evening. There were always plenty of staff around. The staff were lovely and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, even offering us a drink when we visited, finding chairs for us to sit on. Plenty of entertainment put on for residents and family. Communication was very good too. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this care home to anyone facing the prospect of putting an elderly family member into care. Minor detail, ther is plenty of parking too.
comfortable and happy as possible. We will pass on your comments to our dedicated staff that make all of this possible.
Kind regards

Meet the Team (5)

Hi, my name is Jo, I work in Reception at Polebrook Nursing Home. I have been here for a little over a year, however, I used to work here back in 2016, but I left to live in Sweden with my husband for a while. Whilst we were there I managed to complete my Degree and I graduated in 2018. I really love being back here and love interacting with the residents and their friends and relations on a daily basis. The environment here is very calm, relaxing and super welcoming and I love coming to work every day! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and walking my 2 dogs, Leo & Layla.

I've worked as housekeeper, in the laundry, as kitchen assistant over the years and I'm currently working as one of the cooks.
I enjoy working here at Polebrook because of the staff and residents.

I’ve been working at Polebrook for 3 years now. I first started as a carer and then moved onto feeding in the morning and at teatime.
I currently work as a kitchen assistant, and enjoy supporting the residents.
I enjoy cooking and gardening in my free time.

This is the second care home that I have been working at.
My favourite part about my job is talking to the residents when I come into work and having catch ups with them.
In my spare time, I enjoy sports, such as swimming and cycling.

I have been a nurse since 2015, and have been working in a hospital until 2019.
I am from a place near Venice in Italy, and have been living in England since 2015.
I cover both days and nights at Polebrook, so some days I feel like I live here!
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and watching TV.
